Simply Fabrics is THE BOMB! I loveeeee it! Great service and usually a few printed silks which are difficult to find. They have two shops on the same street, the one you went to focuses more on fabric and the other more on haberdashery items.

Nice to see you in Brixton 😜. Use to leave near Brixton and it's got lots more shops & stalks you need to explore - for more fabrics and haberdashery. Also a departmental store opposite the market that stuck haberdashery as well. Well done 👍🏾 to you Priscilla.

I’ve lived in Brixton my whole life.. and maybe 5-6 years ago the atmosphere was more hostile, but the area has been gentrified a lot of the roughs have gone and even I have noticed he vibe of people has changed, he was wrong to scare you like that, Brixton is a bustling place with lots of cultures and it’s a lovely place, I’m sure you and your camera would have been safe xx

I moved to Brixton in 2009 and while it is super gentrified now I've not personally felt that there's been any times that filming someone would get your camera smashed.

Thanks dear. I have been to Camden market!!! It’s so fun. There’s so much to see and they have a lot of food stands, so the aroma of delicious food fills the atmosphere of the market 👌

Thanks for taking us along with you to Brixton. I’m jealous it looks awesome. I am from Manchester originally, but lived in London Ontario for the last 44 years. I really thought you were going to show us the diamond fabric, I like what you did buy though. Val🇨🇦

Kim you are amazing. Thank you so much for all your tutorials. They have been really helpful. Please can you advise on where I can get skin like fabric to buy in the UK?
@KimDave
@KimDave 6 лет назад
You welcome Rubies. You can try the major fabric markets, Shepherd's bush, Walthamstow, Dalston, or Soho. I haven't gotten any for myself so I can't say for sure where you will find it.

That yellow is amazing! I’m limited to shopping for fabrics on Etsy because the only brick and mortar stores to buy fabric are big chains :( speciality fabric stores in my area are way out of budget. Sellers on Etsy have gorgeous fabrics available but I don’t know what they feel like or get a feel for the weight until I get them

You can try Amazon. I have gotten one fabric from Amazon. Or Fabricland.com. I ordered from them once and the material was quite nice.

Nice ! Pls I've been meaning to ask if you could help in calculating quantity of fabric for a cloth say circle dress or a blouse,thank u.
@KimDave
@KimDave 6 лет назад
The amount of fabric you need for a garment depends on a number of factors; the design, size, personal preference e.t.c. This is something that you have to decide yourself. And then when you have your patterns done, You can easily place them on the fabric to see how much fabric you need.

I liked the beautiful yellow fabric but it looked like it's not straight on grain, can you pull it straight? I sure hope so. Good luck!

I really loved that video 😻 I'm from Germany and I noticed that all the fabrics here are sooo expensive because normally you pay about 10-12 euros per meter of jersey. So as a student I spend such a huge amount of money in fabric and it's actually quite hard to find some less expensive one. So you really have to know people and share fabric when you have something you don't need anymore. At the moment I'm in Barcelona and that's actually heaven because here are lots of tiny markets with for me extremely cheep and beautiful fabric. I really love all of your videos and when I'm back home I'm looking forward to make some of your Diys with my new fabric 😽😽

So what I want to add is that i once found a shop with Ankara fabric and to be honest the prints were super beautiful. But then I asked the lady who sold this fabric how much it costs and she was like 17.5€ per meter. But she already cuts up from 20cm. But what can one sew with 20cm 😹😹😹 and the fabric was by hollandtex and felt like paper.
