Watching this from Texas, this is sooooo helpful for me to get an idea of the scenery and vibe of campus since I can't actually go there in person right now!! thanks a lot, sending you a virtual hug
I wanted to share that your videos were a huge help for our family when my daughter was applying to Colleges last year during a time when a lot of the county was locked down and college tours were largely unavailable . We found ourselves watching a number of your videos which were as informative as the official Columbia clips. My daughter is now a Freshman at Columbia in her second semester. She'd never been to NYC let along Columbia prior to move in week and NSOP but I would would have to say your vids really helped in preparing her in terms of what to expect. And since NSOP etc she's loved pretty much everything about her experience at Columbia and in NYC. So Thanks!
Wow since I didn’t get to be on campus during my freshman year, I REALLY appreciate these video you’re making!!! I don’t think I’ll be as lost when I arrive to campus this week 😂😂😅
It is soooo cute that you made this video🥺 Columbia U is the place i really want to be and thank you so much for sharing this . AND WE SHARE THE SAME NAME !!!
Thanks Caroline for the campus vlog. Watching from India. I had a question for you, how much does the food cost and if there are any subsidies for Columbia students?
I mean it is an Ivy League university with a 5% acceptance rate. So yes it’s very hard to get into. It’s one of the top universities in the world. Good luck.
A bit late but '25 here Unweighted gpa 3.9, 34 act, number 22 of 800 students, vice president of sc and a summer of research experience were my prominent activities Something like that and great personal statements can get you in (hopefully) All the best!
Hi Michelle! An early congrats to your daughter! Columbia has an open campus, so anyone is welcome to explore the outdoor areas :) There are also guided tours that you and your daughter can sign up for (visit.columbia.edu/content/tours)! Also yes!! A lot of the buildings on campus take inspiration from Ancient Greek/Roman architecture-the iconic Low Library is modeled after the Pantheon in Rome!
I ounce saw this college not the "people" as something but when a person from Carteret "Sarah elalem" started acting the way ....... I didn't change my opinion about the people .
We love our undergrads! But for balance it should be stated here that Columbia acts like a hedge fund and not a university. Where will your $60k+ in tuition dollars go? Not to the graduate instructors who will teach most of your courses! We've been on strike 7 weeks to get a living wage and basic protections against harassment and discrimination. Why has the University let it drag out so long, completely upending the semester for undergrads? Because Columbia cares about money and power, not undergrad education :(
