Our new seasonal ban list along with explanations can be found in the article: www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/commander-clash-s10-e1-gods-of-kaldheim-cosima-vs-esika-vs-tergrid-vs-valki The seasonal bans are: Rhystic Study Mystic Remora Notion Thief Narset, Parter of Veils Hullbreacher Gaea's Cradle Mana Crypt Strip Mine MLD / Mass Mana Denial like Blood Moon Smothering Tithe Teferi's Protection Dockside Extortionist Necropotence Survival of the Fittest Anything not on this list is okay to run this season. So cards like Sol Ring, Cyclonic Rift, and Wheel of Fortune are unbanned.

You really need to be more specific with the land hate ban. For example, is From the Ashes banned even though it lets you replace your lands? Is the Great Aurora banned? Is Brine Elemental banned? I wouldn’t mind problematic cards banned, but I hate wishy-washy, open-to-interpretation rules. Also, it kinda feels like you’re effectively banning mono-white decks. The most effective strategy they had was MLD which I guess only Vince and Richard were playing. Aside from that, you took away two essential mono-white staples and gave an even worse one back to blue. If it’s okay to neuter the least effective color, then it’s okay to keep Rift banned.

@@mmlgamer The probability of any of these four players actually wanting to play a mono-white deck this season anyway was pretty much nil. They very rarely play monocolored decks on Commander Clash anyway, much less mono-white ones. Remember, this isn't intended as a "Commander Clash approved / recommended" ban list for general play - it's just for THIS specific play group to shake things up this season.

@@LunaLasceria I get what you're saying but it makes it a self forfilling prophecy. There are a few fun mono white legends in the new set but compared to the other colors they aren't that good. I get smothering tithe in non mono white but I put a clause in there for if they play mono white, same for teferis protection. I use MLD so don't agree with that but I do understand that many people don't like it.

Dear Tomer, You are leaving free content on the table by not explaining the ban list. I may indeed be lazy like most people but if you made a video about the ban list. (maybe even broken into parts) It would be extra content and maybe a fun time if another person came in with you to banter as you reviewed your own ban list. Also, it may cause others to follow with your example. From your friends in the stands.

Man, if only Tomer had some sort of mana sink in the command zone for all that flood. If somehow a certain opponent lost their reliquary tower it could have been pretty relevant to make them discard like 5 cards per turn or lose 3 life...

Tomer got handed the answer to Crim’s Tergrid-Wheel with Seth giving him Scarab God and Richard giving him the Island to activate it, but was too stuck into his initial game plan to realize it. I can’t even complain because I’ve been in that same position so many times.

@Jim Harbor I think the idea was to reanimate his own Tergrid if it died, so that it would be his triggers resolving first. Of course, he didn't know what type of removal Crim was holding up, but it was still a pretty grave misplay.

I'm not so sure about Smothering Tithe and Teferi's Protection being on the banlist. I understand MLD, but White really doesn't need to be worse than it already is.

What a classic way to start of the new season. Tomer snags Tergrid from Crim, yet he manages to to build the better tergrid deck. Then Richard draws his deck and locks down the table, while Seth does nothing. #StopRichard

So 650$ LED and 600$ Wheel are ok but not 300$ Survival? I actually think Survival is safer than LED but I'm fine with wheel. Value forever! Also, I'm calling it: Crim's secret busted card is Dream Devourer.

not to be a bummer, but anyone else tired of wheel decks in a general sense? I already didn't like playing against them and I feel like the last year of cards has just made them OP at any casual table. Like the counter play to anything hinges on having a card to answer something in your hand, but it seems too easy now to rip someones whole hand for value and have the whole table sit there empty handed while only one person plays.

Honestly agree. Are they very powerful - perhaps too powerful - effects? Absolutely. The problem is that they're just about the only things white has going for it in commander, so banning them hoses the color MUCH harder than any of the other bans affect the other colors.

it'll be interesting to see if the banning of smothering tithe and teferi's protection will cause a decline in y'all choosing to play mono white, or maybe even playing with white in general. teferi's protection has some comparable alternatives, but the burst mana that smothering tithe provides is a pretty singular effect. i'm excited to see you guys do another season analysis when this season is over. it'll be cool to see how the new ban list changes y'all's playstyles, staples, and color interests

Honestly pretty disappointed with Tomer's punts this game - not killing Richard's Sphinx - not blowing up academy ruins - not blowing up academy ruins 2 electric boogaloo (to have an out in Richard milling out) Someone also mentioned something about Scarab God. So many things you could have done to prevent Richard winning again... Hoping for better next time~

So, Cyclonic Rift is okay, but ban Teferi's Protection (basically one of the only non-Blue counters to Cyclonic Rift). Teferi's Protecion is usually only a defensive spell, while C-Rift is either a big defensive spell, a Win Con, or at its worst, a 2 mana removal spell. But ban Teferi's Protection. Got it.

What's the reason why Tomer didn't Tectonic Edge Richard's Reliquary Tower at 1:42:25 ? Did he forgot like apparently with the Academy Ruins? And isn't playing Lattice combo kinda against the spirit of the banlist because it's essentially mass land destruction?

I agree with a majority of the ban list, especially based on the playgroup. The one I disagree with is Strip Mine. Every deck should have some targeted land destruction and now that would simply be swapped with Wasteland, Tec Edge, etc. so not sure it actually achieves anything. For the lattice lock it is a 10 mana, 2 card combo that could have been answered on board with the tec edge so I think it was fair. I agree I wouldnt want to see it every week but since Karn fit into the deck theme so well I thought it was reasonable. Still better than the random kiki/zealous conscript win for a few seasons back.

Okay am I missing something or could Tomer have held up the activation of Scarab God, let Crim kill his Tergrid leave it in the grave, then activated the Scarab God to make a Tergrid in response to the Wheel that Crim casts on his turn? That would mean Crim gets so he would nothing because the only card in Tomer's hand is Feed the Swarm, and Tomer would get everything else from all 3 of their hands.

Big player mistake on Tomer's part olat 1:01:00. You should have kept the five mana up for The Sacrab God. You knew that Crim would kill your commander. You could have let it go to the graveyard, and then reanimated it with The Scarab God, so you would get the value off of the Wheel.

So, Seth immediately plays the back half of his commander. Crim ends up with tirgrid, Tomer shoots himself in the foot with a budget deck. and nobody bothers richard despite the stats episode. Almost everything in the intro as a lie. The boys stick to their bad habbits. Smells like a new season of commander clash.

I don't understand the banlist...why ban dual lands based on cost, but leave Wheel of Fortune? Why ban Narset/Notion Thief etc, but leave Opposition Agent?

I like how mass mana denial is on the ban list and Richard wins with mass mana denial in complete disregard for the banlist. I honestly don't think I have much interest in watching more commander clash this season if its just gonna be absurd broken ramp and richard ignoring the banlist, I already miss last season :( EDIT: I did enjoy the faces, for what its worth

Now with faces and fast mana! Faces - nice, editor did a great job managing them. Nice to see everyone! Fast Mana - as long as it doesn't lead to consistently faster games. Not fun to see someone go off on turn 4-6, we need the time for the game to gel and everyone it get their jokes in. Too many early wins will take away from the chemistry you guys have developed!

1:00:15 Tomer stressing about accidentally discarding his Feed the Swarm when he should be stressing over the fact that Richard and Seth gifted him with instant speed reanimation (Scarab God) and the mana to use it (Island), but he spent his mana on punting instead of holding up a Scarab God activation :)

Tomer threw the game away due to salt. He had the answer to Crim in Scarab God first and the answer to Richards land after. Crim also missplayed not killing KARN with Rakdos charm.
