Very good Video tutorial for Combined footing I would like to know detailing procedure as it is showing only bottom reinforcement and no details about shear reinforcement. How to calculate shear reinforcement manually ? I will be waiting for your reply Sir.
Sir excellent tutorial. When we design from etabs or STAAD, we consider max vertical reaction of worst case. So where should be that entered? In dead load value or live load value or We should define load combination separately
In real structures, there is an extremely stiff region within the connections which join columns to slabs. The "Col_Stiff" elements are stiff area elements in which the software amplifies moment of inertia by 100 times to capture the increased stiffness of these connections. The effects associated with modeling these increased stiffness properties within connections include the following: 1. Deflections are more realistic and less conservative in magnitude. 2. Rebar design is also less conservative since reinforcement is designed according to response at the face of the column, and not at the center line of the support. 3. Punching-shear results will change since the stiffness of the areas around the punching-shear perimeter change.
Very helpful tutorial, I was working on safe footings basically isolated, after running i am getting unusual sbc values. Could you please help in that.. what might be the reason?
I have designed a trapezoidal footing and it is showing Shear Failure (under show table option) I have increased the thickness of footing but it is still showing, now what should I do to redesign the footing?
