They have videos that are apart of the TU (txt universe) so they probably didnt want run away too involved with the tu, especially for new viewers watching their mv, so with magic island they have a chance to delve in to the tu with a side track. Nap of the star from their last album is a part of the tu whereas crown is less of a short film, and more of an mv. Btw nap of a star seems like a prequel to this, or at least they link.

OK so Ben first of all THANK YOU for reacting to this! The necessary watch before this is their MV for "Nap of A Star". Bear in mind their overall lyrical themes of growing up and dealing with all that comes with that experience. Across all their vids, Yeonjun seems to be distracted and have destructive issues. The other boys in Nap of A Star all have physical difficulties reflected in a particular part of their body. That's what each of them is clinging to when the train/rollercoaster hits them in this vid. Also notice fire is a common symbol in their vids. BigHit is basically the Marvel of music at this point; watching all the MVs and paying attention to released content contributes to overall enjoyment of the storylines.

Notice how yeonjun got burned by the fire and then in the run away mv it shows he has a band-aid on the burn so this happened before run away. Also in run away they go to the same magic island to find the giant door on fire, possibly because of the fire the left when they were there the first time?

If you see "Nap of a star" you will see that the star that comes out in that MV is the same one that comes out here, both MV's talk about a promise they made and about waking up and looking for the star. Both MV's are in the forest. I really don't know what it means but I assure you they are connected

Many had noticed the reflection of a girl in the water surrounding the magic island when the fire had started, she is bound to be the practice room ghost that txt were talking about in the gc and appeared in both yeonjun Soobin's dreams very often, (according to the storyline) and what's weird is that yoongi jk and nj had the same context of experience way back years ago too tormenting the members with endless nightmares, it might not just be a coincidence, but bighit is a slick mf, we just have to keep our eyes wide open for more to come.

also i tried to translate quickly the beginning with my still *very* lacking korean skills and all i got out of it: that the mv is story about 5 boys visiting somewhere and in same sentence they talked about song and stars, and something about meeting, about helping and something about the stars being too far away. so basically we can confirm that this is related to other mv's and probably the answer to all: which i don't understand with my tiny brain and yes. i'm more confused than i was before i even read the text. bye.

One other thing, and I may be wrong here, but as they looked out of the train carriage, the scene looked like a landscape painting. So, bighit likes creating interwoven story universes for their groups. BTS has one, which began in the mv for I need you and then continued throughout mv's, short films, webseries, and album notes. TXT also has a universe, indicated by the +U at the end of the mv, except unlike with BTS the story is just getting started with this one. So far this mv and the Nap of a Star mv are what we have, Runaway seems connected but as far as I know it isn't marked as +U so it might just have a similar aesthetic and share symbols but not be part of the story. You should react to Nap of a star and maybe watch some theory videos if you are interested, but none of us know totally what to make of stuff so far since there are only a few videos. Other people can probably explain in more detail but I hope this helps a little! :)

Climate change? I've never laughed so hard. Seeing as how this is only the second film in the +u, none of us really knows what's going on yet. It took years to get half a grip on BTSU, so, I'm guessing it will take a few more vids and a lot of translations for us to even begin to start to understand txt's universe. Should be fun to be in on it from the beginning. Can't wait to see more.

So Magic Island is part of the TU, the TxT Universe (much like Marvels cinematic universe or the BU, BTS Universe) together with Nap of a Stat from their first album. This video is so cinematic because it is full of world-building and storytelling much like Nap of a Star was. I'd have to have the text in front of me to translate word for word but the beginning part of the video with the Korean text basically continues the story of nap of a star, explaining that the story of five boys is only just beginning as they haven't woken the star yet and the path ahead of them is still dark and they can't remember their past. At the end it basically means that their memories are returning, asking the question of 'Who's fault is it?' which is in quotation marks probably meaning that it'll be part of the premise for either the next video or the entire first Arc of their story and lastly the question of Who's voice it was which isn't in quotation marks and probably asked to us as viewers/readers. I hope this helps a bit.... I'm bad at explaining but you should definitely watch the Nap of a Star MV next to get a better grasp of things

I think the reason why the MV for Magic Island was so much longer than Run Away is because Run Away IS the title track and therefor will get the most promotion and exposure, so they have to make it easily consumable for any viewer (catchy, a little bit flashy, and short enough for any non-MOA to give it a chance). I doubt that somebody who doesn't already care about TxT would sit through a thirteen minute long MV, so Magic Island is for fans and fan theories!

Even 'nap of a star' mv a b-side track of their first album had the story telling which was not their in the title track mv 'Crown'. BigHit is a genius. Their MVs are at another level. I always feel like i am watching a movie than an MV. So Cool!!!

Big Hit does it again!!! I can't believe how they did this. The TU and BU seem to be interconnected. In the beginning, the words say that they know something but they don't remember everything yet. The boys in the beginning talk about a ghost in the practice room and getting off at the next station. In the end, someone is telling them not to forget. Magic Island has been my fave since the album dropped and this seems like the Prologue like Butterfly was for BTS. So Run Away is probably like I Need You in the sense of chronology. I hope I make sense. 💞💜✊

It's part of the TXT Universe (or tU, just like the BTS Storyline in the Bangtan Universe or BU). The story starts with Nap of a Star. Watch that first, then you can watch some theories online. You can even react to them so you could also educate other new MOAs. They've revealed interpretations to some objects and topics of different MVs in interviews and that also helps. I recommend xCeleste and Jose's theory videos (although they do try to connect both universes).

many people have already directed you to nap of a star so I won't repeat that like a broken record, but I will however say that this video was produced by the digipedi team! they are phenomenal at filming/producing music videos, including some like violeta by iz*one and up and down by exid, and have done hundreds in kpop, but notably they have an exclusive partnership with loona. i believe they've filmed/produced every single loona music video minus one, they did actually direct txt's nap of a star as well! they're my favorite production company in terms of kpop videos. all loona videos are top tier, all the more reason you should react to them more! 😉 also, the music in this is done by myungsoo shin, a film composer who has worked with big hit in the past, specifically on another film, BTS' live yourself highlight reel. if you're a fan of this type of cinematic storytelling and orchestrated accompaniment, i really really highly reccomend that video, it's still to this day my favorite thing BTS have ever done. its's BTS so i'm sure you'll get around to it, but i seriously recommend watching it if you're into this kind of stuff. at 10:00, just like for run away, crown also had a follow up mv released, which was cat & dog. but that video wasn't lore heavy, or anything included in the txt universe, (or '+u' for short), although cat & dog was their official "second single" off their debut album. it wasn't until the nap of the star mv released that we saw lore. they seemed to have skipped that intermediate video all together for this comeback, though. run away did have lore, but it wasn't until this video that we got into the real meat of the story. or, at least what people can piece together of it, anyway.

Bighit usually avoid putting heavily storyline-based imagery in their title track MVs so that they're more appealing to the general public who hasn't been following the group up until now/isn't interested in the story that they're telling. It's just easier to get more people to watch the MV & listen to the song if it's a simpler idea. It's a marketing tactic that they've used with BTS as well, very few of their Title track MVs are important pieces of the storyline, particularly their newer ones. This is also a big reason why the lyrics of Bighit's song generally have very little to do with the story, so that people can still relate to what they're saying without doing all the research required to understand everything that's happened up until now.

Also a big part of their universe is shown in the Nap of a Star MV (a song from their debut album), I have watched all of that and I still don't understand it entirely 😂 but please watch it so you can see a bit of their universe, it's really creative and cinematic.

If you follow BTS before you will know this is how Bighit build an alternative universe for the groups. In BTS they have stage Epilogue and Highlight Reel. The same with TXT. Somehow we believe BTS and TXT alternative universe has corelation but we just dont know yet.
