Canada has a ton of experimental weapons.

Yup. Another interesting example of something built by Canada that could be considered a weapon (but only used for scientific purposes) is the project HARP space cannon. The whole project was led by a Canadian expert, who ended up getting a assassinated years later for trying to help ba’athist Iraq build a much larger space cannon.

Such confidence in their prototype. "NOT MAN FIREABLE" prominently displayed on the 40mm segments. I suppose problems similar to those the XM25 CDTE experienced were an issue. Hopefully with the SIPES, at least, no soldiers were harmed in finding said problems. The XM25 program wasn't so lucky to have not maimed anyone.

I'm discovering you for the first time. This is the very first video I'm watching from you. And I'd love to hear more of you, but on a single condition; Getting a much higher quality microphone for recording. The information you have to share is worth hearinf what you have to say. ❤

I think Canada realizes that more so than any country they rely on US military so why develop a new gun when the US has that covered? Until someone makes something better than the AR15/AR18 style gun there's really no reason to choose anything else unless your country can't easily obtain or make an AR platform.

I think small tactical drones will make the "smart grenade launcher" concept obsolete. Small drones have proven themselves in combat in Ukraine as a very effective way of putting small explosives in the defilade. Imagine a system using two small drones and some smart software. One that loiters over your immediate tactical environment, semi-automatically identifying and tracking targets. The second one would pretty much autonomously go back and forth between the operator and target delivery points, dropping and picking up small munitions. Edit: I want to point out another example of this. Consider the HEDP 40mm grenade rounds for the M203. They are capable of penetrating about 2 inches of armor if you get a nice square hit. They were developed to give at least SOME type of emergency anti-armor capability to a squad if they didn't have better stuff on hand, in case say a BTR or BMP showed up. The problem is you had to be darn close to get a good hit with one of those, so they really weren't that useful in the real world, they just beat throwing rocks. Well along came the war in ukraine, and they had a bunch of those. Someone came up with the bright idea to retrofit them onto civilian quadcopter drones. It's easy to and low risk to get close to a BTR or BMP with a drone, and dropping it straight down ensures a nice square hit. And the armor is thin on top also. We've all seen the videos on how well they work

So you can mount an 870 to either side or on top, which means in theory that you could have a gun with 3 attached shotguns; perfect for the Doomslayer. But yeah, nah, this project is more dead than the Arrow. It's an obsolete concept and Canada has nothing left in terms of domestic weapons political influence, and it's hard enough as it is for them to equip the forces with the equipment they're actually supposed to have, nevermind new projects. They'll be running the C7 into the 2050s.
