Having, in the military, actually maintained REAL 1911-A1's, I have to say; "this guy does not know what he is doing", sorry. Screwdrivers to remove pins? You soak a rusty weapon in a solvent for weeks first, then CAREFULLY disassemble the weapon, soak the parts in RUST REMOVER and then clean, with soap water and maybe some real GUN CLEANING solvent. NEVER, NEVER USE A SAND BLASTER ON A WEAPON. Yes this is not a real 1911, It does not have a Colt style disconnector. (someone who knows old colt's knows what that is) Sorry my friend You fixed the weapon, but personally I would never fire the thing.
