usually getting somewhere for 9 am would be like 'will you get there for 9 am' meaning like not necessarily AT that time but by that time, you might come earlier, but by 9 am you'd be there. you would say 'i got there at 9 am' to say that you got there exactly at 9 am.

I live in a boarder city and shop often in the States. As long as you don’t have cigs or liquor they are pretty lenient. Last time I went, two weeks ago, I spent about $120 and my brother spent about $160. No problem. Mostly, but not all, groceries. They don’t really ask what you have as long as you don’t have booze or cigs. Usually they let you bring in 12 beer with no duty.

I mainly buy groceries which aren’t as likely to get charged for duties! How much are you allowed to bring back? Do u get charged crossing the border?
@Seventizz
@Seventizz 6 месяцев назад
If you bring back under $125 - no tobacco and alcohol, chances are you won't get pulled over and pay duties. Go over that and you risk it. Generally you pay about $14-$20 bucks unless you declare alcohol and tobacco which is much higher.

Trader Joes and Wegmans? Honey, that's not how you cross border shop. No trip to the US is complete without a Tops visit. You pay much less and get the same exact items. You buy two cases of Coke and get three free.

The Canadien healthcare system is terrifying. it's hilarious how Americans dont know that. In Ny & America, every person is covered 100% , never gets turned away & has access to the greatest Healthcare on earth by magnitudes. My ex gf screamed in an energency room for 6 hours! Begging for help , her lung collapsed she had to have her throat cut open. If you cut a finger off , you will sit there & you will wait hours without your finger, and every minute counts. Its scary as hell .. socialism , everything turns to a nitemare

I had septicemia while pregnant in Canada. I was seen stat and the seas parted and I was priority #1. Saved my life. It is all about triaging. If you are really sick in Canada, you are see immediately. Canadians who make our system sound like we are dying while waiting in emerg are grossly exaggerating. More Americans die from lack of affordable Healthcare than Canadians ever will.

@gregp5254 I used to go, not for groceries, but for a change of scenery. If I want to go elsewhere in Canada or beyond, it takes a long time and $$. I live maybe 45 minutes from the nearest border crossing at Peace Arch and 2,500 miles from Toronto or 10 hours to London. These days, I don't bother going, partly due to the chance of having a medical emergency in the insane state of health care there.
