I’m struggling with my mental health right now to the point where scripture study has become something painful and fearful that I’ve avoided doing all day. I was scrolling on RU-vid and accidentally clicked this video. I like to start scripture study by listening to a hymn, and I love this song so much. I know this is not a coincidence. Time to read whatever verses I can.
I struggle with anxiety... I know that Heavenly Father loves you and He is there for you ❤ I know this video and comment are pretty old but I just wanted to share my testimony of that in some way if it could maybe help somebody
Oh l do hope you are feeling more stronger, these days! Every good step, you take is a step, were you get closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. Little by little, line upon line! 👍 Happy New Year, and God bless you! 🤗
@@leonardmarcel9084 I respectfully disagree. One of the greatest truths I've had the joy of learning is that we will all have the opportunity to return home with our brothers and sisters to live with our Father in Heaven for eternity. I hope all is well with you and yours in this exceptionally difficult time!
I sang this in my dad’s ear as he passed away. We had a beautiful violinist play it at his funeral. It’s been 3 years and I haven’t been able to listen to it. When it popped up as the first thing on my RU-vid feed I knew it was from my dad so I felt brave enough to listen. It’s so heart wrenching but I’m glad it was sent to me. I love you dad 🌟🤍🌟
If you haven’t seen it, search this song and listen to the one they do in the Tabernacle with the orchestra. It’s even more moving than this one, to me.
I know your post is several years old, but I just ran across it. I, also, have a daughter named Joey. I was recently very close to death. Too close. Joey played a crucial part in why I survived, and my recovery since. I can think of no sweeter passing then what you described for your father. Thank you for sharing that moment with us.
Everytime this hymn is sung, I can feel the Holy Ghost as if someone poured a pitcher of hot water from the crown of my head and it just trickles down to my toes. Seeing that choir members emotions pouring out greatly added to that Spirit! My all time favorite hymn.
Some religions teach that when we go to heaven we will sing praises to God for the rest of eternity. We Mormons believe we don't have to wait until we get to heaven. What a powerful song and choir.
Jared V I grew up Methodist, and we also sing praises to our Lord. As beautiful as this is, can you imagine how amazing it will be when we all are in Heaven singing praises to Him?? I don’t think our human hearts and minds can comprehend the Greatness!🙏🏻💜
It breaks my heart a little beat to see that man crying. He said they were tears of joy to be singing such a beautiful hymn in such a marvelous choir. I totally understand it, I cry of joy everytime i hear this
If that doesn't convert you to the savior, I don't know what will. Absolutely gorgeous! I have a recording of this song on my phone but this is probably the best I've ever heard them sing it.
This song can soften even the hardest of hearts there is power in music and this song is proof of that, those who dont feel the power of this song have clouded their minds and have fallen to satans temtations, but their day will come when they learn to live thy gospel and to live life as he did.
I don't know how you can watch this without tears streaming down your face and your testimony strengthened by this beautiful song. quit cutting onions, honey!!
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing Tune my heart to sing Thy grace Streams of mercy, never ceasing Call for songs of loudest praise Teach me some melodious sonnet Sung by flaming tongues above Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it Mount of Thy redeeming love Here I raise my Ebenezer Here there by Thy great help I've come And I hope, by Thy good pleasure Safely to arrive at home Jesus sought me when a stranger Wandering from the fold of God He, to rescue me from danger Interposed His precious blood Oh, that day when freed from sinning I shall see Thy lovely face Clothed then in the blood washed linen How I'll sing Thy wondrous grace Come, my Lord, no longer tarry Take my ransomed soul away Send Thine angels now to carry Me to realms of endless day Oh, to grace how great a debtor Daily I'm constrained to be Let that goodness like a fetter Bind my wandering heart to Thee Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it Prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above
I told myself tonight that I would find this exact one by the choir. The gentleman crying while singing has been in my memory for four years and tonight I got to hear and see it again. This one is so moving! My heart yearns to be with them singing it. I am not a singer, but my heart sings it just as loud and true. He will come again!
I remember Dad enjoyed this song while laying on his death bed. He looked so peaceful and acknowledged that he could still hear. You also sang it on his grave site. What a heavenly melody.
Such a beautiful hymn and lyrics I can relate to. Jesus sought me when a stranger Wandering from the fold of God He to rescue me from danger Interposed His precious blood
I was lucky enough to be in the building when this was sung. I will NEVER forget the power of that moment and the way music and the spirit filled the room. Thank you for archiving these videos so I can relive moments like this.
My favorite song sung by the best choir!! I love everything about this song. You can literally feel the Spirit. Thank you to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Very beautiful and very powerful!!
Tears flow, because one time or another, our hearts wandered, left the God we love :') but despite all of that. . . They are willing to take our hearts and seal it to Them.
Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above The gentleman in tears was so moving and touching...I love this hymn so much.
y’all look at the 3 first sopranos at 5:22, you can see and tell how powerful those notes at the end and it’s like a piece of cake to them. Those are some super high notes
This was sung so beautifully, and it made me bawl! Eve my five year-old daughter thought it was pretty and asked me to rewind it so she could hear it again. Thank you for providing us with such beautiful music that brings the Spirit.
This beautiful hymn starts as soft and as the hymn goes on the build up to the last verse will have you in tears you feel how STRONG the spirit carries you as if this were you entering the Gates of Heaven.. To know the Church is True is for one to seek out for themselves in these trying times.. This Hymn is what everyone struggling through human battles must know they are not alone and can fight through all hardships in this life..
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it Prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, oh take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above ☝ These words I hold on too My sweet Jesus😢
I can't stop watching this! So amazing, so powerful, and so spiritual! It's really hard not to feel this spirit with this song and you can tell that every member of the choir can feel it. ❤
Anyone who has sung in a choir knows the terror of singing a capella (without accompaniment), knowing that the instruments will be coming back in, and if you have slipped off pitch it will be painfully obvious! Here the women start a capella, and when the organ comes in at :34 they are RIGHT ON. Then the men take the chord at 2:05 and start singing a capella in new key. The women join them, and when the organ comes back in at 3:04 the entire choir is still perfectly on pitch. So difficult to pull off! And how about Richard Elliott on the Conference Center organ!!!
How any of them manage to sing some of these hymns without breaking down I just don't know. I have trouble at church sometimes....this is such a gorgeous song.
1 Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above. Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it mount of God's redeeming love. 2 Here I find my greatest treasure; hither by thy help I've come; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God; he, to rescue me from danger, bought me with his precious blood. 3 Oh, to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee: prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here's my heart, O take and seal it; seal it for thy courts above. The Psalter Hymnal, 1987
Some times music sounds like heaven. It carries me calling comforting me , the voices echoing a eternal rest to a place far off looking back and close by moving forward , cradling the earth beneath me soothing my soul , holding me , softly healing and reaching places that be so far away opens me up Quickening the long haul basking beauty all around comfort taking my troubles away renewing strength a miracle happens the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
Wow thanks for sharing that beautifully and profound written comment. I like stuff like this

Belo hino, superiormente interpretado quer vocal quer instrumental. Não frequento esta Igreja, minha formação é católica embora tambem não vá com assiduidade aos cultos, mas respeito todas as formas sinceras de louvor a Deus. Muito belo.
Humanity is capable of such awe inspiring beauty and shameful destruction. That nearly incomprehensible duality seems impossible absent the understanding of the elements at work in our hearts. While there is clearly a dark force at work in the natural man, the element of refinement which edifies and inspires creativity is the selflessness imprinted on us by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Want a solution to the world's problems? It is found in that gospel and the moderating, pacifying, love promoting, patient selflessness it donates to every human being that adopts and practices it. Though the conflict between the natural man and selflessness rages within me and I remain frustrated by my tendency to wander from the God I love, like the weeping singer in this video, I know truth when I see and hear it and am inspired to tears by it.
I always rejoice when the organ comes in during the end of the first verse and the choir ladies have kept the pitch, because I've been there, done that with the Arizona Mormon Choir. Here, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir did the best job I've ever heard with this beautiful hymn. I was sobbing with emotion at the power of God's spirit as I heard it live (over TV). I wasn't alone. A couple of choir members I know amply demonstrated how they were affected at singing praises with this gorgeous arrangement. Well done. Well done!
Hello! I'm pleased to know you. A capella singing certainly has its terrors, but even more so when you know an accompanying instrument is going to join you at some point. Best wishes to you in singing with the So Cal Mormon Choir.
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing Tune my heart to sing Thy grace Streams of mercy, never ceasing Call for songs of loudest praise Teach me some melodious sonnet Sung by flaming tongues above Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it Mount of Thy redeeming love
I have received personal revelation since a child of the truth that God leads His church through his Prophets in each dispensation of time. Worthy is the Lamb! This is the very sacred message of the Cross! GOOD NEWS! (Truth in a nutshell) Through the Power of the Atoning Grace of Jesus Christ, "ALL" people will be resurrected and saved from physical DEATH.The eternal glory we receive will depend on our faithfulness.Through the grace of God, all can be saved from their sins (see 2 Nephi 25:23; Helaman 5:10-11) as they repent and faithfully follow Jesus.
As Enos, son of Jacob, son of Lehi wrote in his old age concerning his preachings and spiritual experiences: "I [...] have rejoiced in it above that of the world." I'm amazed how much joy and rejoicing I can take from the spiritual message of this Church! It is absolutely breath-taking to me.
This is only a taste of what the music and singing will be like in Heaven. Only a taste. Almighty God has so much in store for us. Everyone will not stand before Christ. Only the unsaved. If you have Christ in your heart, and you have accepted him as your Lord and Savior, you will NOT stand at the great white throne of judgment. Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
