Dude ive been abused and almost killed by an ex, I was falsely accused of horrible things i was facing possible jail time, the only thing that saved me was that i had recordings of her admissions to being the abuser as well as lying on sworn documents. You know what happened? She got away with trying to kill me, is still in the country and is now a citizen as far as i know. Tell me how this would have worked out had the roles been reversed. The reason men dont bother arguing is because we have learned from the past that its easier to just let you win so that we can go back to whatever we have to do.

To show where years of head nodding by men can lead, and the eventual emasculating outcome, I've watched on You Tube a lot of videos of "the shoe game" at weddings. The newlywed couple sits back to back with one of their shoes and one of their spouses. They are then asked questions about their relationship, and raise the appropriate shoe when the answer relates to that person. One of the questions often is "who wears the pants in the relationship." I've watched scores of these videos, and was amazed to see, with few exceptions, the majority of the men, and almost all the women, raise her shoe. It’s surprising how one sided it is. Most of the men who do have the courage to raise their shoe are countered by their brides, who proudly raise theirs as well. Finding a husband and wife who together raise his shoe is rare among the videos I’ve watched. I realize it's all in fun, but it points to a change in how today's men see themselves. The feminist dominated culture of the past number of decades seems to have created a generation of meek milquetoast men and confident entitled young women, at least in terms of relationships. It looks like alpha males are indeed an endangered species. Most of the brides show no hesitation in gleefully lifting their shoe high into the air. They’re sure today’s society expects them to be in charge. Apparently, now, due to a couple of generations of the mainstream media showing men as idiots and buffoons, most of the grooms do too. Both genders have grown up with the mantra of “women are always right”, and ”happy wife, happy life”, and both have come to believe it. To me, the shoe game is a sad commentary on how young men presently view themselves in their own household. It’s also really quite an eye opener on the overwhelming entitlement of young women in today’s world.

It's because of Star Trek Brain. We know we have shiny new homo sapien cerebrums that can think down out baser, lizard brain impulses, but we're still figuring out how. The way you think through content and then outline your thoughts succinctly, is really impressive. Most people will form an early impression, which then frames the entirety of say the content. "Why do men do that?" You're kidding, right? Women just want to hear people agree with them. And btw, this isn't exclusive to sex, also applies to platonic family member arguments. Sisters, mothers, etc, they're much more likely to argue their point, whether it's right or wrong, until you agree with them.

my 1st ex, when we argued, I would always apologize even if I KNEW I was right, cuz I just wanted the argument to be over. my 2nd ex--when we argued, it would last 3-4 hrs and 99% of the time she would physically attack me, even in front of my older kids, sometimes even out in public, and we would argue sometimes twice a day! many times w/her I would think 'this argument isn't worth it' and would give up and let her have her way. other times I would argue to the bitter end if I was right or my older kids saw it(they would accuse me of being beat into submission by her when I told them to do things). now, because I let her have her way sometimes, my older son will not talk to me(she made their lives difficult too to the point that they moved back w/their mom as teens). older men just want peace at home. boy men will argue too much. sometimes you just think to yourself 'just let the crazy person have her way and maybe she'll leave you alone'...

A popular saying in Danish. "Women want to be right. Men want to have peace". As in, when in an argument, women's goal with the argument is (more often than men) to come out of it being conceded to by the other person. Men's goal though (more often than women) is to get to where you're no longer having the argument and you can both go on with your day, so men (again, generally speaking) will typically "agree" and "concede" just to be done with it and not have it end in anger and conflict.

If my wife has a problem with me, I am not interested to hear about that 5 days after. Or immidiatly, or not at all. I will not react to sad puppy eyes, frowny faces or anything. Just say whats up ,when its up.

Part of the reason men have learned to nod along comes from some ideologues equating disagreeing with a woman as misogyny.

I really love how willing you are, as a female, to actually listen and see the other point of view. A lot of women, I'm not saying all women but a lot of women are getting a taste of ego the more empowered they get and now they don't want to see a different perspective. They think what they think and say and do is always right and they don't wanna hear anything else. That's the problem with power and ego. Too much can leave a person less humble and not very level headed. But I'm happy you are willing to take in both sides fully and come to your own conclusions.

The reason men do what you said is because that dude has probably been burned before by a woman who does not feel the same way as you. This was interesting. Louis CK has some of the funniest standup (cell phones and flying; other people's kids; my 3-year-old is a 3-year-old). Maher's point about applause doesn't land for me because there's no context. The applause for "women are smarter" (and no applause for "men are smarter") stems from a history of patriarchal oppression.

Guys giving up and just agreeing is a result of not having mature masculine mentors. Wisdom passed down in how to speak and when to speak as a man. The break down of the family and the rise of unbalanced feminism has contributed to this.

Why do we "give up so easy"? Ok here's why. When a woman argues out of emotion, as you've just yourself said, you expect everyone to care about your feelings. But very often since your argument comes out of emotions it is not logical. So A) a man cannot counter your argument with logic, facts and reason. B) A man cannot rely on an emotional argument because then it's just a clash of opposing emotions, which leads to nowhere. And a woman arguing out of emotion argues tirelessly. So the ONLY option a man has, other than severing all ties with said woman is to agree. And we eventually learn to recognize this situation so we don't even bother with options A and B so we just go directly to agreeing in an attempt to diffuse the situation. That's why we "give up" so easy.

I think the issue is most men have been conditioned that if we share an opinion that doesn't mirror your opinions it will escalate into an argument and then there will be no sex.

I feel like men and women can't have open dialogue anymore because the culture has become If I'm right then you're wrong. Men have different views and experiences. Instead of asking "How can you say that?" or 'How could you think that? (Those questions are leading and if you're asking leading questions you're gonna get defensive answers). Ask something along the lines of "How did you come to that conclusion?" Or "Why do you think that?"

Women will get mad about a dream they had about their man cheating, wake up look at me like i did something wrong lol. then on "sunday" i find out last monday she had a dream of me cheating which never happened but i had to eat that shit all damn week.

We don't give up. Many women don't know how to be wrong gracefully. The option is to have a long argument, not get any ass or beat your ass until you shut up or just drop it because it is not that important and then be able to smash. Many women can't stick to the facts and get emotional and that is flipping annoying to some men. I will add that a lot of men also don't know how to be wrong gracefully either.

Men don't give up so easily. Women are so used to talking to each other in a certain way. When they talk to men in the same way, they don't realize the weakness of how they communicate includes giving the impression that they are right and that there is nothing to debate. Their approach cuts off debate because they want to be right and talk as if their opinion is the only one and men who love their women try not to escalate because, if they do, the women will yell, cry, gas light and throw up straw men arguments to avoid potentially valid or unpleasant points. It's mostly a one-way street. They can dish it out, but they can't take it, NIah.

(sry for long post...) Recently in Australia (like 2017/18? btw im not australian and im writing just what i remember seeing on youtube) there was a hearing about wages inequality for women. I think the group of women that were arguing the case were either using a report that was published or they wrote up a statistical report (i dont remember what the sample size was, but it didnt seem to be a problem, so im guessing it was a >1000-subject study). The chairman from the hearing was doing a really good job at listening, and he gave these people every chance to argue their case. But a lot of it ended up boiling down to "what about..." x,y,z, a,b,c, d,e,f.... he just kept finding more and more stuff that didn't add up. . . - over-time taken by the individual, classified by gender; what about age, what about job-hours (experience), how do those differ among the genders? what's the pay difference there? - education of the individuals, ranked by increase in pay, and cross reference by gender (which by the way, more women were educated, just less women on particular types of jobs); - the actual titles and responsibilities of the individuals (they hadn't even separated supervisors from those they were in charge of, it seemed), - bonuses granted measured against over-time taken; - vacation days , absences / sick-leaves ----- How do all of these affect the pay difference and how much does it correlate with the wage-gap? The women at the hearing kept trying to discount them as problems, dodging the question and repeating what they just said; the telltale sign that one doesn't have the answer, right? So the fact remained that their hearing was a waste of time, because they're arguing that the wage gap had everything to do with... just not being paid the same, therefore sexism. But their evidence didn't lead that way. At that point I realized feminism got their name stolen by the more outspoken, aggressive, and young (and... even go as far as saying "ignorant") subgroup. This "modern mainstream feminism"... its just ... *sigh* please don't take it personally when someone says "f*k feminism" nowadays, because the mainstream feminism isnt what it used to be. Now it's totally antagonistic even to innocent men when they're trying to do the "right thing". :(

Arguing with nonsense is exhausting. I’m all about a debate, but debate is an exchange of ideas. As soon as feelings are involved, I know what I say does not matter

We don't argue because women embellish. Consensual sex becomes rape, an argument becomes abuse, etc. And it could be years later when no one can prove the women wrong.
