Omg tis is so emotional for me .. Cos I am a chennai girl cos I love love love love chennai .. But then I got married and settled in trichy cos of career here .. Although I'm only 4 hrs away from chennai I miss chennai everyday cos dat is my hometown and my parents are there too .. Chennai is always always always always de bestttt !!!

I'm a Malayalee born in Chennai. Hyderabad is my home from the past 12 years. But I make sure that I visit Chennai once in every 6 months and go hiking. I love the blend of cultures found in Chennai. The people are also very cordial! The slang brings happiness to my heart and a smile on my face. 'Loads of love sent from Hyderabad!'

I like the 3 young adult guys who talked about staying here to take care of your mother and family instead of going abroad. I understand that being jobless is sad, but as some people said, so is growing-studying in hometown and leaving to foreign country for work. Im not the best to say that because im abroad but its because my hometown SL is not safe, so stay where you are and enjoy!

As I was watching the video on 'happiness...', I felt a sense of envy that ppl who are in Chennai can still feel so much happiness. Once you've traveled, the only thing that doesn't make you(me) wanna come back is all the drama, every day... you have to be alive at all times, which is a good thing. But people just cannot accept others doing their own thing too- the quiet ones. Makes it a very hard environment for introverts, especially, to survive...

@Put Chutney....I am posting this comment to give you one of the many reasons for Indians leaving India to settle in another country. This incident happened two months ago in Delhi airport while I was waiting in the lounge to board a flight to London. I saw a makeshift Internet café near the lounge that said 'FREE INTERNET'. When I went there, I was told by a lady (in charge) of the café that only passengers with Indian registered cell phone number are allowed to use the internet. As I am a UK resident and my mobile number is registered there, I was not allowed to use the internet. I went window shopping in that terminal for a while. Few minutes later, when I walked past the same internet café, I saw a white couple (man and woman) using the internet. I asked the lady in charge there..."You told me that only people with Indian registered cell phone numbers are allowed to use the internet. Now I see two foreigners using the internet. Why are they allowed?"....She replied.."They are different. You are different."...I asked.."In what way, I am different from them. Is it because they have a white skin and I have a brown skin? Why is this shameless 'special privilege' to white people?...She replied.."Rules are rules."...I said.."You are one of the many Indians who are ready to give special respect for white people. I don't get this kind of privileged treatment in UK where I live." I walked away from that place disgusted as the lady did not have an answer to my criticisms. This type of insult happens throughout India in one form or the other. I can give many examples like this. Why should I live in a country where a foreigner gets special respect? Coming to other matters, I am originally from Chennai and I was visiting friends and relatives in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi before leaving for UK. Indians who have self respect will move abroad when the opportunity arises. That is my point. I will appreciate if you could post your comment...But you will not. Because your freedom of expression has been taken away from you which you will not admit.

As a person who has come back from US of A, i can only echo Vivek Sir's comment. When I came to chennai, "Chennai ennai poda vennai endradhu" and despite having done MS, i didn't get a job for more than a year. So, if you are abroad, please stay wherever you are.

Hey im from Toronto, Canada and I agree Chennai thaan gethu! I love coming to Chennai during my summer months (the only time I actually have time!) and yes the heat, beyond hot but I find myself still having fun. Enjoy the people, there are a lot of friendly people there.. First thing that comes to my mind when I plan a vacation...lets go to Chennai, India (other places too, but mainly for Chennai)...much love to Put Chutney from a Tamilan born and raised in Canada, but very passionate about the motherland! :D

This video has English sub-titles. You can see the sub-titles if you click on the small white box (with black dots and lines) at the bottom right side of the screen.....Also, I have not come across any Tamil lover who cannot understand Tamil.

Well its the same feels for anyone who leaves their hometown. They will really wanna come back for a short term but after a while because their standards of living aren't met to the ones they have abroad they tend to go back. And I think it is pretty reasonable to do so. As we know change is constant and its not humanly possible to go against the flow of nature. So stop hating people who leave their hometowns and settle abroad. They have a life to live and they live it however they want to.
