Commander Clash S7 E23: Anything Goes | Daxos vs. Golos vs. Karona vs. Thraximundar 

I like the deck intros, it gives me a chance to see who is playing what commander before jumping right in and some decks need a short explanation to understand what they are trying do. It is also easy enough for anyone who does not want to see the intro to just skip forward.

Crim's problem isn't lands, he just doesn't play any ramp

Crim's lack of ramp really does impair the gameplay. we've missed out on drastically different games if all four players were interacting instead of three.

I really think one of y'all needs to help Crim with his deck building like seriously. 36 lands is fine but 36 lands and no ramp is not good, especially in Grixis. There's very easy cuts to put in any mana ramp, like counterbalance and Top those really don't need to be in your deck. There's so many pet cards that could be easily replaced for ramp. Just some advice because it really hurts y'all's content seeing one player literally do nothing for an hour

I prefer a more thorough intro so that I know what to look for in a deck. A bit of background makes the play more interesting to me.

I like the look of the intro, it's a quality that other MTGO gameplays don't have. It's definitely better when you don't spoil EXACTLY what you're doing so you avoid getting targeted immediately but I love the art cut out with the deck on the side. Also huge props to Tomer for bringing a deck that came under 3 digits versus some of the decks going up to 4. Budget week!

I see now why crim is always so mana screwed. Its got nothing to do with his land count and everything to do with thr fact that he hasnt got a single piece of mana acceleration in his deck list. Not a single piece of ramp at all, and i thinking back over past episodes i barely remember seeing him run any then either. There also isnt enough card draw to help draw into the lands he does run, 1 card per turn is never going to get you enough gas or mana to do anything with. Theres some juicy stuff in this list, in many of his decks, but so many games just involve crim sitting there doing nothing because he doesnt run any ramp or card draw and so most of the time these games are just 3 man pods with a spectator and it doesnt make for good viewing, nor can i imagine a good play experience for crim who never gets to do anything. I enjoy crim on the show, but he so rarely manages to achieve anything in games and i worry that he will get disillusioned and not want to join in anymore after a while and we'll lose a fun personality whose willingness to bring cards like counterballance and blood moon to tables does bring an interesting spin to the group dynamic. So please, crim, if you read this run 8-10 mana accelerants like rocks etc, and some more card draw just to allow you to play the decks you build, you dont have to cut pet cards or compromise on fun, but you do compromise your fun by never being able to play it either by never drawing it or never having the mana to play it even if you luck into it with your naturally draws. In a multiplayer format your opponents are drawing 3 cards to your 1 just through natural draws alone, you need to be trying to match them

Pretty sure part of why Crim always gets mana screwed is that he plays literally no ramp/mana rocks. It obviously doesn't stop him from only drawing 4 lands, but he'd still have access to a more reasonable amount of mana.

as a long time watcher, I do miss the intro very much.

Even though I skip the deck techs on other series, I always watch every bit of the deck intros on Commander Clash. The pre-game banter is always entertaining.

please bring back the deck intros they were so nice and added a bit of personality to the game

I like the deck intros at the start, I like seeing people go over their decks before playing and gives me a bit to get into the video

Crim plays 36 lands and 0 ramp. Next least at the table nears 50 mana cards. Is it really suprising that the screw comes a swingin' every week? :D

I miss the deck intros. I like the overview of the decks. Knowing what each player goal of the deck is and watching how they are trying navigate the game into their favor.

Crim really need to get better at deck building it not fun watching a 3 player game since he won't add the right amount of lands or mana rocks/ramp

I prefer the old format. I found myself wondering what people wanted to do in the beginning as I didn't even know what the commanders did. The outro being a bit shorter's fine - but I really miss the intro. Also bring back the labels for which opening hand belongs to whom.

I like the idea of each player explaining their deck during turn one. HOWEVER: Deck outros are super important. This is often the first match you guys play with your new deck, so hearing your thoughts on how it played out is useful for anyone interested in building the deck.

I usually listened to the deck intros, but the 20 minute long outros were where I tuned out about 50% of the time. This is an alright change. Always experiment

Yeah I prefer the longer intros and outros - it's never gonna be a short video format so lean into it like you usually do. I look forward to this every Saturday morning (in the UK).

Bring back the deck intros, it gives you a sense of what is going to happen, the start of this video felt rushed over the gameplay and it took attention away from the game

I'm a fan of the deck intros. To be honest, we like this show because of your personalities (apart from the gameplay) and the intros help provide some funny banter that is just that - fun.

in a long format video like this, I like the slower intro with the deck techs, it helps settle in to a reasonably long time commitment Edit: also, I like Tomer running budget decks, but anything goes weeks feels like the worst time to do it

I like the deck intros personally. Commander Clash is already super long, so what’s an extra ten minutes? It’s way more chill than other series so I don’t think we need to rush to the action.

Adding to the voices saying I liked the intros how they were. They give so much personality to the gameplay and also gave insights into what the decks were trying to do.

The banter between the players are one of the best parts of this show. If you cut out the intros we miss out on a vital part imo. Although Tomer's and Andrew's intro banter was still on point!

Going to reiterate, but the intros were great for setting up the decks. I honestly was lost during the episode, since the intros gave context and helped show what the deck was trying to do, and made me excited to see the deck do the thing.

Crim having the answer for the Dryad the *entire* time and not using it was so tilting. Seriously why wouldn’t you use the Murderous Rider against the guy who was winning? It couldn’t have been because he was also scared of Seth, because he also had the answer for him with Toxic Deluge. The only possible reason I could think of was the possibility of Andrew then targeting him instead of Seth, but he was looking at a boardstate where Andrew didn’t *need* to attack him to win.

I like the short intros, but can you put each commander with description enlarged with the video so we can see what the decks are built around? Also, can you put each person's' name next to their starting hand so we know?

I also like the old intros, even if they are vague and don't go into themes too much for the sake of not getting hated out. Also, we didn't get names for the opening hands which added complexity as well. Edit: And Andrew and Crim were flipped in terms of opening hands for game 2.

Props to seth after some criticism of recent decks. Was cringing when I heard enchantress but it was a really proactive version of enchantress that could win pre turn 15 which is not common in the archetype.

Currently brewing a Happily Ever After Daxos deck for my playgroup since we like indulging in goofy deck concepts; honestly havent been this excited since food tribal Tasigur!

I was personally a fan of getting rid of the deck intros. But I like JUMPING right into it

oof I don't know where to start with this one. Firstly I think crim needs to add more rocks and/or ramp so he doesn't have another game where he just sits and doesn't do anything. It sucks to watch and I'm sure it isn't really fun to not be able to play. Secondly the salt from andrew on why daxos isn't good after a while just got annoying. Banter can be enjoyable but not when it's the same argument over and over again. Lastly, and I could be wrong, but I felt like Tomer playing a budget Daxos hindered himself and he could have had much better games if he didn't play a budget version.

I like the no intro because the game flows better. I liked that you had little intros on the first couple turns, when everyone is setting up, and there isn't much to comment on.

I prefer having the intros, it show cases the deck for what it's supposed to be doing for the audience

Keep the deck intros plz. It gives us all a good feel for the deck and let's us see what's in them without having to stop and look at the list

I like having the deck intros more. I find them informative, I can follow the deck theme easier when one of you are explaining it, and the banter is fun!

If you're worried about the deck intros and want to change them up, I'd suggest tightening them up to short blurbs while still showing the list as a background. We can pause during that stretch if we need to, and the shorter verbal intro is kinda like what players should do sitting down with strangers anyway.

I'm here for the awesome game play! Intro is cool but that doesnt matter! Especially if I get to see seth blowing up everything besides his gods and killing everyone.

The "e" is "jitte" is a short 'e' sound like in the word "ten". We know the set was based entirely around Japanese culture, so we can look at the Japanese cards for reference. The "ji" on the Japanese MTG card is actually the character for "ten" which by itself is typically romanized as "ju" (long 'u' sound, like the 'oo' in "boot"). However, that syllable is diminished in the word "jitte" so it sounds more like "ji" (short 'i', like "it") when spoken.

Crim pls use a deck builder to draw up sample hands. There's loads. Your issue is you don't run enough ramp or lands. Your land count may be acceptable in a lower CMC deck but you tend to be more on the expensive sides

I couldn't be happier to see Thraximundar getting some time in the sun. He ran my first commander deck (and subsequently solidified my adoration for Grixis as a whole) and was actually also the lead for a zombie tribal deck later down the line before i changed it around to wizards with Inalla. But, he's not running Grimgrin and that's just incorrect.

I disliked the way of handling the deck intros this week as the Intros were extremly chaotic and not that focused - though the interactions between each other during the Intros and the shit talking of best husbando was very entertaining.
