Arpon & I have the same thought on moving the Habs 26th pick in a package to grab another top 15 pick & Eiserman is absolutely a candidate for that…my thoughts exactly.

I am for this as the Habs have way to many picks in the next two years. But what do you have to give up to move up that many spots? The Hawks moved up 20th to 18th for additional 2nd rounder.

Iginla already has the iQ and the skill, protects the puck before he even has it. Good passer and finisher Passing up on Iginla will be like passing up on Tkachucks

Grab Senecke and by November you'll look like a genius! He played physical and skilled in the playoffs as a skinny 6'3", hows he gonna do at 6'4 or 6'5" with another 30lbs in a couple years? Get him on the Xhekaj diet and workout plan and were set!

FYI. The draft has been and likely will remain a bit of a crapshoot when choosing draft picks. What may make a player appear good now may not pay out as has been seen repeatedly. Looking for another Makar is unlikely to happen often. Imagine a team made up of players like Suzuki and Ghule in all positions will place you in a great spot. You need players to complement each other to make the team play better and succeed.

MTL is not trading down, they are going for the best prospect available based on their needs, the skills and I interview process. That’s what the Habs picked Slav over Wright and why they pick Reinbacher. So Lindsteom simply makes a huge amount of sense.

No way Demidov gets past Columbus. Waddell drafted Kovalchuk in ATL and Svechnikov in CAR. He’s not afraid of drafting a Russian high. Chicago will take Levshunov, Buium or Parekh. They’ve said that they want a fast team and a PMD helps them accomplish this. Ducks should take a hard nosed forward like Verbeek: Lindstrom or Iginla CBJ - Demidov Habs will take the most NHL-ready prospect there is. They don’t want to wait 3-4 years for a contributor. Hard to tell who that is outside of Celebrini.

I like Iginla best, Catton #2, Senneke #3. In building a team, I imagine when you have a Mailleux & Hutson, you have to believe they or others Rein, Eng, are good enough to make it. An upgrade has to be considered later, right now they NEED a good forward or two, draft them now. If they made a mistake, it was in not looking hard enough last year to see who was coming, we could have taken a forward LAST year and picked a Dman THIS year. We're getting a good player no matter what. Thanks guys.

Flames went through a mini fire sale in 2023-2024. A trade that no one is expecting is Hughes acquiring Rasmus Andersson. Lots of trade pieces available with the Flames. We have 5th OA, they have 9th OA. We also have their 2025 1rst. There’s a good handful of teams looking at that 2026 draft and the lottery for Mckenna. Flames may decide they want to continue down the selling path this summer.

9:17 in the lineup, you have 6 defenseman and 12 forwards. So Montreal needs is way more on a forward.

Assuming Demidov and Lindstrom are off the board, a swap with Seattle makes a lot of sense. Seattle covets one of the premier D’s and the offensive players Montreal would target would be available at 8. Plus, Montreal would pick up prospect capital and/draft capital.

I have a feeling Chicago Anahein and Columbus all go for a D (Levshunov, Silayev, Dickinson, Buium, Parekh ) could all go this early. After all, they all picked a forward last year. That would leave the crazy scenario of having both Demidov and Lindstrom available, I almost don't want that to happen if I'm Kent Hughes, think of the dilemma lol. Pure talent is Demidov, but playoffs projection I kinda like the size/grit/skills Lindstrom brings. PS. Im not mad if they go for Buium. I feel like he's gonna be the best dman in 5 years from now.

At some point you gotta take some risk. Arpon always says that habs won’t ever have a superstar. Well of course they won’t if there is no willingness to put value on high upside/higher risk vs high floor/sure bet. Gotta aim for the fence at some point…

If both Demidov and Lindstrom are both gone by 5, I have no problem taking Silayev. Sure a LD, but the kid is 18, 6'7" 211. He is only 18 and will get bigger. 6'7" D don't grow on trees. Imagine and eventual D corp of: Silayev Guhle Hutson Reinbacher Xhekaj Mailloux One hell of a big D corp (with the exception of Hutson) to play against Also, can't read into them taking players to dinner. They didn't take Slaf or Reinbacher to dinner.

Personally id like to see an scenario like for instance; Montreal's 5th pick plus jordan harris or maybe even matheson for martin Necas and Carolinas first round pick which i think is 27th. Mind you if it was matheson i think something else should come Montreal's way not that this would happen anyway but that's part of the fun. Then after I'd like montreal to trade both first round picks 26 and 27 and probably a second round or third for say the 13th pick then maybe they can get one of the coveted forwards. Either way it should prove to be a fun draft.

9:36 it's not all lane Hudson , are you forgetting Matheson? Montreal is only taking a defenseman if they trade one beforehand , I dont get why you guys keep talking about Montreal taking a dman at 5 ? To start next season we have Matheson/ guhle Hudson/reinbacher Arber/Logan This doesn't even account for savard , struble , Harris, plus more , it's a numbers game and there's only so many spots on the roster .

@@GeoGolfer of course it is , but why are you drafting a dman when you haven't given the majority of the defenseman prospects even a shot in the nhl? Matheson is 29 not 35 ,so he's a perfect bridge until the kids are ready to take over his production

Well thanks guys.. but that was alot to mull over. I really do think that picks 2 to 4 will be (in whatever order) Demidov, Levshunov and Lindstrom. So ..? I can agree that there's risk with Matheson & Hutson, but am not sure that Buium has the speed to get to that level. Parekh.. teams need to build around ie Karlsson. I think that we will take the best fit. But Perron would be a great add and a nice touch.😮

We need to shore up the center position. Newhook and Dach can both play wing. In the pipeline, we in orde Bech, Mesar, Florian in the pipeline. So drafting a center like Lindsrom seems a must at this point. Big, fast and good with the puck. He would be in the line up in two years.

Is the KHL even close to being equal to AHL now with N/A players not wanting to play in Russia. Stats from khl must skewed since the invasion of Ukraine avoid Russian players.

Question: in retrospect, knowing that this year’s crop is unique as far as quality defence is concerned, do you think that the Habs made a « mistake » to pick Reinbacher last year? It sure seems to support the Michkov camp argument.

my draft Wishlist in order of availability Demidov > Lindstrom > Iginla. That being said i don't know their personalities and who would mesh well with our current & future roster so I'll support whatever pick they make as it is more informed than my picks.
