I love how transparent you are about not buying things! I've been trying to be much more intentional about my thrifting too, it's so easy to overconsume at thrift stores. I appreciate the reminder that it's okay if you go thrifting and don't buy anything! It makes the good finds more special too :)
You could always make the denim maxi skirt out of a pair of jeans, it's a simple project, & this way it's easier to find the perfect denim colour & fabric as there's loads of jeans to choose from!
I’m back…you ask “Why do I like this?” in the fitting room trying on that black dress…Um, maybe because it’s gorgeous and looks perfect on you? Holding my breath that you bring it home❣️
💔 Heartbreaking 🥺. Alexa looked 🎉SPECTACULAR🎉 in that dreamy tea length LBD. The black velvet cardi was a 🆒️ Wednesday Addams gothic piece too. 😖Bummer about the longer floral dress not fitting her in the waist. 😉Thought she looked rather beautiful in that too. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Everything you got is so perfectly you! I bet the grandma cardigan would look cute under the overalls. I love your thrifting videos. I don't know why it's so fun to watch you sort through clothes at a thrift, lol.
The brand of long overalls you found is a company my family business does advertisement for! I'm always such a fan of your thrift with me videos! Thank you for posting. 😄💜
Hi Alexa, I thrifted a pair of cowboy boots which pinched me in that same area. I purchased a pack of Moleskin padding, attached it to that area and it does not hurt me anymore. I do that for breaking in my docs also. Hope it helps! Great find.
I’m so happy you added the first few clips showing you not finding anything. I relate so much to it as I always feel pressure to find things when I go thrifting and end up sometimes buying things I know I don’t really want. So that was a gentle reminder that it’s okay to go in and come out with nothing. Great video as always ☺️💗
The start of the week, I had this surge/ inspiration to make outfits and look online for some key peices for holidays planned this year, and I found a few peices that ive been looking for for years and one just arrived and I just got really excited and jumped around my room 🤣😂 I figured out that I wanted some things that will fit me at all sizes, I think I fluctuate at a certain time of the month and put on a size, so I wanted things that I feel good and will fit me all the time. I love tiered clothes, tiered skirt, tiered midi dresses, smock dresses. I love the flowy dresses. I have Jean's that are a size bigger so when I lose weight after that certain time they just fall to mid rise instead of high. I love my body all the time, I've never felt really down about my body. I'm alive, I can move, i dont get out of breath easily unless my anxiety kicks in. I had really bad acne so when i was a teen i was more focused on that then my body. Its cleared up so much now, I still have flare ups but I just remind myself it will fade again, it's not permanent and it used to be so much worse. I've never covered it though, I have an emergency concealer but I'd say I've used it 2 times in the 3 years I've had it.
I think this may actually be one of my favorite thrift videos you’ve done??? I really liked not only seeing that even Thrifting Queens like yourself don’t find everything every single time but also seeing it over a couple days and extended out past just one trip!
Your hair looks great (part 1)! I think that pink blouse in the first store is really pretty and would look good on you. And that black dress looks amazing on you (part 2).
Cool Mickey tee! Loved those plaid pants you found. Thanks for sharing the cool pieces you find in other sizes and not referring to them as huge, etc. it is greatly appreciated 😀. Have a great day!!❤
These thrift with me's are so comforting to watch 💛 Thank you for showing not to buy anything if you are not sure about it I wish we would have thrift stores like Savers in Germany, I live in a big city and all the stores are in comparison really small to the US, on the other hand it's rarely crowded and there are always changing rooms :D
This overall is to die for!! So cute!😍 I also love gingham so much but I rarely ever find it at the thrift store. It’s one of my favorites since it’s so versatile and always fashionable🥰
Boot hacks if theyre leather: you can buy keather softener or just use rubbing alcohol and water to soften it up. If theyre tight, you can also put bags of water (leave some room for air) in the boots and throw them in the freezer. Ive also heard people swear by wearing boots in the bath tub and then keeping them on your feet while they dry but im too scared to try that haha. Hope you can make them work!
The water thing works, my dad always does that when he buys boots too tight. He gets the boot and his feet wet and then he keeps working with his feet wet until it dries and but the next time they are more comfortable
😉That's a perfect idea for the next few days. It's 🌧 raining in LA right now. We've had some seriously crazy ❄️ Winter Storms over the State & Southland this last week. Miraculously, we had snow🌨 as low as the Hollywood Hills (on Santa Monica Mtn range). 🤩It was pretty exciting even though it didn't last long. In the nearby Valley (on Verdugo Mtn range) where I reside, we only had heavy hail. It was so thick in spots that it looked like snow on the ground for one day🎉. Had to go to the hospital 🏥 for a follow-up appt, & was too lazy🙃 to drag out an actual winter worthy 🥶 coat from deep in the closet. 🛃 The security guard was rather taken aback😵 to see that I was wearing a black zippered hoodie & a black quilted jacket UNDER my black raincoat style trench. Usually I'm quite comfy in my lightweight coats here w/a cosy sweater, but I had to triple 'em up yesterday😬. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Your videos are my favorite thrift videos!!! I love even when you show us what you almost buy but don't. Your fashion taste is always very interesting!!
Love the boots and overalls! Maybe with the boots you could kind of finesse them with your hands, sort of bend that area back and forth? Looks like real leather so should eventually work in a bit?
I have a pair of those liberty overalls and they are amazing! I hated overalls but decided to try some so I could have pants while I was pregnant and I now loooooooooooove overalls
Alexa, Loved this video. I have to say that as soon as you took the black dress off the rack I loved it. You looked amazing in it. Sometimes just "window shopping" as my grandma would say is fun. Blessings to you
Wolverine boots are great! They are a work boot brand so the vamp that comes up is going to be thicker than the shaft. I’d just keep conditioning them and wearing to try to soften them up
Oh my goodness, what a treat! I enjoyed watching you go to all of those awesome thrift stores and the haul is amazing as well. I love how focused it is, even though you went to five freaking thrift stores. Obsessed with the vest, it's the cutest ever. And of course, the shorterall. You reminded me that I need to get mine out of storage now when it's getting warmer where I live.
Hi giirl those black Ariat boots were that expensive because the brand is really expensive itself. Idk if you know about it but they have a lot of stuff for equestrians and outdoors and those boots would be around 200USD new. I know 80USD at a thrift is high but the one who priced them knew how expensive their stuff is (and their looked new). Love your videos 💕
When leather boots don’t fit comfy you can loosen the leather by heating it up with a hairdryer or put wet towels in it for one night and wear them the next day with thick socks so your feet don’t get moist and the leather will adjust to your feet :)
The boots are fire! The rubbing part is probably because they hit you differently than the last owner. They look like leather though, so thick socks, a hair dryer, and lots of moving your ankle should help wear them in for you. Such a cool find!
I'm not sure if someone suggested this or not, but for the part of your boots that rubs from the inside, you can work a shoe conditioning oil on the inside of the boot and really rub and work it in! If you have the Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam, that will work too! I've heard of some people using a hair dryer on them as well, but I've never tried that, I have been tempted though! I hope that helps! Those boots will be super cute for you!
ALEXIA GREAT VIDEO LOVED YOUR FINDS SO MANY CUTE MAXI DRESSES YOU SHOWN THANKS, ABOUT THE COOL BOOTS DIGGING IN WHAT ABOUT TAKING A LEG/ARM WARMER AND SCRUNCHING IT DOWN HACK ? HOPE THIS HELPS ❤
To soften hard spots on my leather shoes and boots my shoe repair man puts it in an anvil ( or you could put a metal pipe inside) and bangs it with a hammer until it's soft. I have tried this at home and it works great...also I recommend taking your boots to a professional.
I would thrift clothes way more if I could try them on lol I'm so sensitive to textures, I can't even buy online bc I'm nervous about how the fabrics would feel xD
Loved the video as always! You really made me more critical on my recent thrift trips. But I have to ask where are the brown boots in the background from?
Seems like the pickings were slim. I like the overall shorts, I am going to watch that portion of the video again to figure out how they cut the legs. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
The boots are super cute! But I wondering if they are safety boots and that is the metatarsal protection? If it is I don't think you can change it :( Good Luck!
Thrift store pricing has definitely definitely gone up in pricing. I'm 57 and have been thrifting for years. Goodwill should be renamed Badpusher or something to that effect 😂
