Not a dumb question at all, Doc! Mark Jewelers inserts were part of the centerfolds of comics that were sold on military bases. The reason was that those who were away in the military would probably be missing their significant others and therefore more likely to propose marriage. Books with MJ inserts are scarce and typically sell for a premium (especially key issues), but it is hard to find them in high grade because soldiers rarely took good care of them as they were simply considered reading enjoyment/cheap entertainment.
