@PrincessSunshine11 Well that's the proof right there that she does love him enfin if she's taking a hell of a long time realizing that. Cause after all that he did to her she still stood by him. Even Stefan said once "why are you trying to protect him?" She had no answer to that. She just feels the need to. There's a connexion between them, you can see it in one of the very 1st episodes of s1 when they're in the kitchen and she says "i'm sorry about Katherine.." the way they look at each other

I think it would be a good twist if Elena falls for Damon and admits it to herself and when she goes to tell Damon, she sees Damon and Bonnie together

I personally didn't see the Damon/Bonnie relationship in the books the same way everyone else did. I saw it more as Damon just being very protective of her because she always appeared so weak compared to the other girls. I saw it more as a brother/sister protective relationship (of course with Damon being slightly interested in her bra cup size, but that's just who he is) Whereas with Elena he was so deeply in love with her. I'd feel uncomfortable watching Bamon on the show, but just my opinion

Ian was spot on, in ep18 with that dance it was as clear as day that these two work, amazing chemistry between the actors and the characters. Once the writers have played with Delena next season they should totally invest in this pairing :)

You can see he would be interested in the idea and why not? Bonnie/Damon are cut from the same cloth. I like that people are asking him for a change more about it. Bout damn time!

i think it's the idea of damon being dangerous and spontaneous and elena being the sweet girl that changes him. im a stelena fan but i think thats what people like about delena.

@PrincessSunshine11 I don't find Elena boring at all she's a complex character, just like Damon. They balance each other out, her light for his darkness. They were just meant to be. It's smeared all over the books, and it's crept into the show since season 1. What gets me mad is that ppl just don't want to admit it.

L.J said she had plans for Bamon. Yes, Damon loved Elena in the books but L.J said she was planning on making Damon fall in love with Bonnie as well & that he'd have to choose between Elena & Bonnie. I'm not just saying that. She said that in an interview. She also mentioned in a blog/open letter to Bamon fans that she loved writing Bamon & had more plans 4 them & she's sad she wont get 2 write it cuz she's been fired.

@MissAllisonLoves actually i read that l.j smith wanted delena endgame thats why they fired her and really damon died and came back in the end.

@FuriouslyYours22 I do remember that. Lucas loved her from afar. And then they slowly connected. Then things got in the way, but they were still able to make it through all of that. But the difference is Leyton had six seasons to love and lost and love and lost again. Delena, not so much. We are not even on season 3 yet and you guys have already gotten then endgame. So, far the most they've had was a pity kiss, because Elena thought he was dying. And the other difference is Nathan

@hollyannewesley It's actually that he died for ELENA, cuz he saved Bonnie for HER. And he said it himself to Elena when he died: He really only loved ONCE in his lifetime.And that's meamt 4 Elena.And I've got friends who sent her a letter and she replied that she wanted a DE endgame cuz everything else felt wrong.and,tbh,u can see that especially in the last 2 books.Just remember Shadow Souls: A whole book about DE.Then Midnight,Elena finally admitting that she truly LOVES Damon.

But the thing is Bamon shippers have made SO MUCH out of that that they seriously believe they're gonna fall in love and maybe become endgame. I mean come on, can u really say that Damon loves Bonnie like he loves ELENA? You can't, cuz it's not the same feelings at all. He cares for Bonnie, wants to protect her, like a child.

@halloweengeek yes! and i don't understand how people can wish for that to happen? Sure, they would look good together but I'd rather see them just be good friends instead. Like you said, Bonnie is a different person in the books and has a thing for Damon already in the beginning.

@fight4acause my prior post is the reason why you do type on a cell phone, missing words galore. ... I meant DE episodes did not send ratings through the roof and example of this was the finale which was not very high in ratings and hit below the 3 million mark compare to the Dinner Party episode which was much higher than that and DE barely interacted.

I think Bonnie and Matt should be together. And I kinda like when Bonnie is like ''No, but you'll do it anyway, for Elena ;)''. And when they're fighting and Bonnie is like ''I can kill you ;)''. They're so much more funny fighting and getting annoyed over each other and all..haha! Anyway, I think Damon and Elen should be together, Bonnie and Matt (EPISODE 7 WHEN SHE SAVES HIM IN SEASON 3 ♥), Stefan and Katherine OR Caroline!! ;D /Delena shipper since season 1!

I love bamon's chemistry. I am not a delena fan but I respect that they love delena without harassing them. I think people shipping different couple is what makes the show so fun.(: @Henrita6- L.J smith tells fans what they want to hear including bamon fans. She wrote on her blog telling bamon fans that damon liked bonnie and was continued to pursue elena because he made that his goal, but then you read the stories and its something totally different. ;)

I don't think the hate is going to turn to something else ever, and I don't se the 'sparks', but I do respect that others like Bamon. The moral here is: Don't bash my ship and I won't bash yours. We're all allowed different opinions.

@csmac30 I agree! For something that is so for sure and so endgaming, there are a lot of angry people here. I mean if Delena are so meant to be, and Damon is so much in love with Elena, why is Bonnie such a huge problem to these shippers? I am a Bamon shipper, but I know that Bonnie and Damon have a very little chance of hooking up. And I for one am happy that Ian actually spoke on the Bamon connection and acknowledging that something is there. Although, it may never happen.

I understand what ur saying but I disagree that she founded Bamon for a Stelena ending BECAUSE the publishers didn't like Bamon either. L.J said she LOVED writing Bonnie's character & she was excited to explore Bamon. She said she had great plans for Bamon like Damon getting jealous over Bonnie's potential wolf lover & Bamon playing a part in helping Caroline during child birth. She said she was sad she wouldn't be able to write more delena & Bamon moments. She loved both delena & bamon

@ciiela354 She also said she wasn't sure who Damon soulmate was, Elena or Bonnie & that maybe someone can have more than one soulmate. She said Damon would have to choose between Elena & Bonnie. She never confirmed who he would choose. It's just sad that L.J won't get to complete her own vision since she's been fired. It's sad ur not a true TVD fan. There are many great things to this show besides Delena.

@ciiela354 L.J said she loved writing Bamon but the publishers didn't like it (just like they didn't like delena) so she had to fight to keep Bamon moments in the book. She was a Bamon fan as well so idk why Delena fans keep saying L.J wanted that to be endgame. She NEVER gave away her endgame. She said she wasn't sure if Delena or Bamon fans would be happy. In the books Elena realized Stefan was her soulmate anyway. Didn't Damon die for Bonnie in the books?? That's intense.

Unfortunately, this did not happen like in the novels, but it should have happened. Why?????

@PrincessSunshine11 well because we were curious, we wanted to know what Ian had to say about a Damon/Bonnie hookup and also what's in store for Jeremy. This isn't like a Bamon fanvid or anything, i'd never watch one of those. This is about the show, about what could be in store for it, so like most fans I wanted to check it out. This isn't only reserved for Bamon shippers haha ^^. And we all like different characters for our own reasons, myself I can't stand Bonnie but I love Care and Elena.

And Elena is about as fun as watching paint dry on a wall. She bores me to bloody tears. But now Bonnie or Katherine, they add spice to the show. Did you NOT see how Bonnie took down Klaus TWICE! That girl has so much fire, I'm afraid my TV would catch on fire...lol. Elena is and will always will be a dud.

Never denied the chemistry between DE, I just still prefer SE more. They have more substance IMO. And don't think I am a Damon hater because I actually enjoy his character too.

And the 1st time Bamon "kissed" Bonnie actually KISSED HIM he didn't respond. The second time they did kiss, but I never felt any "love" there. It's not like when he kisses Elena. Like I said he cares for her, but that's about it. But I understand how you Bamon shippers can believe it's sth more. It is kinda confusing.

I love Damon, i love Bonnie... but Bamon in the TV show... almost impossible... for now. i read the books, i can see where its coming from, but bonnie's personality (and Damon's) are MUCH different in the TV SHOW. Bonnie's against vampires, and Damon's even more bad than in the books...

@ronniextruelove he's asked about Bamon, says that he knows it happens in the books and that Damon and Bonnie are cut from the same cloth and are funny together. He watched the scenes where they danced and thought "Wow, that (Damon and Bonnie) really works." Then he jokes about Jeremy going after Damon to stay away from his girlfriend, and about how he and Alaric have to look after the Gilbert kids this season.

@fight4acause i dont think it was the fact that the episodes had DE, considering that the largest fanbase of VD from my observation is the DE fanbase,i think its just because the views tend to drop as the episodes go along... if there was no DE in the series, there would be much less viewers than there are now

What I ment, was that he will be really confused and afraid, because he doesn't know whats going on with him and therefore he needs Bonnie on his side, otherewise I think he'd freak out! Sure, he had/has some feelings for the others, but I think that in the beginnig his scare will be dominating and they are ghosts, he'd never choose them over Bonnie!!!

I think "Bamon" would make everything so twisted and complicated that it would ruin so much of the show. Damon will then have hooked up with like every woman in town and ruined any and all chances he had with Elena, Jeremy would hate Damon, and Bonnie would go against every opinion she's ever stood by, and would no longer be the Bonnie I love. Anyone who agrees/disagrees with me? :)

@jasamlover12 They said they don't have plans for them ever happening, at least not now, seeing as they hate each other and that's not gonna change anytime soon, they said something along those lines, so there's still hope for you Bamon shippers, even though I personally don't understand that ship :P

Thescenes where she constantly rejects him or rolls her eyes at him, gets mad at him, looks at him with disgust, complaining about him to Stefan, begging him to be on his best behavior & to NOT kill ppl? Are those scenes really all that lovely? Delena scenes often consist of them bickering & disagreeing.

@1000Milesification i dont think blair & chuck were friends maybe just partners in crime. but never really friends in the beginning. Definetly not. Bonnie & Damon have been partners-in-crime on more than on occasion. :O The 80's dance if one example, and when Bonnie helped Damon capture Mason.

LJ Smith never said Delena was endgame, nor was it the ORIGINAL story. She has said she likes both the Delena and Bamon in her books. In case you didn't read the ORIGINAL books, Damon and Bonnie have more than chemistry. They have a bond. Read the books.

Yes Ian I agree I do see it working. They just have this unspoken chemistry that just makes it work. Ian and Kat kinda make a cute couple with the way their characters are it works. He's a little unpredictable and she's like the only person that could stop him. It's kinda like he's met his match. I feel like that aspect from the books would be a great idea.
