Jamie is kinda bad considering that he can’t really poke much, his drink levels don’t carry from round to round as it is for everyone else and his dive kick has no priority at ALL

To avoid getting accidental DPs instead of Bakkai, you can do half circle forward instead of QCF.

All you really need to do is press back once to 'reset' yourself so to speak then you can qfc if that's more convenient as well.

After punish counter sHK (usually after a blocked dP), walk forward->sHK->Drive Cancel->cHP. For 3 drive bars this does a chunk and gives you a free drink mid screen.

A bit to add to the drive rush hp punish counter. If done perfectly HP from neutral drive rush will have a startup of 15 frames (Same as HK btw). So you not only can punish EX reversals, but anything that is -15 or more. Supers, some specials, you name it.

I'm always looking forward for your Jamie guides. I'm new to Street fighter, but I have experience from Mortal Kombat games. I want to master jamie since I got my hands on him, and your analysis on the character are really helpful. The only problem I have is that I use a controller and I usually drop combos and miss inputs, and I'm practicing my efficiency on that.

Play lots of the combo trials for many characters, not to learn combos but to practice execution. Youll also be gaining matchup knowledge aswell

Practice makes perfect, it takes a while. I have been playing street fighter since 2014 on a stick, switched to hitbox in december last year, it just feels natural to me. The combo trials are a good way to learn. Just take a couple of hours every day to practice them and after take a break, rinse and repeat! Good luck :)

I’ve used every input method (except hitbox because I can’t afford one) and I’d probably say out of all of them controller is the hardest to gain consistency with. But it is doable. Just keep practicing and it will come.

@@MrBones105 Yeah brother is rough, specially when you mess up during games when you feel like you did the right inputs, but the inputs reading is not as efficient as Mortal Kombat games, for example I realized a little ago that doing the inputs when pressing the buttons closer to the center the inputs go out beautifully, but considering how tiny the buttons are is a big deal to perfect but is doable, I think I can learn to be more consistent with time, thank you.

Personally i hate standing medium punch everyone keeps telling me I should use it more with Jamie but Literally every time I use it I get blown up by DI so I don’t use it at all

Lk bakkai or lk arrow kick are mostly.likely your best bets to find those imo. I've been working on that in the lab and have a few ideas but I will keep those secret for now

Can I have some help with Jamie’s safe jump? After light arrow kick and Bakkai is +42. But Jamie’s jump is 45 frames. I couldn’t get him safely guard the wake up OD DP after safe jump cuz I landed at -3. Is my timing wrong?

Timing is definitely off, just hold up forward after doing bakkai or arrow kick and you should be good!

More Damage and less scaling, I only use rekka below 2 drink levels tbh. I do talk about rekka a bit more in my part 2 of advanced Jamie guide

The light palm can be punished by Ryo slk so it's not 100% safe

If its canceled from St.mk then you are correct, cammy can do the same thing, but in neutral when spaced well can lp palm still leave you +1 on block, vs ryu I'd rather do St.mk into rekka since that pushes me back more

i am laying jamie and i can play with level 8 cpu and execute combos but with random Modern controller player will rain down DI out of nowhere

Try going into a match and look for DI. Don't worry about combos or winning, just practice that and it will go a lot better eventually! Good luck!
