How does it work when the plane commute to/from Seattle does not go to plan?
@valenciaflyer
@valenciaflyer 6 месяцев назад
Hi there. Great question. There are two main ways to solve this problem. Number one is to drive to work. In my case it would take about three hours to get from home to Seattle’s airport. I’ve had to do that several times when the plane I was trying to get on was full. And number two is to come in the day before and get a hotel and then wait for your trip to start. Both can be challenging and cost a little bit of money that comes out of my pocket. That is the reality of being a commuting flight attendant. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and have a wonderful night.😄

As I have applied for Alaska Airlines as a flight attendant, I'm curious what kind of shoe you went with, luggage, shaving equipment? And...what you've found to be the most surprising great thing about being a flight attendant for your airline, and the thing that you now know about that will keep you there for the long term. Prost!

Hey there, Mr. Rob. So I’m going to be doing an episode talking about packing, what I take with me, why I chose the things I did and also about my tech bag. So stay tuned for that. Talking about my airline, I believe that they do their very best to take care of us flight attendants. No company is ever perfect but I do believe that they try and make us as happy as possible. And that to me says a lot. My airline is usually in the top rankings of best airline to work for and I can see why. There are very good benefits and profit sharing that they give us. Plus other little perks from time to time. That plus more is why I will most likely never leave that airline. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and for your question. Have a great night.😊

VF, most interesting and thankfully for showing it. The commute truly IS sort of a second job with no pay. But if you have a house in Van obverse and wanna stay there, then that just is the price for that. Imagine the insecurity of being able to get on one of the Embraers can be a little anxious. PBJ sandwiches are great. Love peanut butter for sure. Drive carefully and sit down in turbulence, no matter what a pax wants. Herman

Thank you very much for sharing your three day pairing. It is good to know that you guys in the states call it as three days rotation. It is the best of line introduction for new hires. Thanks again and looking forward to your next clip.

Hi there! Love your videos. I have my F2F in a week. My concern is the pay!?!?! The minimum they say you will make.... can you make more than this in the first year or will i take this huge pay cut if i do this? Thank you!!
@valenciaflyer
@valenciaflyer 5 месяцев назад
Hi Jennifer. Thanks for the comment and question. So it all depends. It depends on your airline, where you are based and how much you can work. But if you were with my airline and worked 120 hours a month I would say that you can make around $5k per month roughly. I know some FAs that make around $7500 per month within their first year but they are working a lot. You do make more the longer you stay with the company so that’s something to look forward to. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Have a good one. 😁

It is important to mention had you not got on that PDX flight in the beginning, you had at least one more back up flight to get to your base!

How do you manage your sleeping schedule 😅
@valenciaflyer
@valenciaflyer 4 месяца назад
That is a very good question. With a very complicated answer. Ha ha. Maybe I’ll do a video on just that. But to answer you quickly, I sleep when I can. This job does do a number on your body at times. So, depending on the kind of person you are, it might affect you differently. I can manage with 4 to 6 hours of sleep of day when I’m working. 🥱

@@valenciaflyer Chris Rasberry told me you had a channel last time I saw him! I’ve been great just balancing life, work, and vlogging. You know how it goes. I’m still in Detroit, truly enjoying myself. Did you transfer to NY? I think I’ll vlog a bit at lift, haven’t decided but if I do I’ll have to get you in the video. What’s crazy is I’m dropping a vlog on Sunday about our base orientation and I have a couple clips of you and Chris in the video. 🫶🏽

@@gieselleandrea yes, that would be wonderful. We could totally do a Vlog together, Q&A thing. I am in Seattle and transferred here two months after Detroit. Things are going very well and I’m not very far away from home. Doing a lift episode is a great idea.

@@valenciaflyer I had a similar situation. I was Logan based. I lived in Northern NJ at the time. I would make that drive when I had to. About 3:30. Sometimes the drive can get you into a good mood. Listening to music, etc. sometimes you even make it there before a 35 minute flight. (Weather, delays )
