English subtitles can be activated in right corner. Just a quick compilation of the combat scenes from the documentary Norway At War - Mission Afghanistan reuploaded in 720p.
uk is a very nice country to been there a couple of times :) nice street food and from mine pov everyone was very friendly nice and welcoming :) from Norway 🤩
I remember a lot of those faces. Loved our time with the OMLT team from Norway. Loved living out at OP Qusar with them. That year going on missions with the Norwegian Army was awesome
We had a bunch of Brits at our FOBs... Never anything but tea drinkers for us... We pounded coffee by the gallon all day, meanwhile these schmucks had to make tea a whole thing you had to sit down and have... My unit was security for the Corpsman , the only interaction with a Norwegian batt we had was collecting and extracting a casualty.
1:24 appropriate reaction standing next to a 40 mm with no ear protection, simply turn around and laugh about it, maybe norwegians just so chill about the whole ideal, maybe their viking genes deleted the warfare fear. Quite literally, their batllaion insignia has a viking longship on it, not to mention the valhalla warcry.
Regardless of how fearless you are, there will always be fear within you. I don’t really think it’s their Viking heritage that has anything to do with it.
Steve, du hadde ikkje trengt å gjøre dette, men du gjorde det. Som en landsbroder har eg en utrolig respekt for deg og ditt mot, og du skal være stolt for dine handlinger hjelper å trygge verden.
There are about 200 dialects in Norway. Not all of them have this "tune" to it. I speak the Bergen dialect. Sounds like a mix of German, Dutch and French, people tell me.
@@Mortenostad The language is very beautiful. I especially like when women speak Norwegian. Like a song. And while Danish is very similar, but its pronunciation is very different, it is more rigid. Swedish seems to be melodic too, but still it is far from Norwegian. And this is the only thing that makes me learn Norwegian, I just want to listen to and understand Norwegians more. Although I do not live in Norway. But this is the pronunciation, I'm in love with it.
@@starlonga They are serving Norway as a NATO member. NATO went into Afghanistan through an Article 5 resolution when USA got attacked on 9/11 and the Afghan government refused to give up the culprits. Article 5 means an attack on one member is an attack on all of them and that means Norway as a NATO member is OBLIGED to help out and those men and women serving are then serving Norway to help the country carry out its obligations. If you have any other questions just feel free to ask.
You, my friend, have been BRAINWASHED, and you've walked right into the trap. Afghanistan had nothing to do with 911, neither did Iraq. Anyone with an intellect, with a basic understanding of geopolitics and history, affirms this fact.@@feonor26
Hi my friends for me i never been Norway before so I did know about the people's there now too let for me i love you too Monday my birthday Orathai Freby take care right
Thing is the people from the villages that join the ANA have no loyalty they can be fighting with the coalition, then the next day they're gone and fighting for the taliban for money.
They're in extreme poverty because the government treat them like European colonists treated Africans and Native Americans so yeah. No education, ignored and supressed, deliberately excluded via corruption from voting... and so forth. It's a perspective one might not be completely lacking of sympathy or understanding for. Basically: The task unit's task was supposed to help the Afghans being able to govern themselves, but they just don't want to help themselves. It's obstacle at every turn. So the whole situation is in a deadlock.
@@SebHaarfagre the coalition has given them TONS of money for infrastructure and education, just like european colonists turned over massive amounts of functioning infrastructure when they left Africa. Stop making excuses for them squandering what they're given.

@casper6014 I got yelled at by my classmates for failing as a goalkeeper. Meanwhile, they chose me as the goalkeeper even though they knew I sucked at it
And we got girls there. In combat. Taliban hates the idea that they would fall dead from a bulletr fired from a girl. They have to get used to it. Norwegian snipers, Many of the best ones are female.
So Norwegian. Weeks in Helmand for Danish forwards. These guys stand up in "a combat zone" and are getting interviewed. Topped with a cringe whatever like it was a football match. Pff
90% if all combat videos I’ve seen they never know where the shots are coming from and start shooting in every direction. Seems logical to sit tight until you’re hundredpercent sure where it’s coming from.
You are suposed to shoot at the general direction of the enemy because the enemy has no way to know if you see them, it's just returning fire. If you just stay still waiting untill you actually see someone they will close on you and take the change so surround you. You need to make them believe you know where they are until you actually do.
Don Anator you can either dump all you ammunition or wait patiently to be killed, it's your choice. Don't forget that shooting in the general direction is just a temporary mesure, just keep the enemy guessing while you reposition in a safer place or locate them. You should just shoot 2 - 3 bullets each time, not full-auto the entire magazine, so you can shoot a couple times and take a look because maybe you actually hit near an enemy and they may retreat/reposition and then you know where they are. There's no point in discussing this this people have been training for years, they sure know what they're doing.
Don Anator because you know nothing about combat the number one rule in a fire fight is to gian and maintain fire superiority . pin the enemy down and flank him
Cta2006 you are right about that it’s not a competition, however I do believe that, troops who faced far more intense contact deserves a bit more respect! And also, there is a big different between ordinary combat units and special forces, the Danish special forces has also been to hell and back.
I doubt it Fritz. I'm quite sure your grandpa would have more respect for them than for his own grandson who has a need to play tough guy on the internet.
Your making a fool out of yourself by saying that. And also, your grandfather would probably slap you for being so disrespectful towards other veterans.
