Last Saturday, I visited Newbury and Reading's Wargames Show at Newbury Racecourse. I videoed a workaround and offered my own viewpoint of the show. A great one to visit. Please view and feedback,
NIce video, a lot of hard work to produce but please keep them coming. Another great show with a good mix of traders and games. Already looking forward to next year.
Nice style with the camerawork- almost like being there. Pleased Liverpool Wargames got a mention- they always attend Phalanx at St Helens and put on a good display, very friendly as well. From your presentation and others I have seen on YT it does seem that wargame shows are picking up following the CoVid setback which has to be good news.
A very fair point Mike, Spending was only £70. Paints, sabots, brushes, a hill. I was looking for Hundred Years (Scots) bits, in particular in B&B,which there was nothing that grabbed me. A very good show though.
Great video. I went on Saturday afternoon and had a great time - I spent too much though! Did you get everything you were after? Shame there was no Wargames Foundry there this year. It was Blotz doing the mdf stuff you liked. Simon and Sue (Blotz) have the unit next to Big Battles in Cirencester which is very convenient for me. Simon also did me some fantastic bespoke bits for when I was building scratch built 28mm gunboats.
Hi SD, ahh yes Blitz, v nice mdf and very helpful too. Mosty bought paint, sabots, giant dice, terrain, nothing substantial 😉, looking for more hyw stuff to add to my 2 new warbands, nothing in b&b. Although Athena tempted me..
The game at around the 11 minute mark after the Peter Pig ancients game was actually 15mm using Peter Pig's WW2 rules PBI. A hell of a lot of effort went into the construction of the table.
Yep agree. Looked amazing. Some of demo games were breathtaking. Don’t think they do(??) but wonder if there are awards for best of categories games? If so would be good to know who won what.. our club years ago used to give awards.
