My 15th graded comic arrived in the mail today - I have a long way to go to catch up to that seller. You can pick any box at random and be stunned at what you find with a collection like this. Just WOW. I got caught out by 1st Issue Special's title too when I started collecting comics - it does imply that the character has an ongoing series and this is #1 in that series.
Great collection pickup. That statement advising young Marcus to hold onto the Akira treasure is the best advice. Same advise I provided to my nephew who I gifted my collection of the New Mutant 1st print run and McFarlane ASM run. Awesome way to help someone we know and light the way in their adventurous reading and collecting. Love your RU-vid and keep it rolling.
That is one large slab collection - one day I’ll be able to check your whatnot show but because of my hours that’s bedtime for me - we’ll thanks for showing and good luck sell all those
Gratz on the purchase, I am interested to see what you felt was a mistake on the FMV group. Also props for giving the kid a damn nice book. 👊transition
Just purchased my first slabbed book from this collection. Gameboy #2, so much going for it for me. My birth year, game boy and nasa related. Thanks so much!
Ahhhh! I think I would either have a heart attack or a stroke after going through the "highs" and "lows" of opening each box! How exciting! Looking forward to the Livestream.
Very nice pick up. I liked the way you demonstrated your process of going through the collection and obtaining their value. I have well over 4000 books from different publishers(mostly DC & Marvel) and I can't wait to check the value on some. I also appreciated some of the comments about how many were graded. Now I feel as though I don't have to have all of mine graded. The books I bought were for my personal enjoyment so I don't have a lot of multiple copies but I did purchase some #1's just because they were #1's😅 Started collecting in the mid-70's til the late 90's. As a kid you could go to used books stores and find mint or NM books .15c. Time to let the collection go though. Can't take them with me. What's the best way to sell them. Comic convention?
That is a ton of graded comics, I’m at around 400 and I’m just trying to consolidate it to just major keys, but then Bry does a sale and I’m right back in buying mode.
Nice haul. A lot of old gen slabs. Your eye is as good as mine picking out those tiny little defects!!! I would keep DD#158 as long as it's a true 9.8!
An update would be cool. How much did you revalue the collection for, how much did you actually sell it for, did you make money (incl time effort etc), was this a profitable sale? ETC ETC
Always fun to see these “mystery box” videos. I wouldn’t know a fraction of the more modern books but it’s be a blast still to unpack that many and find those buried treasures…did I see an X-Men 101 on that list??! Great pick by the way of Akira! 👍🏻
Great shirt Marcus - Gojira is a favorite of my son and myself. I have the same shirt design but in green. Congrats on the Akira book - great choice. Oh... and nice collection of slabs Bry ;-)
The type of boss I need, my bosses made us do a potluck to appreciate our hard work. So no raise, no promotion, not even cheap pizza. We had to cook and bring our own food. Smh I need a new job lol
Ummm, Bry??? Just put a slim liner of bubble wrap inside (ie. around the slab) all those mailers!! Why would you waste them all and cost yourself all that money, when the solution is so simple. With the thinnest bubble wrap inside, those should be 'snug as a bug in a rug' ;)
