We had so much fun and learned so much. I forgot to mention the class that Mark took on Building Soil with Kyle Grumke. He was so good at showing great examples to make the participants remember what he was teaching.
This was a small but packed expo. It was so nice for it to be so close to home. We are only 45 minutes away from Warrensburge so it was a nice drive!
I want to thank Anne Trokey from Burr Oak Farm and A&D Farm as well as Melissa Sisk of Fletcher Creek Homestead for all the work they did organizing this event! It was great!
Blessings to all of you on your learning journeys,
Penny and Mark

Homestead expos - another reason to look forward to moving back to KC! ♥ Warrensburg makes me think of many trips down to the Lake of the Ozarks. 😃 It was interesting to hear about the rules / regs for selling at an expo/farmers market in MO.

Maybe you’ll be here and settled by the next one and we can go together. It was very interesting even if I’m not thinking about doing it. I loved learning about it. Blessings on your day sweet friend! 😁❤️

This was a fun day out - thanks. I was surprised to learn that washing produce invites bacteria! I usually wash all produce that I bring from the store before adding to my fridge. I will continue that for store bought stuff but be mindful of what I bring inside from my garden. The cheese making class would certainly have been interesting but there are great shows on-line, also. I follow The Happy Homestead and she participated in a once a month new cheese to make and we got to follow and then later watch as she used it. She is really careful about safety and cleanliness so leaving me able to copy. Haven't made any yet but I will - if only in my dreams (White Christmas). I LOVE CHEESE, being born and raised in Wisconsin, I'm a cheese head! She did another challenge for us - making a new type of bread that she had never tried before but wanted to. That was fun, also. Keep Mark away from the compost bin as we may need to visit him in prison when I come up for coffee.LOL

Hi Mary! 😁 I think washing veggies at home is great. If fresh veggies are not completely washed and handled a lot that is where the problem arises. I was so surprised at this rule. Thanks for the new channel to check out! I love those challenges! I too am a cheese head! (From Illinois though 🤪) Yes, we will keep mark away from the compost for sure! Definitely need him here when you come for coffee! 😜 Talk again soon dear friend! ❤️
