I legit quit it, after quitting and coming back since 06' I finally had enough with it early this year. The trick to truly quitting is to remember how toxic the games community is. I think another thing that helped me never even think to come back was I was one of the false bans they did awhile back. I never played with a sense of security and safety after it got reversed.
@@lom7923 You set your jewelry box to Castle Wars (fastest banking without crafting cape), Have a Mounted Glory with left click set to Edgeville (Alternate banking) then set your Portal Nexus to the Grand Exchange. This should be the default loadout for your house at all times. You then add a fairy ring + spirit tree combo at 90 con (boostable) and you only ever change out your Portal Nexus for teleports to niche places like Weiss etc. There ya go, you now have the most optimal house loadout. :)
I'd love to see Charlie collab in something like one of J1mmy's Runescape prop hunt videos, or just any fun collab in general. I tuned in for a few minutes and he was talking about Gielinor Games, so he seems at least a little bit interested in OSRS content
There’s a quest helper plug-in that’s being made that’s basically hints at your next move instead of straight telling what to do for the sake of immersion
Runelite is a seperate client confirmed by Jagex. Inside the client are 'plugins' that download and are installed into the client. The website for runelite can be found on the osrs official page
i love rs, but no, thats not brainrot, its a boring ass game that requires outside stimulation to get over how flavorless it can be at times. Doing shit like agility in complete silence and being stimulated is brainrot

Him talking about never quitting OSRS makes me think about how I'm currently hooked on Granblue Fantasy (I haven't spent a dime on it). It's fun to just zone out and grind.
runescape is easily the best game ever made, the fact that its peaking in 2024.. the only thing i can't understand is people who don't play ironman modes, idc if ur doing solo, group, hardcore, but taking GE and trading and stuff away Just makes the game so much better, ur actually forced to explore and play the game rather than sit at the GE making millions or doing 1 boss for max GP/per hour, cause thats all u care about when ur not an ironman, gold.
i graduated in 2010 and i recently got my account back from grade 5! on the f2p grind to high level fishing and cooking till i make enough money for a bond

runescape is not really a hard game to get into if you didnt grow up with it. i got into it in 2016 and been a strong addict ever since. once you start you never truly quit

i think it’s cause he uses original wired apple headphones. the microphone is inside the volume control button which hangs pretty low so it probably picks up his clicks and typing very well since it’s nearby.
My friend has been trying to get me to play runescape for a long time. I played with him a little. he gave me like a billion gold to buy whatever with and helped lvl me up some. I still don’t get why he’s so obsessed with this game. I don’t understand the addiction to chopping trees and making fires for hours.
its either because your friend gave you everything you needed instead of having to search the world for resources yourself or because you just weren't into it, same thing happens in any game, where if you give a new player alot of resources, and guide them through instead of letting them do whatever they want, it'll feel stale cause everything feels like its already done for you.
Lost my original Account years ago. Decided to start again with a buddy and after we beat all of f2p we are going to beat Members. Runescape is so fun and it never gets old. The joy I had listening to Dogs of War again was unimaginable.
I "quit" runescape about 7 years ago. I was a big time staker, worked up to 13b worth of gold. Got into a really bad argument with my then gf and drunkenly staked and lost it all. I get the itch to return every now and then...maybe the time has come.
Honestly, osrs is pretty easy to get into. Its not my first mmo (I’ve played toontown cc, animal jam as a kid and a few other random things) but it was the first of its kind for me and i started in 2019. Ive played off and on since finishing free to play since i didnt want to spend money on membership but i took the dive the past couple months to finally really get into it and its been hella worth it. My generation still loves the grind too dude. It’s just that most of us are on grindy ass gacha games like genshin. If the gacha games all disappeared tomorrow theres a good chance osrs would gain a huge player count.
toontown was the first mmo that ever got me super into the grind. I started playing runescape as my first mmo around 2005, but I never truly grinded away at a game until I did so with toontown in 2007-2008 lol
Ironically i recently started playing again. I had one of the first 1000 players of the original game in 2001, a character i still have in RS3. (Original name Spudnick4000, i was 11, but its on that list lol) 23 years later im on OSRS still. Its great, better than ever really, with Runelite and all the new quests etc. plus the community is nuts between clans, YT content, Jagex including people and stuff... Hell yeah. Plus Charlie.
for anyone who watches him play live.. please get this man to play in stretched mode at least- watching his entire body move as he squints to do any singular task hurts me deeply
After not playing since 2010, I figured I’d give a crack at it again. I’m bummed to find out my character is only accessible through RS3 and not OSRS. All the new content makes RS3 very overwhelming, and I’m not trying to restart on OSRS. My combat level is 71, with smithing, mining, and woodcutting all in the 70s Is it worth just restarting a new character on OSRS? Unfortunately, I think my RuneScape days are dead lol…
Honestly recently getting really burnt playing this as was grinding inferno my god I was ready to throw in the towel and quit for a year, but RNG smiled upon me and I got it and now have such a passion for playing it again!
Did the same last week.. bought membership . Bought a bond for my pure.. Sat him at crabs. Did guardians on the rift on the main .. 24h I quit again.. think you need a kind of plan when rejoining or you'll just get to bored an quit again. (Played since 01)

You ever consider a GIM? You mentioned thinking all skills are useless other than combat. I agree when playing a main. When playing an iron there is definitely a new found appreciation. If you and some friends do a GIM that would be some amazing content imo.
