Welcome back to another video! Here's a little net repair, hanging out at the dock, and leaving for our second trip of the season. We fish for pollock out of dutch harbor Alaska. Hope you enjoy the video!
I know being on a big boat in Alaska is a lot different from what I'm used to on rec boats in the Gulf... but for me with taking Dramamine, I always start it the night before I go out to give it time to get into my system and then take another when I get up in the morning, at least a couple hours before leaving dock
Appreciate the videos Jakob. Really gave us an insight on what commercial fishing in Alaska is like. And Christian's definitely a good addition to the content :D
You should voice more what you're doing on the ship. As someone who understands nothing about the lines and hooks I'd be interested to learn what purpose those things have.
How much you get for 1 kilo fish And how long are you on the sea for 1 trip We fish in the north sea at flat fish total different we fish like 4 hour work 3 hour 1 hour off can you show wat your work time is like
I am working for you too 10 you in Pakistan but you have pushing trolley and our pacing trolley does not matter. We have very hard work and you guys have very easy work. People catch fish in the sea for two months, the rest of you people don't like how many days you stay in the sea
When I was working on a trawler I had 14 hour shifts with 10 hour breaks, some trawlers do 8 hours on duty 8 hours off, some boats to 6 hours on 6 hours off and some boats just do day tours where you go out until the boat is full, so could be 6 hours could be 18. But yeah you return to land when either the boat is running out of fuel or it’s full of fish.
