Under normal circumstances, "investing" in comics or toys or anything similar is just the worst idea ever. There are so many better ways to invest your money. Even if a book shoots up 20%-30% (a great return), eBay or other selling marketplace is going to take 15-18% so now you hardly make anything when you sell. Buy and collect comics because you love to read them or enjoy the art... not to invest!

It can be a good investment if you can get things for cheap enough, there are a lot of fools to take advantage of, I do real well on funko’s and marvel legends figures. Comics can be as long as you’re smart and don’t only spec on what’s trending. Finding under the radar keys is key.

I have made a nice return on a bunch of books. I started out with minor keys and bought and sold my way up to major keys, while its a lot of work I have had a blast doing it!

Just about every "big win" I've had in comic collecting has come from buying a book off the shelf with the intention of reading it, and then it takes off in the years that followed. From EoSV2, ASM4 (Silk), Thor 1 (Jane), and others, these are books that I bought, read, put in a box, only to find out years later that it blew up. Of course, on the flip side, 95% of the books I buy go absolutely nowhere. But I enjoyed the read (for the most part). And yes, multiverses do suck. Immensely.

I don't root for books to tank, but this thrills me. I started collecting the Dark Phoenix 9 issue run slabbed about a year ago and I just need 130 to complete it. Wasn't buying at an inflated price despite it being a solid key. Soon I'll have it for a reduced price...if these rumors are true.

Haha. Nice. Dazzler isn't going away. A cameo is nothing. I want a Dazzler movie. Dazzler is the most film-ready character in the MCU and the cat's out of the bag. She's by far a superior character to Deadpool, who is basically a Reynolds vehicle that will die with his interest. I admit that I sold into the hoopla, but if the prices collapse I'm buying back in. Lady Deadpool is dead money.

Spec on a comic book is always a mistake. However, if you see a cover you love, then it's totally worth getting a copy. Just don't buy the hype, wait. 1 or 2 years from now I guarantee the price will drop.

I feel bad for those who paid alot of money on comics. I have dozens of comics on my ebay watchlist for months no one paying ridiculous prices anymore. You have to be very careful on collectables.

If she is not, its a shame the money they could have made, just on Swiftys alone. Kinda stupid in a way, everyone buys X-men 130. Then everyone dumps X-Men 130. X-Men 130 has a lot going for it in Appearances without Taylor Swift. Good book to keep anyway.

Taylor Swift is, after world leaders, the most tracked person in the world. If she were on the set of DEADPOOL, it likely would have leaked to the press and paparazzi as soon as it happened. It was always possible (and still is possible) she shot something off-set, against a green screen, etc., but everyone spec-ing on this like it was a given were delusional. It also hasn't been discussed much that the twisted and bloody humor of DEADPOOL is not exactly the Taylor Swift image. This cameo was always unlikely just based on the material. She doesn't need to do a cameo just to be in a hit movie. She is a hit movie.

This makes me laugh so hard, got a raw copy of xmen 130 for $10 a year ago, not a high grade but added to work on my collection. Im staying away Deadpool 7. Everyone says Lady Deadpool is Taylor Swift or Blake Lively. Has anyone given a thought to its Morena Baccarin considering there is reference to how Vanessa may be dealing with cancer during Wade's party and who knows in another universe she becomes (Lady) Deadpool.

i enjoy the spec style, but only if i can turn $5 to $20 into $300+. Speccing on something you would never read otherwise, to turn $150 into $250 is dumb.
