I liked the first house the most. It was the only one that felt homely to me. The last one was just a show home. Can't imagine anyone actually living in it, but was just too big and the garden was like a Disney theme park. When houses are that big they just become showy museums in my opinion. My favourite is MaCenna's comfort cottage.

As fancy as these houses were, I just feel like the one you're building in Texas has SOOO much character! The location is lovely though, loved the backyard in that first house! Love seeing Romeo's Mama in this one!! Have a good day MaCenna!!

Anyone else get dizzy from the camera moving around too fast? Glad you and Romeo are having fun house hunting. My husband and I like to go to open houses too, just to see what there is and to get ideas of what we want when we get ready to buy or build a home. It's fun to plan and daydream/brainstorm about what you want your home to be like. 😁

I am always kind of in shock when I realize how big the houses in America are! In Italy, most of us lives in 100 square meters maximum, or even less 🥲🥲🥲

Oh my gosh, I could tour homes all day long! I am fascinated with seeing different houses. I used to drag my three boys when they were young to open houses every Sunday & if I ever saw a flyer out in front of a house for sale, we would stop & they would fight over whose turn it was to get out of the car & grab it, lol. I love your videos and look forward to each one, but remember when you see something, like in your open house tours, when you would say how you hated certain items, that might be something that your subscribers might have in their house. That was a turn off.

I loved the 1st house. A few cosmetic changes and it's perfect..

I realize how old and tired my house is. When you look at things that are so pretty and I compare it to my poor old house. Then you say, this has gotta go, this is awful…..and all I can think is send it to me. These houses are stunning.

Just entertainment for sure, I love looking at them sometimes. But I have many friends who live big like that and are purely miserable, never finding happiness because they keep looking for it in things. It's so sad. Every morning I sit on my front porch and watch the sun rise over my small home on top of a mountain, tend to my garden, and thank God for all his blessings on me. As you get older, you appreciate things more that actually matter. Like knowing where you will go when you die, having a close relationship with God, and family. I couldn't be more content and at peace, am happier than I've ever been in my life. And that is worth more than gold. Can't wait to see more renovations! Or thrift store shopping! :)

I LOVE the 1950s first house & the last one so much.....AND can I just say that so far your kitchen back in Texas couldn’t be more perfectly chic and sophisticated and a perfect compliment to your dining room with the depth of the black & matching your windows! Oh I am in LOVE with it. Great creative job!!! I can’t wait for the rest of it!

That last house was incredible. the bathroom with the table was awesome and the huge bedroom was outstanding. I love the outdoor water features you saw and the huge pantry, OH MY>

Oh wow! I would feel lost in any of those houses. They are huge! I loved the back yard in the last house. It was so pretty and peaceful.

Thanks MaCenna and Romeo for the house and property tours. It's so cool to take a look and get inspiration and ideas for your own home. My personal favorites were the first home for the interior and that last home for the exterior pool and gardens. Our current home is 5,200 square feet. I find it much easier to maintain and keep clean over a smaller home. Because room sizes are larger, they're easier to sweep, vacuum, and dust. There's also more storage to reduce clutter and put away seasonal items. Anyway, best of luck to you both on your house hunting journey. I am looking forward to more enthusiastic videos. Please don't ever dull your sparkle! It makes you, you. Seeing other people get excited makes me happy. XO 💜

I would never want to live in those huge houses. It doesn't feel like a home but some luxurious boarding house. Unless you have ten kids or a sports team living with you it is just so wasteful and random. I would take your Texas house over any one of these enormous structures devoid of any character or meaning. Although a pool would be nice 🙃 And maintenance, cleaning, and just upkeep of such homes 😩

It is amazing to me what people think they need! I am too practical for large homes. All the maintenance and associated costs are not for me. I often wonder if people who live like that are happy! You two probably need a new build so you can customize it as to how much you can afford. FYI……video was to fast moving and made me dizzy at times. Let’s go back to the cottage in Texas! LOL

🤣🤣🤣 “The ceilings are a little low.” Girl! Compared to your Texas house, any other ceiling is gunna feel like a hobbit house! The last time you went house hunting, you said you were just looking… and you ended up with a house! Exciting!

Thanks for taking me along. So fun. My mom used to drag me on these open houses in second grade. All day long! Sometimes Saturday & Sunday. We had just moved into the ugliest house. Right off my Dad painted the entire outside from poop brown to yellow. Did landscaping all on weekends. I see now what Mom was doing. Fifty plus years later she's in the same house. It's perfect. Wow I loved House 3! I agreed with you, I would change a lot of the finishes like the cabinets and the countertops, but I liked the layout and the location and it had the perfect amount of rooms! Master bed, 2 bedrooms, and 2 offices!

The last house was amazing, I was in awe!! Loved all the walnut colored wood and the art and the outdoor area 🧡 but my favorite was the kitchen!

This is one of my favorite activities! I agree, research is important 😉. I wonder if you’ll end up having a similar issue to me though. I feel like, at a certain price point, and a certain caliber of materials, I feel bad or wasteful ripping it out. Like, can’t stand this very expensive stone they put all over the place, but there’s no way I can replace it all. So, while I love the updated new stuff, I end up gravitating to the houses that need a total gut reno because I have no problem ripping out old gross linoleum haha.

The housing market is so crazy in CA, which is why everyone is flocking to TX. Those houses were lovely, but cold. Most likely because they’re staged and not up for how real people live. Macenna, it’s a good thing you have mad carpentry skills, because you would spend YEARS building all the furniture for a house of that size! 🥰 I’m so glad you’re having fun! 💕🌸

Love visiting homes for sale but these houses have to be multi-millions of dollars. I have a 3 bedroom 1200 sq ft bungalow in Orange County CA and my house is worth over 1 mil. and it is small. Can't even fathom what these are selling for in the LA area. Great way to get ideas though!!

When it comes time to landscape your LA home you should check out Laura Eubanks. She has a company called design for serenity and they work magic with plants. They mostly use succulents to be water wise for Southern California and their gardens look so lush and interesting. Laura has a RU-vid channel where she shares her genius and I get loads of inspiration. Highly recommend.

Kitchen comments: The house that had a garden or bay window by the stove: all I could think was how greasy and messy it would get when cooking. Ditto for the house with the burners on top the countertop! If those were marble counters, they would get stained pronto!

This was allot of fun! Being from Ontario Canada it’s fun to see houses in other areas and what you get for the money. The housing market here is absolutely insane. $1.6 mil would not get you a house as nice as that first one. My house is 1000 sq ft and just a yard no property and would go for about $700,000

You should see what househunting is like in San Francisco. Dingy little shack for over 1 million. We decided to buy out of the area!
