For the people who are still confused; no, she didn’t bring the real Marie curie she’s dead obviously. She actually managed to come into contact with her late granddaughter: Mary curry (full name is Mary Slovakian curry).
Karolina. I’m from Kharkov, Ukrainian city almost completely destroyed by russian forces. I want to thank you and your people for everything you do for us in your country. We never felt so welcomed anywhere! I fled with my husband, two year old daughter, my mother and grandfather, and we stayed in Lublin for a short time before moving forward to Germany. Poland is incredible! Thank you. Thank you from all of us. Stay safe!
Ukraini is um, good country, I love Ukraini prez Zelensky, and Russia, but Putin should be bombing turkey not Ukraine. Ukraine is same white christian people, Putin is a traitor to European western civilization
I love that they chose the phrase "bootleg Anne Hathaway" as an insult. tbh if someone called me a "bootleg Anne Hathaway" I'd probably just take it as a (very confused) compliment
Karolina, I'm almost 70. I'm American. I'm a child of people who fought in WW2. So while I did not grow up with daily physically reminders, I grew up with the knowledge of the horror. My relatives, mainly Tios, were so shell shocked most did not speak of their experiences until into their 70's. You are an amazing woman. A woman any mother would be proud to call her own. Talented, erudite, multi-linguist, compassionate you carry within you the best of the Polish peoples. God bless you and keep you strong. Please let us know when you need us to help you. We are waiting, baby food in hand.
Hi Karolina, I understand why you turned off comments on your latest video but I wanted to say that I first of all applaud the help and humanity you and your fellow Poles are showing to Ukrainians. I think you touched on a point in your video that is forgotten in many western European countries and definitely in America (I have lived in both regions): we have lost a lot of the collective memory of war that touched us all in WWII and the conditions of which continued behind the "Iron Curtain" that western Europeans and Americans felt free to ignore until they couldn't. I think now that trauma is being reawakened and triggered in Eastern Europe and serving as a new lesson for the WEs and Americans to understand. Thank you for sharing your and your family's story and sharing how impactful this is for everyone in Poland right now. We love you, stay safe.
Dear heart we know. We sit in our homes feeling helpless and angry. So we send what we can and hope it eases someone's burdens even if it is for only that moment on that day. Watching you fight back tears while the world crumbles around you knowing things are changing and some will never be the same. The people of Russia also know but fear their terrorist leader. Yes some are protesting, some are fleeing through Finland. In the end the only thing any of us have is our humanity. Hang on to it at all costs. Hugs!!!
Thank you both for mentioning the trauma being reawakened... I was born in Poland but grew up in the US. My grandparents all had horrific stories of the war that they told me. As a child, it felt far away, and now as an adult I feel so grateful to know their stories, terrible as they were, as it makes me feel closer to humanity and more determined to do what I can to not let these horrors happen again. My heart just breaks daily at the destruction of so many lives. And I feel so proud of the Polish people who are stepping up so epically to help their neighbors.
I love laughing at ridiculous comments/messages. We get a lot of horrible people in customer service and we would sometimes put the ridiculously rude ones on the back of the toilet door to read lol.
I remember a woman complaining about the ice cream being too cold And a guy who complained about the deep fried chicken. Then I got a job at a brand new cinema than a woman complained about the building being old fashioned like something from the 80s and that the floor would be dangerous if wet
I feel that! I work in customer service and my favorite thread was one person who sent 8 (!!) emails in a row, that resembled perfectly the five stages of grief. Deeply wish to write a book one day about customers like him.

Me: No, actually my mother is a childcare professional, but either way I don't see what she or her job has to do with your credit card bill.
In my college English class, the professor spent a whole class period lecturing about what satire was, then sent us home to read A Modest Proposal. Two days later, the whole class returns, and at least half of them are legit outraged that Jonathan Swift was a cannibal. Satire is hard to understand, I guess.

Karolina: Your latest video on the Ukrainian refugees was outstanding and I posted it on all my social media accounts. I come from a French family that mostly lives in France, and I appreciated your comment about how Eastern Europeans are centered around their experiences of war. My French family is like that. They are so warm to me. Once when I first went to the USA and did not come back for ten years when I did come back it was as if I had never left. This is in the French culture. They knew you could be taken away for years, but when you came back you could take up life again as if you never left. My parents who lived under the NAZIS in France as kids, always act as if they will never see me again even if I leave for a few days. That is what it was like for them as kids. Often times when people left they would never see them again. Anyway, this was an outstanding video! Do more of them!!!

Yes it's true we shouldn't blame them, ale jak mozemy rozumiec to ze, in this moment we still have people in Ukraine like Azov who still lead pogroms. They want to kill. Ukrainians did nothing to stop it. It was sanctioned by the government. Both sides are just as evil. I accept refugees; but I don't accept neo nazis. Hi Karolina: I just watched your “What’s happening in Poland” video, but the comments are turned off so I’m responding here. First, thank you for filming scenes in your city so Americans like me can see the reality of what Ukraine and Poland are experiencing. Second, THANK YOU POLAND for stepping up and giving of yourselves so generously! We are hearing news stories of what Poland is doing, and we are amazed. Third, there are a few of us who do know enough history to have some understanding of what Poland has been through in the not-so-distant past, the memories this war brings up (I nearly cried when your grandma was upset by the cannon at the concert), and how your own trauma has caused you to empathize with the Ukrainians and take immediate action to help them. Poland is a light shining in the darkness! I also appreciate how the situation is going to get worse before it gets better, it’s probably going to last longer than we think, and it’s going to take a toll on Poland and your other NATO neighbors in Eastern Europe. Please know that some people get that and are trying to help from a distance, and that your region and its people are never out of our thoughts. I will be praying for Poland as well as Ukraine, and I thank you again for your video. Hang in there, Karolina!

People forget Europeans are widely diverse, we can be super pale, light blue eyes almost white hair to dark brown eyes, black hair and tan skin. We aren't all blue eyed blonde Nords lol
Interestingly enough in europe itself it's a stereotype that slavs have rather brown hair and brown eyes, while the further north you go the blonder (is this a word?) the average hair colour gets. Respectively, the closer you are to ireland the higher is the precentage of redheads and the further south you go the darker the hair and complexion gets, reaching regions like south italy, south spain or the southern balkan where many people would probably be mislabeled as "latino" if they moved to north america.
Karolina, thank you for your video on your perspective on the war. As a Ukrainian, I can't help but cry (happy tears) witnessing the outpouring of kindness and generosity from our European neighbors but especially Poland. I can imagine that taking in so many people in such a short amount of time is not easy, and while me and my family are elsewhere in EU at the moment and didn't even pass through Poland on our way, I'm still forever grateful for the support Poles have given and continue to provide to my fellow citizens and friends.

I DO get insecure about my appearance, but when I see someone like you who IS pretty - even by the difficult to meet "conventional beauty" standards - being called ugly, it always reminds me that people calling me ugly is kinda meaningless. They call girls who look like models "ugly". They're just gonna say it to anyone they think it might bother. (...Doesnt mean Im conventionally attractive either lol but yea).
I personally believe no one is ugly, beauty is like food! u might be a broccoli sure a lot of ppl don’t like broccoli but that doesn’t mean ur bad ur just a different taste, & u could be a cake nice and sweet so most ppl think ur delicious but some don’t rly like sweets (personally I prefer broccoli over cake tbh)

8:13 One of the most notable traits of Polish women I've seen is that they have no single consistent traits. German women stereotypically have blond hair and blue eyes, Irish women stereotypically have red hair and green eyes, Italians with black hair and brown eyes, but Poles are such a blend of eastern, western, and southern Europe that my image of a Polish woman is based solely on my own preferences, rather than any consistent natural trends. Germans are known for being tall, Italians are known for being short, Poles go in all directions
So we’re making fun of people’s accents now? Bet half of these people can’t even speak their one language right. Personally I love your accent, it’s very pretty.
I actually met a woman once who spoke did not have amy mothee tongue, she spoke about 4 languages but neither of them fluently, i wonder how that happened. Karolina, I wanted you to know that your latest video has helped me to reach out to my much-loved Polish colleague here in the UK. I do not think I would have thought to ask him how he is and how his family in Poland are doing without having heard what you had to say. It was heart breaking to hear how similar his account was to your own. He said that it is like the horrors of the history books are now on TV and walking the streets. I work at a University and in Senate this morning, we were told of the support we will be giving to Ukranian and Russian students and colleagues. Your story prompted me to ask what we are doing to support our Polish students and colleagues, too. I hope everything continues well with your family and Poland.

I’m not sure why people could even think/say things like “bootleg Anne Hathaway” to you because whenever I see you I associate you with phrases more like “vintage queen”, “gorgeous immortal”, and “absolute goddess” 🤨
I'm not familiar with Anne Hathaway, but surely saying she has some resemblance to a famous person would be more of a compliment than an insult, right? Like, why did they think she would feel insulted for looking like an actress?
It's always interesting to see that even creators I thought were impossible to hate still receive those comments. Pretty concerning that some of them trully believed marie currie was still alive, I know not everyone is interested in historical figures but man, that's rough
Honestly, anyone who has a video go viral will get hate. Their video will be seen by people who have no interest and no context and are just looking for a place to spill their bile.
I know the flight of refugees is heartbreaking and you want to help. That's commendable. But these folks are going to be in need of assistance for weeks and months from now. I work with disaster victims and after the initial catastrophe, in the months to come they will still need that baby food, personal hygiene items, (don't forget sanitary pads) and other assistance. Maybe, since right now there is an overflow of physical assistance for these folks, consider providing the help they need in April, May and June. They will still need assistance but will not be getting as much news coverage. Thanks for caring. Sorry to put this note here, but I wanted you to know. Kate

Seeing a new video from you always brightened my day, and I just want to thank you for doing what you do as it's always helped me feel a little less lonely. for all the people that leave those sort of comments, there's another you've helped even if it's just a little bit. keep up the good work and I hope you're doing well :D
I'm still absolutely baffled at the sheer volume of people who thought Marie Curie is still alive. Like, if you know anything about her whatsoever, you know that she's dead. There was even a joke in Disney's "Enchanted" about it. Furthermore, even if you didn't know this initially, it should be glaringly obvious that the video you made is a parody and not some weird grift in which a young woman tries to steal the identity of a long-dead chemist. Like.....do these people think that Scarlet Johansen literally is Black Widow and that she literally died when her character did?
I accidentally read Enchanted as Encanto and spent a few minutes confused why they would put a reference to Marie Curie into a movie playing in Colombia and asking myself how I could have missed it xD

Dzien dobry, Karolina. I am a Ukrainian and i am writing here because the comments under the video abt Ukr are closed. I just wanted to express a huge gratitude to all polish people for the incredible help they do to ukrainian ppl now. All refugees I know, who went through Poland, say: we will never ever forget what polish ppl made for us. Maybe first ukrainians in Poland were overwhelmed with the problems how and where to survive plus shock what they had already survived and didnt express much gratitude at once. But all whom I know after they arrived in a safe place in different countries, all of them said and all Ukrainians say: now we realised who our true friend is. Dzienkuem bardzo!!!!
Bless you Karolina, and bless all the Polish people, and all people who are helping the Ukrainians. I’ve visited Eastern Europe right after the fall of the Soviet Union and East Block Countries, I know very well the structures, apartment buildings, office buildings, etc you speak of in your latest video reporting on the situation. You have the comments turned off on it, and I understand; I can’t believe anyone could doubt what’s occurring or criticize regular (more like extraordinary!) citizens for helping these suffering people. Anyway, your video reports on things there are SO IMPORTANT to people like me, I hope you’ll keep providing them, weekly or whenever you feel like it. I’m 60 years old. My father fought in WW2, and I grew up with most men of my father’s age having done the same. I’ve visited relatives in Europe who told me about their experiences and what it was like then. I can empathize. I have responsibilities in the US here I can’t leave, but I’m going crazy not being able to do more than just send financial donations, as important as that is. If Not for those responsibilities, I’d go over and help in person. I have more or less just been crying since this started off and on. My wife broke down today after hearing the reporting for too long of a stretch. I absolutely deplore war, and don’t want to contribute to it in any way shape or form, but when there’s someone like Putin on the world political stage, who won’t seriously negotiate, and is apparently disdainful of diplomacy, and has illegally and mercilessly attacked a sovereign country, military means is the only way to confront him. Why the US and those NATO countries that could of also weren’t sending Ukraine military armaments simultaneously during the time Putin was building up forces at the border preparing to invade. Perhaps if that had happened, Putin would’ve been dissuaded, as he would’ve realized how costly it would be, and he possibly fail to take over Ukraine. My thanks to the Polish government for deciding to send its MIG fighter jets to Ukraine. I hope the U.S. forces get them there quickly. We should be giving them newer more up to date fighters too! Once again a single subhuman man, and yes I want to emphasize “MAN” on this International Women’s Day, being the one with power causing hell on earth. I’m a man but I would like nothing better than to see women be the ones to govern for a change. I don’t say “Russians” when speaking of the aggressor, because it’s Putin’s war! There were Russian people protesting against Putin and his war and he shut that down, as well as any news reporting critical of the invasion with just as much ruthlessness as any former Communist Czar ever could. Here in my city of Portland, OR there are a lot of Russians out with the Ukrainians every day waving the Ukrainian flag in their opposition to the invasion too. Wonderful people! There are thousands from the US volunteering to go over and help, and even retired military who are going over to help fight in combat. That wouldn’t be me, but to assist with first aid, etc., I would do if I could. Anyway, I’m sorry for this long post, but I just needed to talk at someone such as yourself, and let you know how much I appreciate your videos, especially now, as fate has us off topic of fashion at present. So care for, comfort, and console those suffering when and how you can, and take care of yourself and yours, stay safe. With much love and respect for you and your countrymen and women. Bless you all.
The HAIRR! So beautiful. The Marie Curie comments were insane though. There's this anthropologist who made a fake 'interview with an Anglo-Saxon from 1000 yrs' and the amount of angry people in his comment section acted in same way 🤣🤣
I couldn't comment on your life update video so I am posting it here. I live in the U.S and it gets me so mad that there's people here that don't believe what is happening in Ukraine right now. They have it in their heads that this war is made up and fueled by fake news media. What Poland is doing for these people who lost their homes is amazing. My great grandma came from Poland to America in the 1900s and my mom takes a lot of pride in her polish roots. It's nice seeing a country actually do something to help. As Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams has often said, one-third of people do not possess a sense of humor. It’s not that they don’t appreciate the funniness of the joke. They don’t even recognize that this clearly nonsensical thing you just said is a “joke”. They’re baffled because you said something untrue. They object that you obviously cannot speculate on the motive of the chicken crossing the road, you can’t read a chicken’s mind, why are you even trying to?
Fun fact: chicken crossing the road joke was about s*icide. As they refer to people who suffered as chickens, during a time when road rules were nearly none existent.
Ironic, since Scott Adams himself lost all sense of what’s humorous over time. :D (Seriously, though, humor is subjective, but Occam’s Razor applies. If it’s about someone who’s dead, and it’s clearly not a documentary, it’s a joke.)
One third seems high and maybe that’s an exaggeration. But such people take social cues, learn to pretend to laugh when other people laugh, even though the don’t know what the hell is going on 🤣

They really love throwing in a useless personal attack at the end. It feels like 11 to 16 year old boys who just got left alone after school and were told to "run it off" one too many times.
People who post negative comments like "downvoted" or how much they don't like it don't seem to understand that by them engaging with the content in any way, they're actually boosting the vid's numbers and making it more popular! Also, it's like peak attention seeking to even bother commenting lol! Keep doing what you do Karolina. We love you.
I just watched your video you just put up about the war going on. I am Australian, but I have a Polish grandfather and these things really closely effect me too. Thank you so much for your input on what is going on. I am so happy to hear the overwhelming support that the Polish are giving to the Ukrainian people. I just wish I could help. I have little children and this really gets to me, it’s just so tragic. I think you are beautiful. You are intelligent. And I love your videos. There are a lot of very ignorant people in this world. As a nurse I see that every damn day (Covid Covid). It blows my mind how stupid some of these comments on your videos are. I hope you keep making videos for a long time. Lots of love xx
I'll just say that those people have entirely too much spare time or are 11 years old (at least I hope so). And if they don't get your sense of humor, that's their loss. Your channel is the perfect combo of educational and hilarious, please keep doing what you do Karolina! Sending love from Italy!
Karolina, I love your videos and I learn a lot. I design historical costumes for Second Life and I get a lot of great info from you. You are very entertaining and knowledgeable. And btw, you are *beautiful*! Your look is so perfect with many historical styles. Keep up the great work!
That commenter who thought Marie Curie is a) you and b) alive was actually very wholesome and made me smile. Other than that, I am genuinely so sorry you had to read through this void where dreams and braincells go to lie down and perish. Sending much love from Czechia. ♥ P.S. You're beautiful, 11/10 prime swag, top bangs cut at midnight performance, we stan
“Bitch you dead” lmao I love that comment - I’m genuinely shocked at how many people were triggered by that video. Thank you for the content - I love what you do!
I hope these people never read the Onion. They would foam at the mouth, and tear out their hair. They are the reason I have to be so careful with sarcasm.
