Beth, in social media saturated with talented fashion bloggers who have succumbed to the temptation to allow their content to be slowly but steadily reduced to nothing more than mere brand advertisements and/or half baked filler content to meet a posting schedule, your unflagging enthusiasm for and consistent integrity with your subject matter is not only a breath of fresh air, it's a sign of the real deal. Life has plans for you beyond the pack. Take heart in knowing that there is never a crowd at the leading edge...
You are very welcome. You are a gifted teacher. What you are doing is about so much more than fashion. This puts you in a different league with options that may be hard to imagine right now, but exist nevertheless. Keep a very open mind...
I truly enjoyed every min of this. I’m older, not thin and don’t think I could actually “rock” many of these fall trends ( except maybe color) but I LOVED LOVED LOVED this!!!❤️❤️❤️
Beth, you are my FAVORITE stylist on RU-vid. When you go into a Goodwill and find those gorgeous pieces I can’t believe you’re at a THRIFT store . It seems like you’re at at a very exclusive department store where everything is new and so elegant on you. Can’t wait for every Thursday to see what’s new!
I love the pink blouse you’re wearing. Funnily enough I have a super warm quilted bomber jacket with thick knit sweater sleeves. I got it at Anthropologie a few years ago. It’s a chambray blue.
I love watching your thrifting videos, you go in with a plan and specifically choose things based on trends which is really refreshing, and you're not a teenager.... honestly I appreciate it because I'm in my 30s and still love thrifting (for that treasure hunting excitement and to be eco friendly!), I needed videos to inspire me how to thrift smarter! but most videos on youtube on thrifting are by gen zs!
Love this...I’ve subscribed. I actually don’t like all the researching and you’ve done it for me! And it helps that I LOVE to thrift. Thanks for the inspiration.
Beth, you are a FASHION GENIUS! Who else would go to Goodwill find and pair plaid (elastic waist) grandma pants, a girl's school uniform dress, and metallic slides and look cooler than anyone at any of the 4 major fashion weeks! You are my idol!
So happy to find someone who shares my enthusiasm for thrift and vintage! It can be tailored to a professional environment, and now people from work are starting to be proud of their op shop finds!
Beth, this was so inspiring! I found amazing quilted pillowcases with the intention of making them sleeves for my old trench coat- now I need to find a fabulous belt (and a silky pistachio dress to wear it all with) ❤️
Great video Beth !!! Thanks for sharing your advice, tips, etc. I hope you got that brown blazer with the unique pockets.....it was gorgeous....I loved it !!!!!
Please tell me you got the tweed blazer with the pockets that go around the hips. That was my most favorite item in this video. That a good blazer and it fit you like it was tailored for you. We had a cool spell over us for awhile but this week it gotten back up in the 80s and forecast to be that way next week. Yes I started pulling out my transitional items because I had some events to attend and it was quit cool during that time day and night, day time temp in low 70s. Not looking foreword to the cold temps but fashionably prepared for it. Did some good thrifting on Fall trend item during the warm season, when no one else is looking. Ha! Really enjoyed your impromptu styling of the items that you pulled for Fall trends examples. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.
My mom wore those satin-y quilted robes in the 50's and 60's (everyone did!) and it's genius to wear them now as coats. Love the pistachio mixed with the unforgettable avocado green of the 60's and 70's. Thanks!!
I love your videos! I work in menswear in NYC and wanted to give you some info to some of the terminology you're using: most of the jackets you're referring to as blazers in this video are actually either sport coats or separated suit jackets. Historically a blazer (most commonly in navy wool) is more formal than a sport coat (usually in a sporting material like tweed), but less formal than a suit, and a blazer's key signifying detail is either silver or gold buttons. Have a great weekend! :-)
Um yeah NO, not doing " millenial" purple for the fall or pistachio. I'll save those for the spring since there are way too many beautiful jewel tones to wear for the fall!🍁🍂🍃
Ok no joke that red blazer you held up I saw it too when I was at that location !! I said to myself someone else will adore this 💕 crazy ! That one and the location off Tustin are my fave to thrift
OMG!! I thrifted that EXACT PJ set in WV... all the way on the other side of the US. I found the top and bottoms and a couple years later found the ROBE that Matched!! When you showed it I almost died! Great video! Lots of inspo for my next adventure!
My favorite is the Satin shirts and the plaid looks. Super cute and I always wear blazers in the fall/winter times. I found a adorable plaid skirt i thrifted and I plan to wear cute stockings with them and tall boots and a chunky sweater. ahhh can't wait!! You found amazing things.
Like: Light Black Blazer, nightshirt Plaid dress with plaid pants look unexpectedly good on you! The pants look awesome with the plaid pants as well! Love the outfit you are wearing in the video too! Love the pj top!
Your videos are such a great quality, so versatile and so full of informations!! I wish you hundreds of thousands of subscribers because your work definitely deserves it. Plus you're an inspiration for all of us to embrace more personal style and play dress up. ❤ P.S. That polo print dress is a dream for my all things equestrian obsession, and it's midi. 😍😍
You're a Prof in thrifting, would love to go thrifting with you. Loved all the pieces you found especially the blazers & the styling is on another level. The plaid dress over the pants was genius, also loved the white shirt /sheer blouse you wore in this video.
ugh I wish to find the confidence to wear bold shoulders, I have several and when I try them on, I feel like a kid trying on dad's clothes and drowning in it. Not in a good way. Love it on other people.
SjP move over love your style and advice. I'm a massive fan of a charity shop. Its great having unique pieces no one else has great jumper. Vintage is the way forward thank you for your haul
Beth, this video is amazing. It got me so inspired to go thrifting. It has to be your best video yet and that’s hard because I tell you that after each video.🤪
Oooh I have a pistachio cashmere swing coat from the fifties....could belt it. Have a coppery quilted coat with a broken zipper and have always closed it with a fabulous belt. Plaid cape will be dug out this year. Hoarding vintage since the 70s....forgot the quilted robe of my mother's from the 40s. Hope it still fits...I know the matching pants have a 22" waist....hahahahah.
When you put on the lavender/pink blazer you immediately looked like Meg Ryan back in the 80ies to me! 😍 Also in love with all the plaid things you found. 😍😍😀
OMG - The quilted vintage housecoat is part of one of my funniest family stories! One Christmas when I was 13 or 14 and starting to be aware of boyfriends and the whole girl/boy relationships my sister's boyfriend gave her a blue quilted bathrobe. She is 6 years older. She and this boyfriend were in kinder garden together and have been married over 50 years. By today's standards this bathrobe was totally matronly. It buttoned to the collar and had sheer nylon ties for a bow, not to mention the white embroidered flowers down the front, My mother threw a fit that he had given her a personal item of clothing. In her words "Young gentlemen do not give young ladies personal articles of clothing. Wool hats, scarves and gloves are appropriate as gifts, as are records, books, perfume, jewelry, and pictures. but not personal articles of clothing.:" Sadly that house coat is long gone or it would be in style this season.
I love going to thrift stores and shopping for clothes, the most fun finding great brands at a great price. If you change your mind , no big deal just donate it, or resale if a higher end piece. 💕💕🧡🧡
I loooove this years fall trends. I watched a Zara Fall 2019 out of Europe you tube today also. I love how you shop and rarely look at size but really focus on the style first. I so need to adopt your habit. I get so hung up on "is it my size" when I know every clothing company has skewed vaniety sizing making it impossible to follow the sizes from design to design. My favorite this year is the camel & chocolate colors, the plaids and a romantic edge. I thrift shopped today also for fall trends and found plaid pants by Liz Claiborne and a green sweater with bell sleeves. Oh I love fall designs and even more vintage fall designs❤
Oooo! I've been waiting to wear these satin copper color hammer pants that I thrifted last year. I'm thinking of pairing them with an off the shoulder or chunky turtleneck sweater and a boot. Preppy is what we CT girls call, "So New England!" I love!
First of all, you look gorgeous and your skin is glowing girl! Such a great breakdown. I am so excited about lavender, belts, and quilting! I am hoping to make my own quilted coat soon to see what I can come up with. Searching for the perfect fabrics currently because like you said they are hard to find thrifting. I am thinking searching for vintage would be more fun though. The brown textured jacket blazer you tried on is incredible! What a find!
..ok second part with the satin looks please. The red blazer, the crop jacket the knit cable sweater and the first plaid trousers are awesome on you, ooh and the look with the cow shoes very nice.
A FUN FACT... I AM AN OLDER SUBSCRIBER AND LOVE YOUR STYLE. I CAN THRIFT MY OWN SAVED CLOTHES AND FIND SOME OF THOSE VINTAGE STYLES THAT I WORE WHEN THEY WERE NEW. I HOPE I CAN FIND MY QUILTED JACKETS. I KEPT ASKING MYSELF WHY I SAVED THEM.
YAY!! my absolute favourited are when you take us thrifting with you!!!! so before I watch the thrifting part, the trends: love the green (any green) I used to love lavender but have been off it in the past years, BUT I just found (without knowing it is a trend) a very pretty retro girly lavender dress. belts I wish I could pull them off, but I am short waisted, big busted and hourglass, how do I pull a belt off without it making me look more heavy? I always wear longer tops instinctively, which does kind of hide my hourglass though...not sure...quilting not for me HOWEVER I have been wearing a quilted pumpkin jacket my mother bought me for years now because it is super practical, I guess it sort of gets the quilt and the preppy together... totally in for the preppy look! last year I scored at my not sure what kind of store it is (really not exceptional) a burberry plaid top, with kind of puffy sleeves, and buttons in front and a lower neckline...and it was cheap and in perfect condition! ok...I have an incredible blazer from my mom that I already wrote you about a true vintage designer gem with IMMENSE shoulders, that always kind of make me feel awkward but I have been able to wear it because of you and will rock it again this winter! ok now will watch the rest. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BETH! 💜
