Slightly off topic, but I need a roundtable filled with outstanding action/martial art stars/actors. Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Iko Uwais, Scott Adkins, Jason Statham, ect. I know you can’t get all of them (or perhaps do a part 2 with another batch), but I’d love to see at least some of them interact and speak their minds about action, choreographies, stunts, martial arts, acting, their own experiences/stories, their perspectives on certain things, ect all in one table.

Comedians tend to be the heavier of the groups. I have found that some of the funniest people/ actors are the most intense and the dramatic people/actor are usually the funniest most light hearted. They are always dealing with intense situations in their craft so they have to be goofy irl.

I REALLY want to see John Mulaney work with Bill Hader on something in the vein of Barry. Not the plot, but the tone, and the character dissection. John has had a messed up few years and I have no doubt that he has it in him to explore that, and Bill has proved himself more than competent, and we already know they work incredibly well together. Make it happen Hollywood.
@cv8499
@cv8499 11 месяцев назад
I mean, I could see his special "Baby J" as a movie, just the way he laid it out. He would play himself, with some younger actors playing him in the childhood flashbacks, and Bill Hader would star as the doctor at the rehab. Pete Davidson could play the person on duty who busted him for having Outback delivered.

Why do I feel differently, for me she presents herself to be somewhat obtuse. Idk maybe I am imagining it.
@itzumiv

@@sLaPQx @I felt the same way. It's because she has to asks the questions she has written down and so when trying to move on she sounded dismissive. She did it to Mo specifically, but I'm sure she didn't mean it, it's literally just that, that she has to follow the pre written question

What was that pivot @ 14:48 with the "sure...sure..." then going back to talk about likeability to Jason? That was weird AF, Mo had a valid point talking about race and how people try to categorize him because he's from the middle east. It would have been a better response, "So, Mo, how would you say that impacts you when you try to make a connection audiences?" which ties in with the subject of "likeability". Made the scene 100% believable…but made you (as a viewer) “break the 4th wall” and feel bad for the actor instead of the character. Jason Segel is my favorite actor and comedian ever he has been for a long time. He just seems like a really nice guy and he's hilarious. I haven't seen a movie or show with him in it that I haven't liked.

Tyler is so far beyond his years! Such an insightful young man, truly a pleasure to be able to watch this. Digressing a bit here but ironically to what was discussed here, I can’t hear anything other than “Peter Porker” from John 😂

Why does the interviewer keep cutting off Mo Amer when he’s bringing up important topics like being stereotyped or processing trauma? She’s not reacting this way to anyone else.

I noticed this too. She’s still a great interviewer in general but I wish she invested more attention to Mo’s insights

Whenever only he talks, she says yep yep and turns to someone else, no follow up questions. It's irritating and somewhat dismissive.

i actually kind of felt like he kept changing the subject from what people were talking about, and it seems like he does go on forever from what i've seen of him, so maybe that's what was going on and you can't tell from the editing. but idk

🙄I get the part where they talked about being stereotyped but when it came to the conversation about what his father had gone through and the trauma it caused him, why would she stay on that topic it clearly affected him when he started to talk about it as he understandably was becoming emotional about that particular part of his story.😐

I just want to say how grateful I am that these thoughtful, vulnerable, emotionally present conversations - especially amongst men - are being modeled by actors so present in the public eye. I hope seeing actors & celebrities normalize it continues the cultural shift toward recognizing the strength in sharing weaknesses & truth & *gasp* feelings. Kudos to Lacey for her interviewing and all of them for their willingness to share this.
