New York City comedian Adam Keefe as "Count Sore Throat Pain" on commercials for Isodettes Lozenges. In 1965, after seeing the commercials, WKBW-TV Program Director Lyle "Red" Koch would contact Keefe to host "The Fright Night Late Show.” The program, consisting of classic horror films and comedic cut-ins, would run in various forms until 1969/1970.
Keefe debuted as host of the "Fright Night Late Show" on September 25, 1965. His early television success came through stand-up appearances on the Tonight Show and on the Ed Sullivan Show. Keefe passed away in 1994. #AdamKeefe #WKBW #buffalobroadcasting
