It's a sad day for commander versus. Suarez was consistently a good player and for the vast majority of the time made solid plays and made sweet decks. John, we're going to miss you. I hope that whatever is troubling you in your personal life is resolved soon, and I hope to see you back on the show. Although I'm on #teamstephen, your abscence will be felt, good luck man!

Somebody “poked the bear” (Bonus: somebody replays: “you done poking”) 23. A card gets read out loud 24. Somebody catches Stephen looking at somebody’s hand 25. Thanks Jonathan for being part of helping me figure out what commander means to me as a format and helping me play better with my friends. This series as a whole has helped with my commander playing and I want you all to know I am forever grateful for that.

I'm really sad to see Suarez go... He was the player I related to the most in terms of his deck building, play style, and bitterness. I will continue to watch Commander Vs, as I have for the past few years, but it will definitely be in a different light. I have been watching these videos since the very beginning, I mean since before these guys were even on here and I have to say that this game was one of the best I have seen all the decks played really well and they were all built very nicely. Jon should have realized that Aurelia's trigger untaps ALL his creatures, not just attackers - Arcanis would have been untapped, and he could have drawn 3 more cards after using him as a blocker. May not have made a difference in the end given that he'd still be taking 51 at best, but that's assuming he didn't draw anything useful in those 3 cards... like, say, removal. He'd already used a swords to plowshares, but a path to exile or even a tragic slip could have saved him and given him another turn.

I apologize for it not being more clear in the video. I let the Stonewood Invocation resolve and then I Capsized the equipment.

You guys should do a theme where you utilize Command Beacon to get the commander into your hand for creatures like Haakon, Phage, Inname as one, and Myojin. Or any legendary creatures with Dash, Ninjutsu, Channel, or Grandeur.

Justin should definitely play an episode with Geth as a commander.

The guard might be more creature based with a "going wide" strategy in a protective feel to the king as well as spells for straight up protection and the like. Where the two separate spy decks can be more of an aggressive-midrange style designed to hone in on one player and take THE MOST amount of advantage out of certain cards or abilities. This need to be mostly kept secret from the players as far as decks and commanders and such so that it's not auto know who everyone is. Each player will know who they are and develope from there with points being heavy for the spy's for killing a king less for spy and less for guard. Then king and guard as team with the guard being able to also score if he's dead but the king lives on. He may also win the game alone but receive much less points and having the king get none. Maybe have a clause that says turn 8(-9-10ish)if it's not obvious who is who the token cards become reviled. Or something hahahaha either way thanks for the great content!

I don't know if anyone would like to also watch this, but an idea for a video is to play french rules but in a four person game, I understand that most people want their commander games to not have very powerful cards such as grisselbrand, (spelling may be incorrect) but not having access to cards like sol ring seems like a fare trade, and the added aspect of having to build a multi player deck in a one verses one format seems really interesting, at least it does to me. If anyone else feels like this may be a fun video please comment and maybe we can get it to happen. :)

Aurelia actually untapped Suarez' Arcanis, so he would have had an additional blocker, and maybe lived. Regardless, Parnell is my man, so I'm glad he pulled out the win!

even if they realized that arcanis untapped it's a 3/4 as well it would have been 50 damage exactly.

So, there was one play: namely the untapping of John's creatures do to the Warleader's trigger. He could of untapped his magus and had another blocker or an additional three cards. But other then that Good Game!

Request: Pauper Commander! I know there are different rules out there, but the group I play with has always done that your commander can be any creature that has been printed as an uncommon on MTGO, the rest of your 99 can be either basics or cards that have been printed at common on MTGO. We've always respected MTGO rarities and the MTGO banlist for pauper, as it's the only one that's widely defined. For pauper commander, I think you can easily just ignore the banlist (we enforce the banlist, but there's nothing on there that's too oppressive in a singleton format).
