Thanks so much Greg for sharing your shed as well as feed. I wish I could house my piggies in a similar setup but they live in an open bay shed so all of my caging has to be fully wired with doors which makes everything so much trickier! I really admire your dedication to the fancy and your videos have been so helpful since I started my stud in 2022. Love your content!

Thank you for sharing that bran, I feed it to my goats and donkey , never thought about the piggies eating it. I have 12 of the piggies I rescued several years ago. I’d love to get some breeding stock, I miss baby pigs and I loved the shows. Nice tour thank you.

@guineapigswithgreg4575 We’ve moved out to the Hebrides so sadly they couldn’t come with at the time - all gone to other breeders, maybe one day can get some back from their stock. Will get a shed again one day I’m sure. Was just getting the golden agouti where I wanted them when covid came along and then we moved. Would love another crack at them. Rex was my other breed but I was falling out of love with them with itchy coats and entropion in the pups. But great textures and colours. Tort and white I’d love a go at too one day. And I rather fancy these blues. Sucker for DE cream too mind…
Nice to see that you feed wheat bran . This has been revolutionary in preventing bladder stones in my pigs . I also believe it helps longevity. My last two pigs were 7.5 years old. May I ask where you purchase your wheat bran ? Thanks
Hello Greg, thank you very much for your video's! I love watching them. May I ask how and how much you feed your cavies the bran? Do you mix it in with the pellets? I would like starting to give my cavies bran also, but have no idea how much they need. Thank you from the Netherlands!
I feed a bowl of bran every other day, as a separate treat in the mornings…. Cavies going to a show get it every day, do you show your cavies in the Netherlands?

Thanks for posting -I love the look of open pens but how do you manage with vermin ? I live by an old railway line & rats are always a problem even eating through wooden hutches I would be so worried they would get in the shed & cause havoc especially with any litters 🙁
There was a vermin incident last year, which was devastating, but, professionally controlled with traps and poison and the shed is reinforced. But it is a worry when you have livestock ad you want to protect them and ensure they are safe
What kind of average lifespan do you find with the diet you use? Im currently switching diet up after some bladder issues but also trying not to compromise the lifespans, if that makes sense.
I am very careful about over crowding, as I want them to grow big and be as fit as possible and that wouldn’t happen if I put lots in the cage they need to have the space to run around, you can see they all run around and come up to the fronts for cuddles , I handle each of them every day, and they are very tame
@guineapigswithgreg4575 it's a good idea to have dividers that you can change the size as needed to accommodate your needs we currently have 3 girls in an 8x3 c and c (290cm x 110cm)
Hey Greg @mm 7:30 you mention an ingredient and I am not familiar with it. It sounds like "swede" to my ears. Will you elaborate a bit more about it? It may be something not available here in the US. ❤
