Today I give an inside look at a supermarket in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and share the cost of the groceries. Enjoy! #addisababa #ethiopia #africandiaspora
Don’t get discouraged with what ppl have to say. We would like to watch your experience living in Ethiopia. I have been living in the states for the past twenty years and planning to go back soon, your experience is important in the process. Working on your Amharic skills helps you in many way.
i know its hard but don't take the hatefull comment to heart. They most likely jealous. you doing fantastic. i'm ethiopian and i very much enjoy your content
We do the same with our groceries, get bread from the bakery, fish from the fish market, meat from the butcher, chicken from the chicken farm, fruit from the fruit stand. The chain super market is where we get our processed foods, pastas, snacks, cheeses and such. Show your haters love and wish them happiness. Unhappy people often wasn't to pass their misery on to others that appear joyful.
Hi sister, thanks for your videos on shopping with prices, seems to be affordable and I thank you I’m hoping that I’ll be ready soon to make the move, thanks for everything 🙏
Good Grief a kilo of meat 700? I should be back and return to my previous life and become a rancher. My Daddy and I sold livestock for a few hundred. It's hard to believe how much the country has changed in 20-30 years.
Recently found your channel and enjoying each video. The store credit issue seems complicated. I would’ve probably insisted for my money back. Also, pls ignore the stupids. It’s those who are brainwashed by the West’s misinformation of the black population in the U.S. Keep your videos coming and you’re entitled to live there and call Ethiopia your country as much as anyone there.
The strawberries seemed very affordable. Seems like the produce section is very affordable and everything else a little expensive like the cookies and milk.
Hey 👋🏾 I’m permanently moving to Ethiopia within the month and wanted to know what do you and your husband do for source of income also did you wait for the 2 years for the yellow card or did you do it right away? My wife is Ethiopian and we’ll make 2 years married, we were advised to wait the 2 years and then start the process for the yellow card. Any advice and tips are always appreciated 💪🏾
Both! You can bring USD to exchange and use your debit card at ATMs. You’ll only be able to use a credit card at large establishments and most places don’t accept dollars.
@@princesslivingfree so do you think it would be better to buy a car in Kenya and just bring it to Ethiopia? And thank you for responding. Even though my wife is and from Addis, we still watch each and every one of your videos.
@@drewcarter6324 Aw, thank you 😊. I’m actually not sure if that’s a better idea. I don’t know the costs of cars in Kenya. I do know some people buy from places like Dubai and pay someone to ship it to Ethiopia with their own load. This typically works out to be cheaper.
The tax you would pay bringing a car from Kenya would be huge. Also, it's not allowed as Kenyan cars are right hand drive, the opposite way to Ethiopia. Only left hand drive cars are allowed.
Yes, we eventually plan to buy a car, but cars are quite expensive in Ethiopia. Our main focus right now is finishing our house. For Ride, you can call or use the app. For bajaj, you can flag them down or go to the areas where they park.
