Glad your career is moving forward and you're moving out of your comfort zone to try new things! Shows you have ambition and drive and not afraid to think outside the box. I'm convinced you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. One day you may have a fleet of trucks and many drivers!! Much success to you!!!
W900 is a nice truck. It’s a very heavy truck with bad fuel mileage. I don’t know how long you’ve been doing this but there’s a whole lot more to buying a truck than just what you like. Most salesmen won’t inform you of these things. Their job is to sell trucks. Weight, fuel mileage, wheelbase FET taxes, state taxes, heavy use tax, sales tax(exempt in some states), turning radius, difference in warranties, company lease requirements. ALOT. I’ve been an O/O for 35 years and have seen many folks buy a nice new truck and immediately regret it due to not getting what they need vs what they want. Do your homework or you’ll end up with a 300,000 headache. Just bought a 2025 KW T680 with a stretched sleeper. It took 2 years to find THE truck that would work for my situation. You need someone you trust that is VERY knowledgeable in this field to help you. And yes, there are many women,my wife included that have the knowledge to assist you. It’s not just men out here anymore.
YES, I agree daves2552!!! I always thought of this sort of thing as shopping for a drivetrain and chassis more than just a truck. Find a truck that fits what your going to be doing with it and make sure that truck is a money maker. Looking cool and making money may not always be the same thing.
Plus the frames tend to break right behind the front wheels..😅 plus the price for kw parts are normally more expensive than other trucks...she would be better of with a short slope hood truck with a shorter wheel base....but kw900 and 379 are still my favorites
Do you know W9 is not bad on mileage and you want to know how a heavy duty truck saves your life!? I’ll tell you right now if you’re in head on collision that’s the truck you wanna be in! On 5/30/24 I was in my 2007 W 900 when another semi hit me head on at 65 miles an hour that driver passed away. And I didn’t. Do I need to say anymore? I drive from Vegas to Phoenix every single day and I used between 96 and 97 gallons a day which was 532 miles. Mileage also depends upon how you drive the truck how fast you’re going, etc. and if you know how to shift your gears big part on your field mileage. And I will never have a truck that uses DEF. And to the chick in video. Looks don’t mean shit in a truck. There’s a lot more that is way more important.
I’m not sure why but the KW’s (W900L & T680) catch my eye more than the trucks that Peter built. Thanks for sharing your journey and congrats again for reaching 100k.
Ok Fam now you talking!!! Getting your own truck, running your own business is a great move for you. You are a really good driver, your backing instinct is over the top!!! Prices are down on new trucks and trailers. Buyer’s market!!! When do buy do not let them hook your truck to internet so they can send engine codes to your truck, you in the shop all the time. Usually the way they get your vehicle tied to the internet is through a vehicle app!!! Don’t use their app. Do your homework and shop around. Do not buy a truck with a paccar engine.
Can’t go wrong buying a Pete! I’ve always like the Peterbuilt trucks myself but that’s just my preference. Pick out the one that is best for you and Palm. There’s good ones and bad ones in all makes and models. Those KW’s looked pretty nice though. Preciate you sharing these videos
i love seeing these trucks videos keep your head up I love watching your videos keep smiling be care full because I don't want u getting hurt because it's a lot's of safety going on it's like u got this girl keep ur head foces
It is definitely on my bucket list to one day drive one of these massive beasts of a trucks,I drive the Volvo fh16 and Scalia 650s in uk 🇬🇧.awesome videos thanks 👍🏾
My absolute favorite is the Kenworth W900L with the classic chrome gauge package. Simply beautiful, plus it’s a lot bigger than a Pete on the inside. And cheaper to maintain.
I have watched all of your videos, I said in an earlier comment you are very inspirational and aspirational, congratulations on all of your accomplishments and your success, keep up the great work. Go with the Pete.😂😂😂😂👍
Peterbilt baby love that blue it’s a little lighter than mine (19’-389)but I like the Pete over the KW any day! Haul rock an sand for a living ! Keep up the good work and love the videos
I own a freight liner and almost done with lease on A Kenworrh. I love the Kenworrh as far as driving , pull all that but I rather the layout and insides of Freightliner. Good luck choosing. It’s a big decision. Depends on what’s more important!! Comfort and when u relax or fuel and ride !!! Ya hustle should be taught & sold maamaa.. Respect…..
You should look at the Freightliner cascade with the tables set up or the Volvo's have also were they have a table and to bench style seats that turn into a bed or you can sleep in the upper bunk and leave the table out there pretty sweat also!
Fuel mileage is very important for a owner operator. Weight is another important factor. With the freight market in the shape it is, a good used truck might be the best option.
if you’re gonna buy a truck buy it privately owned one driver one owner and make sure you take a mechanic with you and check everything thoroughly before purchasing it. The dealer is going to rip you off. Don’t go there. The dealer has trucks that are no good that’s why they brought them there to trade them in for new ones.
Make sure you do test drives, they’re completely different to maneuver like taking corners and backing. Especially with a trailer. You can do it though, it’s just that some people actually end up not liking it. Happy hunting
13:22 Bed sheets and CB in the blue truck, then balding tires. Thought for sure someone brought their truck in for servicing and parked in the wrong spot. 😉
