Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well?
This is the vlog from my 25km ultra challenge I did on 1st of April in Windsor.
Unfortunately it turns out I had covid when I did this! (No wonder I felt so shit during the day)! I feel so awful and guilty for not testing myself before hand, I should have known better especially when going to such a big event. I also saw my family the day after and gave it to all of them too which I am very sad about and again feel guilty for! (Sorry guys if you're reading this). I know you can go out now if you're covid positive etc but had I have known I would not have gone and so to anyone who I may have passed this on to at this event I am truly very sorry.
I was very ill with it, by the next evening I had fever and was in a bad way. I spent about a week in bed. Even now a few weeks on I am still recovering. I am very short of breath, still have a cough and am finding I am dizzy a lot. Maybe this is my karma for potentially passing it on so much.
Anyway, despite that, I enjoyed this event. I would have preferred more countryside or coastal views and less wet mud but overall it was a fun route. Challenging but not awful and the distance was manageable. I personally wouldn't do this challenge again as I prefer the scenery of some of the others but I'm glad I did it. I'm also very proud of myself for going it alone from around 15km.
If you watch this video then thank you so much. I know it's a long one so if you made it to the end then you're a trooper. Let me know if you've done an action challenge before and what ones you would recommend doing. Xav and I are hoping to plan a weekend to the Lake District or somewhere soon so tips welcome!
I hope everyone who watches this is fit, well and covid free!
Sending lots of love,
J x
