Best song! My son was addicted & died suddenly last month. He was my baby! (29) I know I'll see him in Heaven! Your music tells it like it is, makes you cry, pay attention, pray to God for his Blessing of giving him to me for a little while then taking him home to be free and loved. Thank you Colton!!! Your music speaks to the world!!! Deb
I remember voting faithfully for Colton while he was on American Idol. He came in third place, I believe. I was disappointed, but when he fell to his knees during his farewell song and gave glory to God, I knew he'd be ok. God has this young man in His hands, definitely.
After years of depression, social anxiety, self-harm addiction and attempted suicide, I'm still here. My scars remind me who I am, they are a part of me. God is with me, He will lead the way. I love this song
heidos7 heidos7 The scars are proof of what God has done in our lives. The fact that those scars don't define us any longer is what testifies of God's goodness!! God bless you heidos 💖
After a suicide attempt that I survived this song speaks to me! My scars defiantly remind me who I am. I embrace everything I went through! Never give up!
This song applies to all of us! We're all sinners but because of Jesus, we have another chance, Our "Scars" give us a reason to speak to others who might be going through what we did. Use our past mistakes and show that God has truly forgiven us and made us into a new person.
As a recovering addict, this song really speaks to me! Our scars do indeed remind us who we are. God is there for all of us individually, we can recover and be forgiven.
I was 13 when this came out, it was my favorite Colton song! I am more scarred now than I could have ever imagined then. I struggle to see/hear/feel God these days. I came back to feel something but I just can’t
Sometimes it isn’t about you getting more of God, rather it’s God getting more of you. He wants you, not some of you, not just the fixed bits or okay bits, He wants all of you He doesn’t care if your broken and shattered.
I relate very well to this song. raised in church of Christ I was brought up to beleave were doomed to he'll if we fail. after picking my bible up in prison at age 37 I learned that that's the sole purpose Christ came and died for us so we wouldn't have to. he took our place and every time I here this song and read the lyrics I tears up. our God is awesome and full of grace so thank you Colton or putting into words the things I feel for our father
this is for all of you out there struggling. you're here to serve him. and he loves you unconditionally. I have struggled with my body image and the way I look. I struggled so much that I scarred it. and my scars remind me of who I am. never give up hope and keep looking to him.
I'm not religious whatsoever, but I'm still in love with Colton Dixon and his music. That's what I like about Colton, you can like his songs no matter what.
If this song doesnt touch your soul at its core then you dont have clue. Im a recovering addict and this is truly a God inspired message to those of us who are living this each and every day of our lives. It is by the grace of God and his mercy we are redeemed It was not the anger of men or the sin alone that put God in flesh on the cross it was by his undeserved Love for us that he laid himself down, scars in his hands prove love redeems, nothing but Love will save t
remember, if you weren't meant to be this way, god would change you. I saw him in concert, and before he sang this, he said that Jesus, to this day, has scars were they drove nails through his hands. All for us. The fact that he died for us is beautiful, so millions of people thank him today for taking those scars for them. God bless.
In a world where everyone is panicking and stressed daily , we we're built up before the fall of mankind: to deliver the ones who follow Him and only Him; our Most High Creator. We are the *Messengers*
Christians today weren't there when the bible was written. But God's spirit was, and he has put the same spirit that wrote scripture through men, in Christians today, because we believe the spirit is alive. Without the spirit, it's impossible to say that the bible is flawless.
In my opinion this is Colton Dixon's greatest work. If every song regarding the Christian faith was this honest I no doubt see that many people would turn to Christ.
I like how he relates to everyone with talking about scars. Like how we've all had pains and problems. We've all felt a little broken sometimes and others feel downright defective and destructive, like nothing could ever go right. But then there's that little uplifting moment. And then goes to God, like how his scars remind us who we are. His scars emotional and physical ones he has gotten from being nailed to the cross. They remind us that we're forgiven of mistakes and sins because all our sins went on him that day. He has the scars. Beautiful song.
Echo Frost We need to get good songs spread? Then why do you want to get this song heard? Its terrible. He ripped off the title of "Scars" From Papa Roach. which is a better song... just listen to it. its the same type of "regret" song, like this except its better
This song is not the song from papa roach this song is by Colton Dixon. This song is a different song called Scars not a papa roach song called scars. If you want to listen to papa roach go watch one of their videos and get off with the hate on this one okay? People will like what they like don't dis them for wanting to spread what they love with others. This type of hate is not needed to bring others down. You should try to spread the love and not hate and make a world a better place. You can start by apologizing.
This song defines me and my life after many failed friendships/rejections several times an year I am going through depression, suicidal thoughts and loneliness 😣😭😓
Defeated, wasted, broken, bruised All because of my addictions It left me crying and confused It cuts right through my religion My good intentions Disregarded, overlooked Sinking lower and lower The shame erased my name and took My face and made it like the others Would I recover? There's another day To learn from our mistakes Knowing that we're not forsaken They give life to where we've been When we fall and start again Scars remind us who we are Self indulgent, death by cry pride Forgetting all that I've been given But still you never left my side Brought back to life, you healed the broken With arms wide open There's another day To learn from our mistakes Knowing that we're not forsaken They give life to where we've been When we fall and start again Scars remind us who we are I'm aching, I'm breaking Lord I'm suffocating oh Lord wake me and save me Use the abused me Take me and fill me up Today's another day Forgiven of mistakes Knowing that we're not forsaken They give life to where we've been When we fall and start again Your scars remind us who we are There's another day To learn from my mistakes Knowing that we're not forsaken They give life to where we've been When we fall and start again Scars remind us who we Remind us who we are
Blessyou blessyouu Colton...this is the first time i'm listening to his album.(i didn't even know he made an album!!! but i heard the song"everything" from lifehouse on the radio and i remembered Colton singing it on Am Idol..so i searched it on youtube and i ended up finding a whole album of him!!! now i have another favorite christian singer to add in my list!! and i'm proud to shout: Being A Christian Rocks!!!!!! thank God 4u!!
I did the same. I have a disability called Spina Bifida and I used to look at it like it was a horrible thing God did to me but this song reminds me that God did this for a reason and I shouldn't be ashamed of it.
I love Colton Dixon soooooo much for his music, (which is my favorite), his messages through his songs, and for standing up for Jesus no matter what others say or think. He has really inspired me to be a messenger even when its hard. I loved him ever since his first time on idol and I went to see him in concert in March. It was the best thing ever! Thank you & I love you Colton! :)
He is so inspiring! I only just started listening to his songs and they have made the biggest impact on my life! Its so hard to explain, I'm only 13 and even I can see how much God is using him in all of our lives. God bless ya'll! Thank God for Colton Dixon! Praise 'da Lord!
just continue having faith..i understand what you've gone through..Repent and let God speak to you..listen and obey..Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most promising verses I've ever read.God bless you :)
This song is so heavily anointed, Colton! Honestly! Hubby was playing the CD & this song came on and I had to stop talking and ask what it was! I volunteered as an intercessor for The 99 (look it up) and this should be their theme song, honestly! It's helping me to listen to God about that amazing anointing that He's blessed me with for reaching the lost! And, "This is Who I Am"! Thanks Colton, for following Him!
This song helped me get through depression. I would listen to it every morning. It was my anthem. It is amazing to see, after reading the comments, that this song also helped others cope with depression.
We all have a destiny and it is up to you if you want to go to heaven or hell but I think if you listen to his songs you will feel The Lord and you have to trust him and you will have troubles but if you believe in him when you finally die or he comes back you will get to see greatness and be thankful you got the chance to follow God and go to heaven
I love Colton. He is such a beautiful, talented person, and so much more. He is by far the best singer i have ever heard, and the fact that he sings gospel is even more wonderful. This song has taught me that disorders, diseases, acne scars, weight, whatever is weighing you down, just remind you who you are. If anyone out there needs help, remember, that if god needed you to be changed, he would. Either way, all that you need is god's love.
Our faith is special, because it persisted over history and to this day still gives people faith, a reason to live, which is to be the symbol of love through Christ to humanity. Also, there are things in the bible that relate to our modern problems like depression, self harm, eating disorders. The reason why most pagan cults like greek mythos, roman and norse is because if you trace back the roots of the religion, it was made by us humans, our faith was created by God and shown through Jesus.
He is so inspirational. Colton is so beautiful, everything about him. He said at a concert that he lets god live through him to be a messesnger through his music. So inspiational. He said that the inspiration for this was the scars that Jesus has had forever, the scars for us.
Oh yes!! Today is another day God has gifted to us to live and rejoice in his Name. For he is the reason we live and alive in this world. We make mistake to learn from.Thank you Colton Dixon. You truly are a blessing. It's like you took those word out of my mouth and put into a song. :) Love it.
This is my favourite song of Colton Dixon! I can really relate with this song so much! "Brought back to life,You healed the broken,With arms wide open"
He sang this at the Miracle tour and I got teary eyed. I have a disorder called tourettes I look at my tourettes as a bad thing as a scar but it does not have to be a bad thing, scares can be a reminder of how strong I am and that being different is ok. I realize Colton did not write this song like that but that is how God touched me through it.
has anyone ever notice that in like all efforts to spread the gospel, especially on social media, there is always a religious debate. My gosh can't a song just be a song. just before some of us start spreading hate on someone's effort to glorify God, we should examine ourselves because that could put us in danger of being hypocrites. we are not perfect people but God appreciates our effort. so instead of hate, show some support. btw great song colton!
I love this guy! His songs, his style, his conviction - COLTON DIXON rocks! Thanks for stepping up and sharing Christ's love for the world. Oh, and do us all a favor: date Angie Miller!!! Or at least tour together :)
Yeah and it was not just the tone of the songs but the fact that he stuck to God even when he knew it might effect his changes on idol and in the music business.I know you are not a christian but I just have to say that I see God in colton.
He is such a an awesome singer I have a lot of scars and this song speaks straight to my heart!!! I can keep on and forgive those who abused me and I can be forgiven!!! I LOVE YOU COLTON!!!!!!!!! AWESOME VOICE(and hair too:)!! KEEP IT UP YOUR AWESOME!!!!!!
this guy's face reminds me of me big brother's so much , he even had similar hair once , but my brother's drifted so far from God . please pray for him every body , i want my brother back
I've been addicted to the wrong music(you know the bands like black veil brides, avenged sevenfold and slipknot).I thought they were cool and they can help ease the pain that I felt.I'm already a christian but I admit that I made the wrong choice. This song helps me to recover and rise up again from all my mistakes. GOD, thank You so much for letting me hear this song. Thank you Colton for being such an inspiration for your fans
The messages in his songs seem to reflect what people go through on a day to day basis. God speaks truth and grace and mercy through his music. God bless you Colton Dixon. Let us all come to the well and be filled.
I'm good friends with the person Colton wrote this song for, and I honestly hope Colton knows how much this song means to that person! (Being intentionally vague, I don't want to reveal identities)
Colton....Thanks and I dont know how to express the song has touched me .....I am from Ethiopia and my name is Begzi and I hope I will meet you one day... God bless you and your family
You're right - God does love everyone... but does that mean he wants us following idols and false Gods? No... following idols leads to eternal death, and God does not want that for us... he loves us all, and he doesn't want us to follow lies. Christians don't condemn people because they follow other religions. Christians were also lost in sin, and it's only by God's grace that people are saved. Love is important, and so is truth. Love and truth are only possible through Christ.
God, my ego hinders You from me. I wish I listen to you instead of my own voice. Betrayal has led me to ignore and curse You. Forgive me. Drugs and anger and vengeance course through my veins. Will You take this from me and sanctify and renew my strength and give me confidence for the road ahead. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Colton idk if you will see this but thanks I was giving up on singing and on everything and this song helped me I love your voice u have god given talent
AMEN BROTHER! we dont spread the word of GOD because we want to bash them around, if your a christian its your duty to LOVE them enough to tell them about our lord and saviour JESUS CHRIST and what he can do for them.
I went to one of his concerts and he told one of the stories behind this song it is so sad I started to cry all about a girl who had trusted her cousin and was like his best friend and one night she had fallen asleep watching movies with him woken up to him trying to take advantage of her it just shows that although u can forgive u will never forget
