So the GPS distance was 70 miles, combined with 28mph average speed give us great range for slower ride. For sure comparable with first generation of commander.
Doing some quick math here... 134.4v / 4.2v = 32S battery. The generally accepted "safe" low cut-off voltage for Li-Ion batteries is 2.5v, which would be 2.5v * 32 = 80V. Discharging below this causes damage to the cells, which can result in a fire when charging the battery again. For battery longevity, sometimes 2.75v/3v is recommended, which would correspond to the 96v quoted. This also gives margin in case some of the cells are weaker and have discharged more than others. Basically, I think if the wheel allowed the voltage to drop below 80v, I would say that is a very serious issue and I would be nervous about it potentially causing a charging fire. Glad you stopped riding it when you did!
Yes. Marty thinks that since this used to be a 100v wheel, they may have forgotten to change the programming in the low battery to reflect the 134v. Regardless, this error has been reported back to Jason at eWheels to be addressed before Production. Along with other issues we've discovered.
The commander pro works very strangely. In other wheels AFAIK, the minimum voltage per cell is 3.25 volts. Total we have 32 * 3.25 = 104 min voltage...
Oh shit, only once down to 83V: 2.6V/cell average is still within discharge spec at 2.5V. But as a pack is never perfectly balanced some cells probably went below at some point. Not a good idea to allow such low discharge without a Smart BMS to make sure each individual group is okay.
2.5v is damaging your battery thats way too low. nonetheless, i think its good to have the option to use the full battery in emergency cases. 3.2 to 3v minimum is the normal cutoff range which gives you about 1 volt of difference which is why batteries are normally rated at nominal capacity of 3.7v
@@Blox117 agree discharging down to 2.5V is increasing ageing, but it's the voltage quoted in INR21700-50E.pdf "nominal specifications" Also: "1.2.2 Cut-off Voltage of discharging must be over 2.5V" QC before sending this wheel for testing: 😬

In-and-Out burgers, running into your daughter in traffic, your interactions with bystanders, and lots of unique takes on the performance of the wheels you are trying out... great stuff. Your voiceovers are offbeat and natural. Seeing how quickly and how far your dedication and natural abilities have brought you is great motivation. Have you ever considered posting video of yourself from when you learned individual advanced skills (riding backwards, seated, etc.) or even just giving quick takes withyour unique perspective on what's useful when learning them? I know making these videos requires time and effort. Just wanted to say how greatly it would be appreciated. I feel like your style would make for relatable instructional videos. I think going below 2.5V and over 4.2V per cell will lead to permanent damage that could lead to fires later on.

Maybe I just have a crush on you and I don’t even know it lol, because you are definitely a delight to watch and to listen to you make me smile when you are making your videos. You and everybody else that make these videos helps others to decide what they want for a unicycle. There was a couple of questions I was wondering about on the command pro and you answered them in your videos, thank you. I’m debating on a long range unicycle V13, commando pro, or EX30 which you haven’t demoed yet, so I need to wait for that review. Plus they’re so expensive that I still need a couple thousand before I can get either one of them. Again keep up the good videos you’re doing an awesome job.😊
I'm kind of wondering if one could somehow use those unused tapped holes in front to mount some headlights. Or if maybe that's what they intended on doing and decided not to. 🤔
Man I can't wait til I'm able to just go 40mph with ease. Especially on my EX30. I'm almost at 2000 miles on my first wheel the EX30. Yet I just have to keep riding.
Question about hearing your music in your helmet. Cant you wear bluetooth headphones(that ones that fit in your ear) if your wheel is connected wont you hear the beeps as well as you music?
Yes. You can do that. Only thing is, helmets are supposed to be tight fitting enough that they squeeze your cheeks a bit. So wearing earbuds would be quite uncomfortable after a little while. Helmet speakers are flat, round disc shaped and fits into the ear depressions in the helmet for a more seamless fit.
looking to replace my exn. was choosing v13 and sherman s but this is probably what im actually going to get. better voltage and speed than the sherman, lighter and smaller and more agile than v13 in your opinion how do they compare?
also, the speakers need to be equalized properly to sound good. exn speakers suck until you equalize them, then they sound like good bluetooth speakers.
Even thou the commander sucks, your videos and Marty’s videos don’t. you cruising California trails or Arizona, because I wish we had these in Michigan, thanks, keep them coming 🤩👍
