Discover some of the best wetland wildlife that north Norfolk has to offer as I follow some of the Norfolk coast path at Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT) Cley marshes.
In this short narrated nature film you can expect a wide variety of wetland and wading birds including lots of different species of waterfowl but also some of the mammals that have set up home along the coast.
Here is a list of the species featured:
Brent geese, Little egret, Turnstone, Grey seal, Pintail duck, Northern shoveler, Whooper swan, Bar tailed godwit, Teal, Chinese water deer, red throated diver, Wigeon and maybe a few other bird species.

It's neat to see a few familiar species across the pond. Also a few of their close cousins. We definitely don't have fanged deer though.

When you popped out at the end I thought you were going to start with “And on that bombshell!” 😆😆 Great video Liam, and yes I have had the same frustration as you and others around the world indeed of reserves being closed. But doorstep birdwatching is more than exciting. I’ve just seen my first little flock of Redpoll in the bushes 😍 Who says you need to travel to get good birdwatching. Take care pal. Stu

Ahhh! I missed such a trick there! This was filmed back in December before the stay local conditions were put in place so I thought it might have been open but its fine, there was a lot to see anyway. I luckily filmed a few more videos before full lockdown came into affect so have a months supply at least, which is good. And then, if things haven't eased up there are loads of good wildlife spots within walking distance of home so perhaps i'll explore some of them :) Cheers!

great video I'm making my first long documentary (1hr and a half) on 5 different habitats of norfolk but covid has made it harder got some footage of deer birds and stoat but its hard cos I cant drive anywhere cos im 15 but your mini documentry's really helped
@AShotOfWildlife
@AShotOfWildlife 3 года назад
Thank you. Which five habitats are you going to do it about? I havent been able to film stoat yet, I've been quite lucky with Otters, foxes and other large mammals but stoats, weasels and badgers still allude me.
@liamwilliams2953
@liamwilliams2953 3 года назад
@@AShotOfWildlife I am doing grassland, woodland, heaths, freshwater and the coast. I got quite lucky with the stoat and for badgers I’ve got a friend who is rewinding their farmland and they often film the badgers in there so I will camp out there and hopefully get some good footage at some point

Fun fact: the distance that Swan has flown is comparable to the length of the ring road around Iceland, but at 850 miles it has travelled a little further, I think the ring road is about 830 miles.

@@GillRant Cheers Liam. For the fun fact and the feedback. I actually had different music on that bit on my first export of the video but decided having soft piano all the way through was a bit too much. I think the music is the hardest part of putting together one of these videos and might try selecting music first for the next one and then editing everything else to fit that. I hope you are holding up okay!

Your wee films just keep getting better mate. That Red Necked Grebe was a good find. Was it a life-tick for you? Love the wrap-up at the end with you popping up out of the metal igloo! Brilliant! :-) Big thumb's up from me buddy!
@AShotOfWildlife
@AShotOfWildlife 3 года назад
Cheers mate! Yes, the Diver was a 1st for me but they are getting more common on the coast here so im sure I will see them again in the future. I just really want to see a snow bunting, have you ever seen one? Getting into the metal igloo was quite a struggle for someone as deceptively tall as me :) Im pretty sure its an old gun post or something /to do with the war.
