Columbus Crew Head Coach Wilfried Nancy joined Morning Footy to discuss his experience coaching the MLS All-Star game. He shared his approach to the game against Liga MX, including how he plans to inspire the MLS All-Star players. Nancy also talked about Columbus Crew's success following the Concacaf Champions Cup Final and offered his thoughts on the USMNT job, discussing whether he would be a good fit for the position.

What a fantastic person! Nancy is a good person w high soccer coaching IQ🎯🎯⚽⚽⚽⚽ We would be lucky to have him as our US National Coach. I love Thiery Henry but if we have a choice between the two French managers....Nancy w his in depth coaching and those years of winning as a Coach...that is superior over a great player coaching and angreat coach coaching 🫶🫶🫶🎯⚽

Wilfred Nancy is extremely confident and his demener as a manager will be very good for this group of players in the USMNT. Henry or Nancy as the next Manager

I think mid table team in Europe is more likely.

He'll coach in Europe, definitely. But he's not going to a big team until he proves himself at a smaller one.

Compared to an MLS team it will be a "big team", compared to Europe it could be an average + team. It is possible that a club competing in the Europa League or a club that has the desire to qualify for the Europa League would trust him.

Interesting coach with a good approach. I'm not so worried he'd be busy trying to go and speak at executive leadership conferences too.

..if you are not doing well at the moment like the USMNT, of course any good coach can be the right fit, depending on what the project is. Wilfried can make the USMNT better, because right now they are not good. Now, if you change the question to something more ambitious that's when you're going to have a different conversation. You have to pick a coach for the USMNT who will give you what you don't have as a team which is the EXPERIENCE. Someone who knows already what it will take to beat the BIG National Teams. You only need to win games at the World cup, not reinvent Soccer or create a Miracle. You have to go in with the mentality that any team can beat any team on any given day. So who is that coach who will make the players you have play in a way that they can have a better than 50/50 chance at beating any National Team including the World Champion or any European side. The Coach's Experience is important in the World Cup, which is why all Federations hire or try to hire expert Coaches. The Expert Coach is one who played the World Cup and realized a Good Result, because he understands the different Styles and knows how to adapt and how to win.
