I ended up getting the Gina curl on 2 occasions and my hair was shredding and breaking off like I’ve never seen it before on my last retouch. Never straightened my hair and washed it 2 times a week. Thought it would help for easier hair maintenance but ended up with a big chop and starting over. If it’s working for her that’s amazing. But ladies as you come across other folks that do the Gina curl you will not hear about constant up dates to the process after maybe 2 years. As a black woman let’s not let these folks play with your hair. I took a chance and my choice was horrible. On a good note, I’m embracing the short hair cut and excited for the new hair journey.
I achieved a looser curl pattern by moisturizing every single day with a light, water-based moisturizer. Then detangling, then brushing with the brushes more commonly used for straight textured hair, until my curls stretched. Add a heavy oil, brush, then add a LIGHT gel to weigh your curls down. Takes 45 minutes Lasts between 1-3 weeks depending on how you maintain it👌🏾 overtime, you wont have to touch up bc your hair will naturally curl that way. Treat your hair like a plant ❤ good luck and ty for sharing your content.
I had a Gina curl in 2021 and absolutely loved the initial results but then my hair started shedding like never before every time I washed it. Then whenever I would touch it I would always pull long strands out non stop , there was always hair on my shoulders. I thought I was gonna have to start from scratch with my hair. But with Olaplex, protective styles (braids) and trims let’s just say my hair survived. Yikes!!! What’s even more frustrating is you can’t straighten it and it should usually be wet or moisturized ( God forbid I washed it, it felt it’s weakest ) but my hair was so weak from an overdose of moisture it needed a protein balance BUT with the Gina curl you’re supposed to stay away from protein or else fear messing up the curl pattern so it was a double edged sword. I tried every product under the sun. But the first 2 months were gorgeous. Your first Gina curl video is one of the reasons I decided to get it. But I’m so glad it working for you! Different strokes for different folks and I hope I can find a curl reformer that my hair will like one day. Buuuut right now I’m working on getting my lush thickness back.
@@happybirthday8803 do u hv a wave nouveau? If you do, how long have you had one? And have you experienced any shedding? I tried it twice and both times I lost ALL my hair.
Fyi she gets paid to market this process. As a past client for 2yr. You have to treat it like a Jerry curl and keep it hydrated 24/7 to get the best results and their products dont work. Dont waste your money. The hair is very fragile and will break over time so avoid heat, braids, weaves, clip-in etc. Stay away from coloring the hair because it will definitely fall out. I dont recommend for 4c and/thin hair. Remember i warned yall
As a seasoned stylist of 43 years, curls were my favorite but what I don’t like is there is no maintenance products to keep the hair from dying out. This causes the hair to shed. I have seen too much hair loss because of this.
I don’t choose to put chemicals in my hair, but I have a different texture. So I’m not into judging someone else’s journey. But I do want to say you’re literally so beautiful 😩💕and transparent. I hope we all grow to completely love our natural selves, but it’s a journey and we’ll have many different looks along the way and that’s okay 💅🏾💕🫶🏽
Your hair looks great! The last touchup it did look a little bit thinner, but it’s nice to see all the volume came back and all the different cool ways you can wear it- nice 😊
Love the hair. Sidebar: I love you!! So stunning❣️ That personality too!! I swear you deserve to be past 1 million sub.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ And your mom stunning too!
Your hair looks beautiful. I live in south Florida and I have been wearing my hair in braids and weave for years. Now I am wearing my natural hair and I don’t know what to do with it. I am lost so I have been watching many videos trying to figure out what products to use. Anyway I love the way your looks and I love your videos.
I hear ya! The humidity is ruthless haha. I was natural also and lost with my hair. I had locs, braids, afro, keratin etc. Have you tried two strand twists? I enjoyed doing my own twists but wanted something different. I didn't want to go back to a chemical but I eventually settled on Wave Nouveau. Which works out well in these humid states and is quite freeing. Good luck on finding your perfect styles and try to enjoy the journey namaste :)
I love that we share the same name and spelling I’ve never found someone who had it spelled the same Sharice it’s my first name and I love your content
All you need is a good clarifying shampoo, good conditioner, Camel Rose Natural Curl love and Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic. Stay away from that Dyson blow dryer (it’s not ionic like must blow dryers) it will dry your hair out. The end. You will have the same results. People make stuff complicated to sale products.
Is your hair actually easier to manage though? This seems still like a lot of work with the maintanence, new growth etc. I wonder if it’s less work to be presentable but not actually easier to manage 🤔 cus as a 4c girlie who hates the amount of work, I considered this but am exhausted by the just watching what y’all go through for styling and transition phase so idk lol i’m a lazy natural
i currently have a wave nouveau and i love it! but it’s back to school time and i want to get some braids. i’ve had my wave nouveau for a month now. is it safe to get braids now? please help!
First, she is such a beautiful woman and so is her Mother. I’m not really familiar with a Gina curl so I googled it because that looks like a drier less juicy/wet Jheri curl. It says that treatment costs hundreds of dollars. Talk about a scam.
Same type of chemical but not same process as wave nouveau- only single process rather than double process. Peoples hair tends to break less with Ginacurl- at first anyway
They process you hair straight with Japanese thermal straightening product then set the curls with heat for 3 hours. The product they apply to roller they say is heat protectant - so I’ll take their word for it and neutralizer used at rinse out. With wave nouveau they use a second processing chemical while in rollers.
Wow. You are breathtakingly beautiful!!! I love this look on you. However, You can achieve more defined curl without processing your hair. A wash n go with the Extreme Wetline gel will have your curls popping. You can then do the banding method to stretch your curls for length if that’s what you desire.
Original hairstylist Gina Rivera is in CT but there are a few Ginacurl certified stylists in the country now. Make sure they trained with her and not just putting Ginacurl on their list of services when they mean wave nouveau
