This is one of the powerful hymns that they sang. Like c'mon, the arrangement, the dynamics, everything... I can hear the angels singing with them... So powerful that I feel joy and comfort.
I was totally in tears inside the conference center while they were singing this beautiful rendition. My soul delighteth in the song of the heart. The song of the righteous is a prayer unto D&C 25:12. Thank you Motab for sharing your talents with the rest of the world. LET US ALL PRESS ON Y'ALL !!!
This is so very beautiful!! It brings tears to my eyes!! Fear not... Courage... An unseen power... the Lord is on our side... the Lord alone we will obey!! ❤❤❤
I loved this hymn when it was presented at general conference and have listened to it almost weekly since. It brings a Spirit that calms my heart and gives me the courage to carry on in a darkening world. "If we do what's right we have no need to fear".
I'm supposed to be in a performance of this arrangement later today. Our choir director asked us to watch this, so we could get a better feel for what we're going for. I wish we sounded this good. But, we'll do our best.
Let us all press on in the work of the Lord, That when life is o'er we may gain a reward; In the fight for right let us wield a sword, The mighty sword of truth. Fear not, though the enemy deride, Courage, for the Lord is on our side; We will heed not what the wicked may say, But the Lord alone we will obey. We will not retreat, though our numbers may be few, When compared with the opposite host in view; But an unseen power will aid me and you In the glorious cause of truth. Fear not, though the enemy deride, Courage, for the Lord is on our side; We will heed not what the wicked may say, But the Lord alone we will obey. If we do what's right we have no need to fear, For the Lord, our helper will ever be near; In the days of trial His saints He will cheer, And prosper the cause of truth. Fear not, though the enemy deride, Courage, for the Lord is on our side; We will heed not what the wicked may say, But the Lord alone we will obey. [X2] We will obey The Lord we will obey We will obey The Lord we will obey We will obey
I was sitting with my ward's missionaries at the Whittier Stake Center during Conference and the Sisters knew what that the hymn was my favorite hymn in the entire book and what it meant to me and were singing along when I sang with it.
I pray the saints in the Ukraine could listen to this powerful gift from Heaven that they may find that courage in this their hour of of defending their homes, their children, and their religion As Captain Moroni declared
Well put! This is more than positive feel good stuff. It's empowering based on spiritual reality - the battle is immediately before us. I am so thankful for God's scriptural prophecies; we KNOW He needs a prepared and engaged covenant people. 🙏‼💪
I believe that this has just become my 2020 HYMN OF THE YEAR!!! This video was the closing hymn for the North East Conference broadcast on November 22, 2020, after Elder/President Eyring finished speaking.
You can't help but feel good listening to this great sound. If heaven sounds like this, then I don't mind labouring my soul to living the standards set by the Lord. Thank you choir.
Beautiful rendition of "Let us all press on". It was a very emotional an amazing feeling came upon me as I listen to this hymn at the afternoon session at the conference center. Thanks again for a generous member who gave my tickets at the conferences center.
This is one of the few songs they sing, that was not arranged by Mack Wilberg, but rather, Richard Elliot, one of the organists. I doubt anyone other than an organist could have arranged this song like this. The driving force is the organ. This arrangement is so complete and full. Such a rich tone. Beautiful.
Thank you. I have been praying also for several hours accompany with the soft sound of the Tabernacle choir. Amazing experience. I felted God presence. He heard my prayers.
This is the exact arrangement we did at my Stake's stake conference some years back...and since then, I have never stopped loving to listen to this musical number
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1VNGIQ51aiw.html I think Richard Elliot’s arrangement sounds so similar to the way the Broadway Mary Poppins “Step in Time” was arranged by George Style.
If you view THAT (sharing factual information to make rational, informed decisions) as trolling, imagine how the rest of the world views the LDS missionary efforts. I'm 100% serious. Regarding your accusations, Alma said "if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, WHICH ARE TRUE." By your own definition, a belief in things that are NOT true constitutes a misguided belief, not faith. I'm not hurting others' faith by sharing truth, just as informing flat-earthers that the earth is actually spherical isn't destroying the flat-earther's faith. Regarding your quote, imagine you had an abusive, lying, gaslighting schoolteacher growing up. Eventually you open your eyes and recognize the lies and abuse she committed. Do you say nothing and "leave her alone" to keep abusing and lying to future students, or do you speak up to warn the general public of the fact that she is abusive and manipulative? I would hope you choose the latter. For this reason it would offend my integrity to just leave this alone. LDS Prophet Joseph Fielding Smith said of Joseph Smith: “He was either a prophet of God, divinely called, properly appointed and commissioned, or he was one of the biggest frauds this world has ever seen. There is no middle ground.” (see Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, Pages 188-189) President Gordon B. Hinckley said: “Each of us has to face the matter - either the Church is true, or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. It is the church and kingdom of God, or it is nothing.” Before you pay 10% of your money to the church, I would urge you to do some real research on church history. Because if it is false, there is no middle ground and you are throwing away at least 10% of your money and over 14% of your time. Have a nice day!
Comparing your work to that of missionaries has some gaping holes my friend. First off missionaries are prohibited from proselyting near areas pertaining to others faiths. They would never think of disrespecting like that. As far as the book goes it presents absolutely no new evidence. This garbage isn't "the never before seen truth" it's the same rhetoric that's always existed in church history. Try listening to Hugh Nibley's discourse titled "How to write an anti-mormon book". People fall away from the church because their testimony of the church was built upon people, Joseph smith, Young, your bishop or whoever it may be and when these imperfect humans make errors they're "a fallen prophet" or a fraud. In other words after coming across anti-church material they put their trust in the arm or flesh. "When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves" One must have a testimony born of the Spirit. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Imagine how many would leave the church today if one of the first presidency was put in Peter's position and denied the Christ. Yet we still except Peter as president of the early church. Tearing down is easy, inspiring and presenting solutions not so much. If you feel that way you ought to be inspiring not attacking.
