This is my favorite Native Brook Trout pond. Located in the mountains, with a little hike in is a gorgeous spring fed pond. These are my favorite brook trout to eat. Cooking these brook trout right after catching them is the best and freshest fish I've every had in Maine.

Nice to see another Mainer uploading fishing content on RU-vid (I wouldn't mind having half the number of subs you have). You did better on one outing than I have all season when it comes to catching trout (I am more comfortable with bass fishing). I wonder if the reddish/ orange meat is from the diet of the trout in that waterway? Craws maybe?

We went with the biologist into this pond to help survey a couple years ago. They found they were eating high amounts of aquatic invertebrates. We’ve actually never pulled a crayfish out of a brookie in this pond but have in others!

Every time I go out fishing my expectations is only one fish... anything else is gravy...lol. invest in a thermacell they work great keeping the skeeters away you can hook it right to your pack.

I try to go deet free, and not heavy on the chemicals. Nothing has ever worked for me. Bugs are just to heavy in wet boggy woods. I have been using TickWise by 3 Moms Organics around the yard and it keeps more bugs at bay

@@AGirlFromMaine I live in Florida near the Everglades. There a Bug Shirt that works pretty well. But most locals try to stay clear of Everglades when it's hot out for bugs...winter (70F) is tolerable on the bug side of things.
