Been watching John Amos since the 80's....since the Beastmaster and John was a BEAST in that movie!!! Great actor! Best scene in Coming 2 America when he said that the prince made Eric LaSalle look like a welfare case lol.....epic!!!

Man I like John Amos, he's Awesome. I may be only 21, but man do I like the show " Good Times. " You don't ever find shows now a days that even come close to this great legendary show of epic quality and good life lessons. This show really connected me, as opposed now a days we got violence, bad shit going on, and hookers, one night stands, bs, etc. etc. etc. etc. I especially liked the episode in season 1, where the father explained to his son why he was about to give him a whopping, and that really did connect to me, and this episode will always be my #1 favorite of the entire series (though I only watched season 1, I saw a few other episodes from other seasons on tv, but they didn't get me like this episode did).
Mr. John Amos has done many various movies and all movies i have watched, i get the feeling of John, that mysterious feeling of humanity..HE IS A LIVING LEGEND AMONG US ALL \o/

Great interview!! This was recorded at a uk comic con right milton Keynes maybe? not sure but i was there with my dad and met john that weekend. He indeed signed a coming to America picture for me and took a photo with me. he signed it with the quote "To Dave, Stay off the drugs, best wishes, John Amos" ..such a nice guy
There's another interview where he gives more detail to the dialogue of that prank. Apparently when Murphy in disguise asked him what he did on the film Amos said he was an actor, to which Murphy replied "Nah, man. You ain't no actor. You look like you carry around heavy stuff on the set." It's a pretty good burn.
I've always liked this guy but my favorite role of his was Admiral Fitzwallace-- 'Hell, I'm an OLD black man and I wait on the President! It's an honor! Leo, I got some honest-to-God touch battles to fight in this job. I don't have time for the cosmetic ones.'
