Just to take on the songs he chooses to cover is ballsy, but then he sets the bar (maybe in a bit different direction), but the emotion etc etc is there. Evertime. Awesome to listen to this lad and his old/buzzing guitar. None of this is an accident. It's a package that can transport you. The amount of work that he has and does put in to his art is humbling. Thank you, sir.
Colters cover of this song has what Townes had when he sang this song. Its some that other covers of this song dont seem to have. And thats feeling you can feel the sadness and pain in both Colter and Townes voice that makes their music sound so much more real
Well sung Colter..I sat for a half an hour with Townes and rapped about songwriters and his songs too..it's on Ytube called "TVZ at "Madigans" Brunswick Melbourne Australia..it was six months later Townes left us way too soon..Adios TVZ..cheers Colton from Australia mate🙋
Pedal Pusher My thoughts exactly. The Tanyas had a special sound all their own. Anyway I discovered this prairie boy a few months ago. Reminds me of home I suppose. Salut
I tend not to like covers of this song even by bands whose music I love. This is so different then the original but somehow captures almost perfectly the haunting cancerously depressing feeling of Townes doing it.
Look up the chords and then get some hammer on fills in there. Should probably learn travis picking too. Best way to learn these songs is to get the basics and then do your own thing
My papaw was born on Hell For Certain around the Leslie/Clay Co. line in southeast Ky. Dunno if that's what W. B.'s shirt is dedicated to or not though lol. I need me one of em shirts though.
what picking pattern does he use? It seems a little different from Travis when he uses his hammer- ons. Does he use this pattern in another one of his songs?
