Seems like every comic I want to buy lately is a Mark Jewelers. The guy I buy from bought some comics from a guy who inherited his dad's comics. His dad brought them back when he was in the military overseas in the 70's. Most of the guys collection are Mark Jewelers. Like them more when they were harder for me to find. It was like an extra bonus. I just counted and I've bought 20 in the last 2 weeks. Lol.
My cousin didn't like the marks jewelers adds in his comics and pulled them out. He lived near an army/marine base in north carolina. This was mid 70's when we would visit in the summer. Who knew? Lmao.
I bought a comic store stock in 1982 that was near an air force base...38,000 comics and had hundreds of Mark Jewelers books. Some of first books I wholesaled off as didnt store well...
The real value of Mad Magazine from the 1960s on is that they are still funny. Timeless humour should be valued by us all. That Action Comics issue with Barda is controversial? How ridiculous. The plot is fairly inane but also quite harmless, any "controversy" comes from dealers concocting it to make sales on what is a very ordinary comic. Mighty Avengers #1: uninformed speculators, a source of endless entertainment when their "sure thing" crashes down around them.
