Nick has some seriously good mojo with the philosophy of comedy. Being able to take the concept that "you've got the action, and you've got the audience, and between those two the funny happens," then extend it to the concept of "being mean" (inferring a pretty accurate definition imo, on the fly) and whether that's cool or not... I mean, he's like some kind of rational scientist, studying the alchemy that is human emotion.
