Combining Backyard Obstacles - Moving em Closer Together

I figured it was time for an update with the obstacles in the backyard. I've gotten tired of mowing all around separate things and it's more realistic if they are tighter together, for back to back obstacles and working on timing.
If your looking for more on how to build these type obstacles, see my playlist on backyard obstacle course.

Looking back to First Year Mototrials....did you ever think you would be doing the things you are capable of in this short amount of time? Way to put in the work!

Thanks Tom. No I didn't. I think I got addicted to the rush of learning new things and honestly just the stress relief. I turn to riding instead of many other possible habits/addictions. Seems to be paying off and it's keeping me in shape.

Thanks for the video. I discovered your material in February when I first started thinking about getting into trials. Expert level now-you have made amazing progress! 👍 I am just finishing my 2011 Gas Gas 250 rebuild, so once it is ready I can start on your course.

Congrats on your progress! Would love a video on the history of the bikes you have owned. What ccs, differences in geometry, engine characteristics and what you loved.

Thank you. I should be able to make that video easily enough. Good idea.

if you were in CO, I would pay to have a 1 on 1 trials lesson with you. You coming from a learner to how you are now is inspiring, but its definitely a challenge for me. Perhaps you can always consider with a larger following base to provide trials clinics for newbies one day lol

Hello, thank you for this amazing content. I've purchased your wheelie tutorial and it's absolutely awesome how detailed and step by step you do it. I'm a long time biker, but only now I started thinking about getting into trials riding to learn control and techniques to help me handle a bigger adv bike. What trials bike would you recommend for beginners? I'm 42years old, 83 kg, nearly 6ft tall. I was thinking about getting a 250 2T gas gas, but they are quite hard to get here in Poland. Is the Gas Gas 300 2T going to be way too much?

Hey there. Shoot me an email and we can connect for a call if you'd like. tom@trialsprogression.com My short answer is I would recommend the 250cc over a 300, any bike brand. Parts and dealer support are the most important thing. You don't want to be stuck not able to get something you need like a clutch master cylinder if you crash. If you've had a 300 2 stroke dirt bike, you could be ok on the 300 trials. They are torquey and you won't need that much power, but if you get a really good deal, I'd say you'll be OK only if you have good clutch control. There's other ways to take them down like smaller front sprocket and black throttle tube. But shoot me and email, I can give you my whatsapp or Facebook so we can set up a call to discuss further
