Senator Leeds in this movie acts whole lot like Joe Biden. The sad thing is that Leeds is in a movie and Biden is real life.

So much fun watching this classic comedy! Good clean fun!! 😄 They don't make good movies like this anymore.

Lol; does Anyone remember the animated rooster ‘Foghorn Leghorn’ from the early Loonie Tunes and Merry Melodies cartoons? I wasn’t sure if the Protagonist ‘Beauregard Claghorn’ in this movie was inspired by Him, or had done the inspiring - so I looked it up. Apparently, Foghorn Leghorn first appeared 1-yr before this film; I guess that answers the question. (“I say, I say!”) 😄😁 Thank-You for this!!!

Senator Claghorn was a regular on the Allen's Alley segment of The Fred Allen show on the radio. My favorite line of his from the show describes his character perfectly: "Where I come from, we call people from Alabama Yankees!"

That dog Daisy use to appear with Arthur Lake, Penny Singleton and Baby Dumpling in the Dagwood movies. What a great character this guy is a hoot. I grew up watching Foghorn Leg horn cartoons.

Daisy, the dog, steals every scene she is in.

Kenny Delmar--Senator Claghorn--was born in Boston and raised in NYC. Utility player Una Merkel was from the south--Kentucky--and her body was sent back there to be buried. June Lockhart was also from NYC. Daisy the Dog--real name "Spooks" and a mongrel rescued from an animal shelter--made a guest appearance from the Blondie movie series.

Recognised one of the vehicles in the picture, it had the same front of a delivery van ,I saw in Northern Ireland as a boy. This was about 1957. Thanks for this film.

When the daughters of Dixie nominate magnolia claghorn ( Una merkel) as a candidate for state senator, the local political machine run by northerner fears its candidate will be defeated! Through the claghorns’ daughter’s boyfriend, the machine gets the idea to run magnolia’s husband Beauregard as a candidate in order to split the anti-machine vote..they don’t count on Beauregard’s popularity and seek to stop him! June Lockhart appears as claghorn’s daughter and daisy the dog steals the scenes in this movie 🎥! Very funny comedy to watch! 😂🎉😊😊😊😊😂❤😊😊

I recognize Daisy the dog from the "Blondie" TV show Her acting abilities are A#1. However I'm having trouble remembering the other people in this film. That's a joke son!
