It's funny that Jhoira weatherlight captain is my all time strongest commander, but the Tergrid deck I built my wife is undefeated (the two decks have never played against each other). So I was quite divided on who to root for
Yes, they're very powerful. Definitely not for casual commander. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I know Joe wants to have a rematch with these decks, even though he won. He feels like it was a cheap win because of our miss play. So hopefully we get can record another one. And he can earn it for real, or maybe someone else can take the top spot.
@@highpoweredhobby I like to think of myself as no limits casual because I don't have all the CEDH staples but my $1700 deck is not casual either lol. Do you run words of wind in your Jhoira weatherlight captain deck? It's my favorite wincon for that deck. I also like the mystic forge sensei's divining top aetherflux reservoir combo as well as the walking ballista dramatic reversal isochron scepter combo and you should think about a staff of domination for your metalworker maybe?
We definitely consider ourselves something similar to no limits casual. Our Channel is called High-Powered Hobby after all. I'll make sure Joe answers your questions about his Jhoira deck. I don't know it fully. I eventually want to get get deck lists from everyone and put links to them in the video descriptions.
I do not run words of wind. But I'd be willing to try it. Jhoira and tergrid are two of my strongest for sure. It was fun to see them play against one another
@@Crowesnest69 words of wind is a full service combo. In its base form you just bounce two mana rocks back and forth to return every permanent controlled by every other player to their hands. If you have like mana crypt and sol ring you end up with infinite mana and if you have a way to draw more cards you can draw your deck. It's mean, but awesome and works because Jhoira's draw effect. Yeah I've never played my Jhoira deck against my wife's Tergrid deck so her Tergrid deck has literally never lost a game before.
We were bummed about it, too. We had just gone too far to rewind our mistake. But thanks for the comment, regardless. Hopefully it will help us get better.
