My dad took me to a barber shop when I was a little kid, that was just like this, only the topic was football. I enjoyed every second of it. The local talk, the charm of nonsense of it all. :D
@@johngumbs2111 Cuba Gooding Jr. shot a scene in which his character (Boy Getting Haircut) tells Clarence that he does not have the money to pay for his haircut. Clarence responds by shaving a bald patch out of the boy's hair. But to Gooding's disappointment, the scene was deleted.
"hey its Kunta Kinte!" and the laugh from all 3 elders made me laugh hard, they just love to tease, a tease from kind, loveable and friendly elders, believe me that hit home.
And if they had walked into a white barber shop and were called that, there would be an uproar all over social media. Thank goodness this film came out before the world forgot what humor was.
@@jonny-b4954 Oh, no...All of them were him...He even had an operation to make himself shorter...He also directed, edited and distributed the movie...He's Like a modern day Quentin Tarantino!
What are the chances of an old Jewish man hanging out in a black barber shop though, lmao! I guess they wanted some diversity and this was considered more acceptable than eddie murphy in yellow face with a Chinese accent being an old buck toothed Chinese man.
@@-M0LE that’s because your goofy ass was probably born between 1997-2002……….you wouldn’t know anything about classics. Go play your Fortnite and listen your Justin Bieber crap!
Fifty years ago you needed to get in good with the father. Today, you need to get in good with her mother. Trust me on this, bro. No matter if you are in a black neighborhood, or white, you get in good with mom. Oh, you want a suburban chick? Unless she's Indian, Mom is the key. Keyword: Mom!
It still blows my mind that it was Eddie playing the old white man. Thats good acting. 👍 Also, I see a lot of Eddie Murphys Dad in the barber. Sounds like his impression of his Dad in his standup.
Holy crap eddie plays the white guy too. That is fricken incredible. You can only tell because you recognize his voice a few times. That is some epic makeup and acting right there.
The thing with the guys at the barber shop. What they are debating sound like a legit argument. Even though gets a bit silly it still hilarious. It has enough realism and a enough wackiness which makes it perfectly balanced and which makes there scenes really stand out.
"Oh there they go! There they go! Every time I start talking about boxing..." 🤣🤣🤣. That had me rolling before he went on his rant. I don't know why. I saw this movie for the first time this weekend. I always remember the trailer when I rented Beverley Hills Cop 1-3. I see now why it will always be a classic. 🐺🤘
“That’ll be $8”. You know how many times my buddies and I said that in high school? More than can be counted. We referenced it to anything insignificant. Eddie was amazing in this one.
The part where he says "somebody gotta pull rocky marciano out their ass" reminds me of boondonks when uncle ruckus saids " wha wha wha what......you gonna pull ali outtcha ya ass"
when im retired or getting older, i want just chilling in this barber, bringing all fried drumsticks, sodas, whole damn catering buffet in there, imagine eating crunchy wings, and listening all type of argument and jokes and roasting while smiling. All day is not enough you want to comeback even you bald.
A white man using "Kunta" as Nickname for Akeem... in 2018 that movie could be censored because racism... even if he is a black man portraying a white man...
